Hey fellas, I'll be gallivanting around Spain with my girlfriend until the 25th. I'll try to make quick combat posts when I can, but my response time may be delayed.
Arius, your acceleration is the bomb! How many rounds does it last for?
EDIT: Also, Beopere, any changes to the murder status of the murder crows after Vladimir's latest barrage?
Word, thanks for clarifying Beopere! I'll make sure to reference this post next time I'm in doubt.
It appears that I'm getting a completely different set of rolls since checking a few days ago. Not sure how the RNG works, but you have my word that no roll-hacking is afoot!
Vladimir has a BAB of +6, granting him an extra attack. If he uses his rapidshot feat on a full-attack action, he gets an additional attack. Arius casting acceleration means Vladimir gets an additional attack. Finally, Vladimir's manyshot perk means that his first attack of the four strikes with two arrows.
If I'm correct, this leaves me with four attack rolls. I'd like to attack the crow attacking Arius, and switch to the other if the first one is successfully brought to 0 hp (I figure Irravin/Arius will handle the swarms better than Vladimir).
Rolled a 17,2,11,4 and 3. Not the best set of rolls, but it could be worse I suppose. My totals (+15 bonus to acrobatics, +9 bonus to attack) are as follows:
Acrobatics - 32
Attack 1 - 11
Attack 2 - 20
Attack 3 - 13
Attack 4 - 12
Do any of these hit?

I agree with Nyrus on this one. It's a really cool idea but I want to make sure I give Vladimir and the main party the attention they deserve.
Haha we are super stoked to get you (and Angola) back in it!
Sounds good, no sweat! I’m still ruminating over the newest revelations from that vision!
What Nyrus said! Digging your writing
Sorry for the delay. I just picked my thesis lab and things have been hectic while I settle in and organize stuff for my program.
Post will be up later tonight!
Tell me about it! My god, I'm incredibly jealous of Irravin right now haha.
My post is coming up in the next half hour or so.
EDIT: It's up
Ah! Gotchya. Thanks for the reminder
I took the full 2-day response time, but it's finally up! I was agonizing over how to handle such a sticky situation, especially when I remembered the assortment of items I have in my inventory. Speaking of which...I've updated the inventory section of my character sheet! It should have all of Vladimir's possessions on there (sans gold, for now). I'll be keeping updated records of things like arrow count there.
My goal is to move Arius and Vladimir past the mound of churning snow. I'm assuming both of them occupy their own 5 foot square, which means I would need to push Arius 10 feet in order to get both of us out of harm's way.
D20PFSRD says "If your attack is successful, your target is pushed back 5 feet. For every 5 by which your attack exceeds your opponent’s CMD you can push the target back an additional 5 feet."
Because they say I CAN push the target, I'm under the impression that should my roll allow something beyond a 10 foot push, I can choose to only go 10 feet. Which is what I hope to do. If you disagree with that reading of the rules I won't have a problem with that, that's just how I read it.
My apologies for the delay! I didn’t realize there was a new post and was out of the habit of checking. I’ll post later today and from then on my posts will be in a timely 2-day max manner like we talked about :)
Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 6 + 4⇒ (16) + 6 + 4= 26
Survival: 1d20 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 4 = 13
Quick question regarding the above rolls. Vladimir's bonus to survival checks is +6, adding +4 for favored enemy magical beasts. Vladimir also has the class feature "track". Although I'm not actively tracking the beast, I wonder if the bonus would count on this survival check. It doesn't change the outcome, just curious. Your thoughts Beopere?
Hey guys, sorry for the slight delay in my posting this week; i’ve been wrapping up a lab project. On a plane right now, will write on the flight and post when I land in four hours or so!
Oh man! I’m both excited and nervous! Nyrus, your efforts were well spent; you and Beopere are crafting a mighty fine story!
No sweat! Glad it worked well! I'll keep doing that when needed.
Also, I don't plan to write in every time I change Vladimir's spells (I'll just update his character sheet), but I felt inclined to write it in this time for effect
I was unsure if I had enough of the 24th left to spend a day using diplomacy to enlist the Seraphic Eye, so I used character text to specify two options for Vladimir's evening, depending on what you think is a reasonable time per beat. Let me know how you feel about that handling!
And egads! Good luck Nyrus! May the rolls be in Irravin's favor!
Hey Beopere, that totally makes sense. My apologies brother, in hindsight I got a little carried away and definitely did not mean to cross a line. It won't happen again.
Mmm, good point. Thanks, that's helpful! I'll keep it more in character!
