Quinggong Monk dialed up to 12

4/5

By now most of the people are aware that the Unchained Monk is practically useless with the archetypes previously released. In fact it's for all intents and purposes the Quinggong archetype made into a full class. I'm not usually one for monks but have played one or two, and this book does an admiral job of restructuring the archetypes in a solid and easy to understand way. After reading through it I've noticed no obvious mistakes and quite enjoyed it, the pdf is fully colored though with scant illustrations one of which is reused for the cover. All in all, for it's price it's a good product to have in your digital library, and essential if you want any kind of flavored monk.

Healling spells

4/5

I like the class, and while I've not noticed the rough edges that Endzeitgeist did, I'll take his word for it. After a thorough examining and great enjoyment my only complaint is in the spell department. The whole basis of the class is the divine power of the blood, and yet the spell list drops the most basic spell type that can be expected from divine casters, which is healing though to be fair the class as presented is Arcane.

While some bloodsongs make up for this with temporary hit points, and a few spells that do the same, I feel it was a sad error to leave them out. That said, the relatively small list of spells is well defined and I feel fits thematically with the class along with a few that grant ranged options. The fact that spellcasting stat has completely bypassed the usual mental stats make the class very focused, if you don't want to you never need dip your toes into the murky waters of mental stats while leaving you able to diversify as much as you wish.

Though I may houserule in healing spells I think that the Sanguine Disciple is a fine class and one I look forward to playing and seeing played at my gaming table.
