Wanted to let everyone know that while I initially liked breunnor for whatever reason I was starting to find him less enjoyable in this new game setting.
I will have a new character worked up this weekend I have almost everything worked up in my head (except a sig. move) next to translate to "paper"
I also want to apologize to everybody if you felt I was holding things up. I can't say its not my fault becuase that would be a lie.

I want to drop a quick post about Ghillana. I wanted to establish early on that she is sick, evil, perverted and cruel. I wrote it into her character history, but I don't think we read each other's histories. I don't want to beat the whole evil thing into the ground however, and I don't want to turn the game into "who can be the most offensive."
I think I've kind of established that she's all these things and would like to move many of them off-camera in the coming days/weeks.
Mainly, I don't want to have to post 2-3 times a day making fun of characters people put a lot of time into, gratuitously headbutting NPCs in the testicles and being a general ass. I also don't want to make people feel uncomfortable, and as I have a somewhat low threshold in that regard myself, I'd like to be spared as well.
Regardless, please assume from here on that she is still rotten and evil and help me move some of it off camera. If you want to be rotten and evil with her, send me a PM saying what horrible things you want to do and she'll be down with it. I know that we get points for maintaining personna outside the arena, and I will make sure to do this, hopefully without going into gruesome detail about where I hide the bodies of the orphans.
Additionally, as I am new to PbP, I don't know where the lines are regards other people's characters or sticking the group with consequences due to the actions of one person. If I do something inappropriate, please let me know early. I won't intentionally upset someone, so if I do upset you, I simply don't know where those lines are and am trying to learn.

My only concern is that this was advertised as a team event. Not sure how you can be all those things and still be a team player. IC if you are a team player Azrael will try to help you and even heal you - he can do quite a bit of healing. If he decides you are not a team player and not an asset to our city winning the games he will not help you at all, deciding that the team will be better off without you. Persona in public/ in the arena is something totally separate. Any way you can separate it so you persona is all those things, but you can still act as a team player for the good of the group?
my only "yuck" button is romance in rpgs. for whatever reason, it strikes me as odd. i hate romance quests in video games too. i suppose i am a bit of a prude at least in public hahaha
Hm... Being evil, and nasty, and kind of a b*tch, but also being a team player... Sounds like the kind of characters I can enjoy a lot ;)
Honestly, Alic is going to be evil and all, though not as perverse as Ghillana sounds to be. Alic, and especially his persona the Mantis, is ruthless and efficient beyond all else. The Mantis is a cold-blooded killer, who slays without mercy, compassion, or any emotion at all. It's not that it takes pleasure in killing; it's just its job.
That said, I'd suggest that you play Ghillana as working with the others for survival. Certainly at this point, as a Drow female, she considers herself better than everyone else. But once the group experiences actual combat, and she sees the competence of the other gladiators, she'll probably be a little more willing to work with them... at least for the time being.
As for PBP and lines being drawn, from what I've seen, people tend to be pretty explicit about things they don't like, hah. Honestly, as long as you don't get the lot of us killed outright, I think this is supposed to be a more brutal, gritty game. We're big boys and girls; we can handle it.
I personally play a lot of evil aloof woman who changed in the course of gameplay because of others action. It great RP when a selfish person learnt selflessness in the end or form great friendship.

I don't think Ghilanna is a team player, but I think you'll find that she'll have your back when you need her to. I am not the kind of player that will sit and watch you die while my character does nothing.
I'll see how things go when things get scary. She's a Drow and they have not dominated the Underdark for centuries by killing off all their allies on whims. It is fine with me if the two of you hate each other, but we'll be fighting together in the arena regardless.
Still don't know that I'd call her a team player though. More like an "enemy of your enemies."

Sorry about my lack of posts during the weekend. Barely at the computer during the weekend due to 2-3(Depending on the weekend) RL tabletop games. I'll post at the next best opportune time. Death is still here! :)
I also must apologize for I have made an error. I just started PbP for the first time a week ago and so haven't learned what to expect yet.
I didn't realize that you would be posting so quickly and so I will try to check the boards more often. I'm in one other game and it seems that even though I check every day, there are at most 3-4 posts to weed through. Checking there so often has made me suspect that I am too eager, though I see now that the other game is simply slower paced.
With your permission, Ghilanna will have simply stayed up all night. She will have refused to take off her armor, making her fatigued this morning. I am okay with that.
There are some other issues I'm confused about however. Are we expected to wear this armor instead of our normal armor? Ghilanna's armor and shield are both enchanted. Additionally, are we to fight with these spears and not our normal weapons or do we still have our weapons?
I have assumed that Ghilanna is dressed in her armor as normal and still has her weapons at hand. If that assumption is inaccurate, then please let me know. She will not consider these costumes, or these spears, to be combat worthy and will state such vehemently.
I will endeavor to check these boards in the evening before going to bed so I don't log on again to 20+ new posts. 8)
PS: Please don't take Ghilanna's rant to be anger on my part. She's furious and ready to throw down. I'm not angry at all, just roleplaying.
Hi Ghilanna lol, well that's because I post quite actively and there are many players too. The axiom is still to post once a day if possible. Anyway the armor is for ceremonial purposes and once the matches start you will wear your own gears. Also for the part about fatigue it's fine cos you are not outdoors I will assume you take it off to sleep every night unless for reasons you wish to wear it.

i dont think that is really a good idea. i mean i dont know what all you have planned but this seems like something that is derailing the train for little reason.
all told, snake doesnt yet have a reason to give a damn about azrael unless he asks for help or something
Snake should have plenty of concern, the big picture is we need each other for our Country. If we fail we get invaded that means everything you have know gone. Friends and familly dead or converted. We aren't protecting each other b/c we like each other. We are defending our homes, and we need each other.

I was unable to log on until just recently, I assume the Paizo boards were down. I also assume this is true of everyone else before Azrael because of the long lag time.
I was worried it was an "island problem" like so many other things are around here. Glad to see it wasn't just me.
