yeah i was thinking the same thing hahaha but it was fun. reminded me of an oooollld game i played where one of the other players was a monk and to progress to a higher level he had to fight 1vs1 with the best monk in the world (and he was the second best). it was pretty cool just visualizing all the moves like a kung fu movie Nissk will sit down and eat ravenously after the sparring. He will fill his two wineskins with wine, and drink plenty more wine with dinner. He will chat if anyone else is chatting, otherwise he is focused on the business of eating. ![]()

rolls are fine, i just didnt want to bog down the game for the others or encourage a brawl in our quarters hahaha! - grapple misses and i will snake style (use sense motive as AC as immediate action) vs the trip
snake style AC vs trip: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 20 trip misses, provoking AO due to snake fang AO: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
my AO hits, giving me an additional attack AO: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
on snake's turn he will step back out of Riggar's melee range and take a swig of wine from his waterskin (+1 drunken ki (total 2), 2 swigs down on my waterskin
correct me if this doesn't do the sparring justice

He takes a deep swig of what is assuredly not water from his waterskin. In a manner that would seem clumsy to most, he rolls his barrel up to the stage. On the way to the front he meets Jimnas and his wife, bartender and bookkeeper of the bar he most commonly frequented. "We will be sad to lose your business, but we wish you the best, Nis'sk," said the woman before Jimnas shared a parting drink with the snake. Looking up, he realized that it was once again time. Just as he had each year for the past several years, he turned his keg on its side and stood upon it, taking backward steps to propel himself forward while his to-and-fro and general ale stench let people know to get out of his way or he might run them over. "Keg" being a particularly slow method of travel, especially with people in the way, the drunken snake-man arrived well after the commotion that the landing made. ![]() Also, and this may just be my interpretation, but the Crane Wing feat states that it only functions while using the Crane Style feat (even goes so far as to link that feat in the description), meaning that folks who would take this feat (qualifying without prerequisites like some classes/archetypes can do) without taking the Crane Style itself may have a useless feat on their hands because they cant use the Style that then allows the move. The same would apply to characters taking more than one style feat chain that do not have the Fuse Style ability of the Master of Many Styles (or an equivalent ability from another archetype that I am unaware of). If you are in Crane Style you cant use Panther Riposte without first using a swift action to activate Panther Style, thereby foregoing your use of Crane Wing as you are no longer in Crane Style. ![]()
![]() yeah it seems great, and it is great, but not as good as it appears. all it takes to counter it is more than one enemy against the crane-winger. also BAB over 5 or TWF will do it too. Plus you could catch the monk unawares (although that's a little harder in the arena). Also ranged attacks. drunken snake doesnt even have Crane Wing, i decided to go with Snake (of course) and Boar styles. i might pick up Crane later though, but i also like Panther, Monkey and Janni styles. Master of Many Styles is basically what i imagine a monk being, even more so than the basic class. ![]()
