Akula opens the door. The stench, garbage, rotted carrion, and half-eaten legs of strange animals speak of the years of use by unsanitary tenants. Tattered hides form six unstable hammocks slung up with makeshift spikes in the wall. Battered cooking equipment lies mixed indiscriminately with broken or worn arms and armor.
I'll assume Akula was taking 10 on Stealth as usual while opening the door.
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Four goblins are sitting in a circle throwing dice. In the far corner, a mangy creature that looks like a cross between a dog and a rat lays half asleep. Instinct more than anything causes one of the goblins to look up and gasp in surprise. There is something different about this goblin...an intelligence in its eyes...and a sizable gold chain around its neck.
Blue Goblin: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Gray Goblin: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Red Goblin: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Green Goblin*: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Goblin Dog: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Kessai: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Akula: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Julio: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Blitz: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Meepo: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Mal’Kolenth: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Kessai is the only one who beat the average initiative of the bad guys. Everybody go ahead and set yourself up on the map. Once Kessai moves the Goblins go and your places are set.