Omg, good luck dude! That's so exciting! Don't sweat it :)
I've taken advantage of the PbP medium to add some character thoughts that provide hidden context to the words I'm having Vladimir speak. However, his wording and behavior was intentionally written to be neutral and respectful, so I wouldn't encourage reading the spoiler while writing a response unless Ia is also paranoid and rolls sense motive.
What Nyrus said! I'm down to criss-cross a little temporally, and am fine with spoilering less. I'll make sure not try not to metagame!
Oh man! What an exciting and cryptic development.
I messed up and didn't write down Raziel's vision from the Eye of Incarnis. Can you remind us what he saw regarding the battle with Desivax? Is that how we know Auzuravax? The name doesn't ring a bell and I did not write it anywhere in the log
Hallo! Hope you guys had a blast at Lucidity. Sorry for the delay on my recent post; I was struggling to choose a direction to take it in, and it's been an exceptionally busy week.
Left a friendly in character reminder for you to call me Irn, Beopere ;)
No sweat! Glad you're back :D
God. Beopere...you killed it man. Expect a phone call from me sometime in the next day or two congratulating you on a job well done. I think you used Samsaran lore beautifully. I'm crafting a response, expect it sometime in the next hour or two.
Nyrus, thanks for your patience and support as Irravin. Bae and I chuckled HEARTILY when you said "dramatic emotional tirades" are nothing new to Vladimir.
Sorry for the delay. I saw the opportunity for some really good character development and ran with it. The post is hefty and made with love. Enjoy.
Damn, phenomenal post Beopere! Today's pretty slammed, so if I don't have a chance to get to it tonight I'll take care of it first thing tomorrow morning!
Sounds good! No pressure. These are hefty posts haha. Thanks for the positive feedback guys!
Sorry, that took longer than expected. A bit of a wall of text, but I feel it accurately depicts Vladimir's feelings on everything.
That’s a great idea. I’m game. About to get on a flight to Boston but I’ll have WiFi. Will post a response sometime in the next two hours.
Quick point of clarification: is Vladimir part of the Reckoners or the Shattered Veil?
Sounds good beopere! This is a SERIOUSLY badass scen you’ve painted.
Question: could you please give a brief 1 sentence summary of each of the 3 orders within the Divine Visage? I know we’ve gone over it but it’s been a while and I unfortunately didn’t include too much in the log
Damn, that picture of the enclave is awesome!
Quick point of clarification: Gvene and I saw a massive paw print in the Fae woods. My knowledge (nature) roll revealed it was "unearthly". The knowledge (planes) roll I did as we flew into the Enclave was to look back on that paw print and see if I can figure more out about what beast left that.
Dude, I am absolutely loving this. Your post on Vladimir's troubled dreams sent shivers down my spine!
That sounds good to me! I don't have anything to say to Elion or Gvene and am happy to let the rest of the trip continue.
Yeah I think that's a good idea. I'm down!
Gotchya. Thanks man; added the 3rd attack.
Gotchya. I suspected as much. Unfortunately, I have to have a plant or animal in mind, and have no such thing in mind other than the Kamadans.
In that case, I'd like to prepare Aspect of the Falcon, and will instead suggest Irravin and I take the lead, so that my perception will hopefully notice any ambushes! I'd also like to do a perception check from the mouth of the cave before we depart.
Understood. Thanks for clarifying! In that case, I’ll just remove the formula response of +1 under the “Skills” penalty of my armor and change it to 0!
Word! I'll be open minded about your underdark stuff and try to stay true to what Vladimir would know. I think his deductions leading to an educated guess about the creatures would be accurate, but it is also a guess and think neither Vladimir nor I would be surprised to be wrong.
Update: I was wrong! This is awesome! I haven't read about Mongrelmen yet!
Question: I've reviewed my character sheet. The default formulas for mithril breastplates seem to add +1 to relevant skills. It looks like BP is -3, not -4, because a non-MWK steel BP is -3. In that case, adding MWK and armor expert and mithril gives a +1. Can an armor give a bonus to skills?
Right?!?! Ahhhhhh I’m LOVING this. I’m sure the absolute last thing Irravin wants to do is lean into his crow heritage, but the potential for a sneak attack is too good!
I’m not sure how these creatures are alive in a kamadan nest. It doesn’t appear that they fought them off; they likely get to coexist with the Kamadans by frequently presenting offerings of food and such
Don’t even sweat it my dude! I’m so in love with this campaign. I just read your most recent post and audibly went “holy shit”. I’m so hyped. Heading to a party right now, will post in a couple hours.
Nyrus, I heard what’s in this cave. This is going to be fun.
Also, I don't think you factored the +4 to ATK I get for "favored enemy: magical beasts". I doubt it would change the result of my attack, but just worth noting for future attacks, as I suspect we'll see our Kamadan friends again :P
