To build off of the whole "immune to fire so you should be a blaster" thing, maybe in life you were a red dragon.
Now you're a devil with levels in red dragon-blooded sorcerer.

Saving Cap'n Crunch wrote: Domain. As Treantmonk most famously said, "Throw yourselves upon the gears of the machinery." Wait, that's not right. He did say that having a domain gives you bonus spells per day, even if they are a bit restricted, though. Unless you want a bodyguard, I suppose. "You've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop!"

blackbloodtroll wrote: No DM is going to give a player that kind of money, and power, at first level. It's not overpowered if every character is a noble and if the DM is skilled enough to compensate for his PCs being richer.
A party full of nobles can work out fine, and the often ruthless politics of a king's (or queen's) court could make for some very fun role playing opportunities.
I speak from experience. I ran a campaign like this, and my players said it was their favorite campaign that I've ever run for them.

I just found this thread... I know it's old, but the advice board needs a nice, positive thread to even out the new rogue one.
I've found williamoak to be a very helpful poster and one who also has interesting threads to make about his various builds.
EDIT: And of course blackbloodtroll, even if his use of commas is sometimes of dubious correctness.

I enjoy asking my players nicely to not ruin stuff by saying "har har har, I teleport to that other continent and quit fighting evil" rather than just banning things.
If your players are mature, they know when it's inappropriate to just teleport miles out of the way. Other situations (like the aforementioned ship example) can be solved with common sense, like rolling to see where you end up because of ship movement.

Have him be telepathically connected to orcus.
Or...
Have a little mouth appear in the palm of his hand that constantly tries to push him towards being evil.

I've DM'd for my teenage son and his friends, and they're quite mature in their role playing and stuff (one was even a paladin).
I hate it when people give young gamers a bad rep. I started when I was young, as did many of us, but I know I wasn't like this.

Anyways, ill try to be less evil with my next character, but first i gotta set up the scores with this paladin guy, hes been pissing me off for some time already trying to tell what i can or cant do when im just playing in character. So what if i have some slaves? Hes the only good guy in the team anyways, i can just kill him and they shouldnt get in the way while i do it.
Besides, if we talk it out of game, i would probably get into fight with him anyways. If someone screw with me in game, hes not gonna get out of it so easily. Spoken like a true sociopath. Ha, or a teenager. Same thing.

However, from a mechanical perspective, it can be problematic.
We'll do a test. I'll take 10 fairly strong guys and have them try to hit a moving target that doesn't want to be hit. You take 10 super intelligent but really weak guys and have them do the same thing. We'll see how it goes.
You can size up your opponent and calculate trajectories all you want. If you can't get there faster than he can move out of the way, you won't hit.
And even in terms of sizing up his movements and "calculating their moves," honestly, knowing what someone is going to do in a fight before they do it comes down to awareness and intuition, both of which are heavily in the "Wisdom" area. Hey, I play this cool game called Pathfinder. It's a fantasy game! Isn't that cool?
I get to use my imagination and stuff. It isn't always realistic, but it's a game. I have fun with it, and so do many others!
Isn't that great? :D But if it's not believable, then it ruins immersion. Have fun playing fighters.

And your saves are disheartening.
At later levels, if you can spare it, those feats that improve your saves might be a good investment.

Working as intended.
If the Synthesist is too much to kill then kill his allies, attack while he is asleep.
Remember, Synthesists MUST spend 10 rounds--unless otherwise specified--to summon the eidolon fursuit. Worst suggestion ever. Don't punish a problem player by actually punishing everyone else and making him feel smart for playing an OP char and being the only one surviving. Not to mention that there's a spell that lets them summon it in 1 round...

Once, I threw a big plot twist at my players: their long time ally (an angel, no less) turned out to be a demigod of primal chaos.
One player turned to me and seriously said "I want to roll to disbelieve reality." I told him that he could if he rolled a nat 20.
He did.
His character went insane, got enslaved by the demigod, and I made him the new BBEG of the campaign.

Depends on the artifact.
The Deck of Many Things is useful whenever you want to end a campaign quickly, for example.

What's the point? This is so situational.
It'd be like having a dagger that's normal in every way, but if it's a full moon, you're covered in peanut butter,, and you're falling off a cliff it becomes plus 1,000 and vorpal. It just isn't worth it.
Also, most people don't use the hero point system.

EDIT:spelling Yes, he should totally fall because he should strive to know the details even if they're not available. Even if the guy was charmed, that's something that can be sorted out at a trial. Because being Good is hard so taking the easy way by letting him go without all the evidence is taking the easy way out... and Easy is the opposite of Hard, therefore the opposite of Good, therefore he committed an Evil act. This is a joke, right? I've never seen logic so flawed.

My problem is this: It invalidates the XP system. What is experience? It's how close you are to leveling up, which is getting stronger.
A fighter gets stronger as he exercises and gets better with his chosen weapon through EXPERIENCE.
A wizard learns new spells by EXPERIENCE (seeing other enemies cast higher spells, for example).
Etc.
But with training, what is experience? When you're "ready" to train? It makes no sense to me.
Also, if you have to pay for it, it throws a wrench in the WBL rules.

The trick to making an AA is to only take 3 levels of AA and mostly eldritch knight levels.
Fighter 1/Wizard 5/EK Until you qualify for/AA 3/EK rest/Wizard until 20
That's how I'd go.

I once played an aasimar inquisitor very similar to this. He wore a black cloak (he was stealthy) wielded a scythe (he grew up as a farmer and used this to harvest wheat) and eventually took the racial feats to get black angel wings (flavored as how he was descended from a fallen angel, which wasn't his fault).
He was NG, and very nice, but everyone would look at him and think he was the physical manifestation of death.
This thread just made me remember him, thought I'd contribute the anecdote.

The more books allowed=the more POTENTIAL for power. Simply because there's more options, there are more possible combos.
Also, it depends on the class. Classes like barbarian and monk have only gotten stronger with more books (beast totem and quinggong, respectively, for example). Others, like the wizard, pretty much haven't changed power much asides from new spells, most of which are jokes.
All in all, nothing is certain. It's all very variable.
