dammit I posted this morning and it disappeared. 13 damage too. Oh well - let's see what happens when I resubmit.

For future reference, Thellira has Deny Advantage - "Your foes struggle to pass your defenses. You aren’t flat-footed to hidden, undetected, or flanking creatures of your level or lower, or creatures of your level or lower using surprise attack. However, they can still help their allies flank."

Thellira feels the toothpicks pierce her back and winces. A burst of acid surrounds her, hitting the red and blue fey. She regrips her hammer and looks to see which are still standing.

Ouch. At least with Deny Advantage, I don't think I'm flat footed.

This is actually the first time I've been on the receiving end of Color Spray in 2e.

Is this accurate?
Since Color Spray is Stunned 1, Blinded 1 round, Dazzled 1 minute, on my next turn I have 2 actions to attack. And since I think I know where it is (from where it attacked right next to me), I think it'll just be a DC11 flat check to hit him for one round and then DC5 for the rest of the fight.

Am I able to target that square with an attack? Or do I need to locate him first?

I think the point was for the Heroic Recovery to come when Sid reached Dying 4, not 3, but we can try and ride it out.

GM - I believe Heroic Recovery specifically precludes the Wounded condition.

Sid's turn should be:

Failed Recovery check = Dying 2 -> Dying 3
Failed Persistent Damage check = Dying 3 -> Dying 4
Heroic Recovery = Stable with 0 HP and retain Persistent Poison which will require another check at the end of Sid's next turn.

From the rules, Heroic Recovery is a little different - "You don’t gain the wounded condition or increase its value from losing the dying condition in this way, but if you already had that condition, you don’t lose it or decrease its value."

But yes - botching a roll or two could still mean Dying 4 very quickly - didn't mean to gloss over that. Just trying to get a few more rounds to help. And the rest of what you said is 100% accurate - this is a crappy situation to be in. I'll be using my potion for Sid too.

Might be time for this Sid. Reset Dying to 0 and gain 4 more rounds to deal with the persistent damage. If you crit fail that recovery check you're done I believe.

Thellira has a once per scenario boon reaction too that will kick off the next time Leader attacks anyone within 30' of Thellira

Trigger: A creature within 30 feet of you targets you or an ally with an attack
Effect: The creature takes fire damage equal to 1d6 + your level (basic Reflex save). The DC of the Reflex save is equal to your spell DC or your class DC, whichever is higher.

So that should be 1d6+3 with DC 19.

She also has Deny Advantage in case that factors in:
Your foes struggle to pass your defenses. You aren’t flat-footed to hidden, undetected, or flanking creatures of your level or lower, or creatures of your level or lower using surprise attack. However, they can still help their allies flank.

Gotcha - yeah Paizo can be wonky with that. I forgot that if you add another of the same die (d20 before d20 or d8 before d8) then it shifts just the result for that die. I almost always add to the bottom as a result, but had forgotten the SM check.

So if I'd listed performance first, it would have a different result? I'll adjust the flavor text going forward so it's clearer I guess.

According to that, Thellira's weapon is held. I was planning to use a "change grip" to burn an action even though nothing would actually change.
