![]() Glad to hear you are all good Curaigh! As I said, I’ve never done the one on one before, but the 4 monster melee was great. If I had gone 1 to 1 with a couple of people at my table I would’ve been out quick, but with 4 different competitors there were shifting tides that let me actually compete and get some hits in before getting knocked out. Everyone at our table seemed to enjoy the 4 monster Thunderdome too.... ![]()
![]() My son and I showed up to the Bestiary Bash (our first one) and found it was ready to be canceled as Curaigh was not able to be there. (I hope everything is okay with him?...) But in a show of Paizonian spirit everyone decided to forge ahead with a modified four monster per arena combat that was a total blast! Thanks again to everyone who stayed and Thunderdome’d it out! (I got my head handed to me, but my son ended up competing in the 1 on 1 final match where he triumphed on dueling d20 rolls when he and his honorable competitor realized their combat would take at least the rest of the day to complete...) Lots of fun, and my son is already talking about coming back to compete again next year.... ![]()

![]() Charles Scholz wrote: The one I ask Why is Lifeforce. Lifeforce......Yes. If you're in the mood for Mystery Science Theater 3000 level schlock, perhaps below that level, Lifeforce is a unique life experience. Spoiler alert, if you want further information on the greatness of Lifeforce in a very detailed way, see Lifeforce. If this appeals to you, then strap yourself in, grab the popcorn, licorice and soda and prepare for pure awesomeness. Oh, and I'd love to see Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell done well, perhaps with a Peter Jackson level attention to detail treatment. (I see someone like Gary Oldman having a lot of fun playing Mr. Norrell.) And Fred Saberhagen's Book of Swords series would make a great B-movie or trilogy..... ![]()

Or are you just awesome with search functions? The Eldritch Mr. Shiny wrote: Sounds like Alice In Chains trying to play country music. Very Australian. I have to agree with that too. It's slightly different from the version I remember. But having said that, my memory is FAR from perfect. Grand Magus wrote: The dates don't jive. The dates certainly don't jive. And I could certainly be off by as much as 5 or 6 years. But I am sure that it wasn't 2007 that I heard this song. The circumstances of my life changing in that timeframe would have to mean I have been pulled into a parallel timeline to be that far off...Not sure how to explain the discrepancy though.... ![]()
![]() Roughly 20 years ago I had a period of trouble getting to sleep and would listen to lots of different radio stations late at night trying to relax and get some zzzs. Half-asleep, or maybe three quarters asleep one night, I was listening to a Washington based station play a song called "For the Crow" and I believe the band's name was The Rubes, or The Rudes, or something similar. Of course, really enjoying the song, I fell asleep....When I woke up the next morning I decided to hunt for an album or single. In that dim near-Hyborian age before iTunes, the local indie store Zulu didn't have anything by this phantom group I'm not sure I actually heard, or just half-made up in my head.....Anyone Washingtonians actually remember this band? Or did I just dream up the whole thing..... (And no, I did not just watch "The Crow" on TV that night.....) ![]()
![]() My son Graeme is in the final two - 3 more days of voting to decide the winner. If any Paizonian Canucks can throw a few last minute votes his way, please do so.... And for non-Canadian residents, you can still check out his lightsaber work at:

![]() My 6 year-old son Graeme is starring in a 20 second video clip showing off his own Jedi lightsaber move, the “Saddle Slash”. He has made it through the semi-finals (top 32) to be displayed on the Canadian “Join the Jedi” website, and he has been chosen by their judges' panel as one of eight finalists. The contest winner will now be chosen by the public’s votes, and we’re hoping you can help him win! If you're a Canadian resident, click on the link below and you can vote for Graeme’s video from November 21 to December 11 inclusive. You can place 1 vote per person per day. The contest prize? 1. His move will be featured on the Star Wars the Clone Wars animated TV series WITH his name in the credits!
(Mom and Dad would be really excited to win the trip; my son is pretty geeked to see his name in the credits of Star Wars The Clone Wars.) For some weird reason, it seems you have to create an ID to vote. If you can take a few minutes, please vote for Graeme's video by following these steps: First, go to:

![]() A non-buggy version of Temple of Elemental Evil. Or a Pathfinder version using the same turn-based engine would be fine. Another turn based version of The Bard's Tale (I know of the newer one and enjoyed that too, but something about seeing your "hunter" critically hit that 10th Mangar guard in a row was sweet.) I'd also love to see an update of Archon, the old combat chess game. That was a lot of fun... ![]()

It will require a car, as it's down in Tacoma, about 30+ miles from the PaizoCon site, but if you're looking for a local attraction that's pretty unique and very interesting, I'd give it a thumbs up. I went there with the wife and kids last year and everybody liked it. The Museum of Glass was very cool. The family and I took about 3.5 hours getting through the whole thing and we were quite happy to make the trip down to Tacoma. Thanks for the recommendation Jason! ![]()

This was my first Paizocon, and my first 'con ever. Already looking forward to next year.... ![]()
![]() I was one of the audience participants. This session was one of the true highlights of the weekend. It's hard to describe the atmosphere, but sometime around the cleric tossing her hair like a supermodel with a +20 diplomacy check, and everyone wanting the bard's flute for...ahem, somewhat dubious purposes, everyone started laughing, and we didn't stop for the next two hours..... Thanks again to Greg and all the players for being such great sports! I hope this one is expanded at the next Paizocon. ![]()
![]() I seem to have a problem with my registration. I 'think' I got into Greg A. Vaughn's audience group of 20 for Twisting Plots, but due to a conflict with a seminar at the same time it's not on my schedule. It does say that there is a conflict with Creating Evocative Locations. However, when I try to drop the conflicting seminar it drops, but even though the option to add Twisting Plots is available, adding Twisting Plots won't save... Anyone else have a similar problem? ![]()

![]() My final vote of the contest went to Matt Goodall. In every previous round I had voted for Jim Groves and Alex MacLeod, who are the only two contestants in the contest I can say that about. And if I was voting on body of work, my vote would have went to one of those two contestants. But I'm voting for the best entry in the final round. IMHO, that was Matt Goodall. ![]()
