With a sinister laughter that echoes through the empty street, this deformed little humanoid comes out of a dark corner, its bloodshot eyes wide open and its horrifically large mouth deformed in the mockery of a grin.

Grab (Ex) a dread eater can use its grab attack against a foe up to one size category larger than itself.
Night Terror (Su) As a standard action, a dread eater con fill the mind of a target with terrifying visions. The target must succeed on a Will save (DC 13) or become shaken for 1d3+1 rounds, as illusions of shadowy monsters only the target can see appear out of nowhere and attack the target. This is a mind-affecting fear effect with a range of 30 feet. The save DC is Charisma-based.
Taste the Fear (Su) If a dread eater begins its turn with a shaken humanoid grappled with its bite attack, it may try to rend the target's soul and feed on the target's pain and fear. The target must succeed on a Fortitude save (DC 13) or suffer 1d3 points of Wisdom damage. The save DC is Charisma-based.

Dread eaters are wretched fey who infest mortal settlements and prey upon unfortunate souls foolish enough to venture into the streets at night. They resemble small humanoids with thin, spindly limbs disproportionately long for their size, and pitch black skin which seems to shimmer dimly if exposed to light. Their mouths are filled with several rows of needle-like teeth, and stretch grotesquely around their faces and upward toward their ears, giving the illusion of a monstrous perpetual grin.

Cruel and sadistic to the extreme, dread eaters sustain themselves as much on flesh as on fear and despair. After choosing a victim, they stalk their target, waiting for the right moment to strike. Only when their prey is most vulnerable they reveal themselves and make swift use of their fear-inducing ability, devouring the terrified victim moments later. Packs of dread eaters are especially vicious, as their natural abilities make them extremely effective at ganging up on a common target, a tactic the vicious fey are ready to adopt with glee.

The dread eater's peculiar appearance and hunting habits has led scholars to hypothesize a connection between their race and the Shadow Plane, and possibly with the enigmatic fey lord Count Ranalc, one of the Eldest of the First World, exiled to the Shadow Plane in ages past. While such theories remain unsubstantiated, the simple fact documented sightings of dread eaters have dramatically increased since the siege of Absalom by the Archwizard Nex, when the Eldest allegedly disappeared, remains a disturbing coincidence.

Familiar's Soulstone
Aura moderate necromancy; CL 9th
Slot none; Price 7,500 gp; Weight 1 lb.
Description
A familiar's soulstone resembles a large, rough red gem the size of a fist. The bearer can use the gem to perform an hour-long ritual and bind the soul of his familiar, animal companion, or bonded mount to it. Once this bond is established, the only way to sever it is to destroy the gem. A creature may only have one familiar's soulstone bound to it, and a familiar's soulstone may only be bound to a single creature.
Should the bonded creature die while on the same plane as its familiar's soulstone, its soul is syphoned into the gem, where it'll be preserved for 24 hours. If the soul is not extracted from the gem within that time, the gem crumbles to dust, automatically releasing the soul.
Touching the gem to the body of the deceased bonded creature for a full minute restores it to life as per the spell raise dead. This action destroys the gem.
A witch's familiar brought back to life using a familiar's soulstone retains all of its stored spells.
Construction
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, raise dead; Cost 6,250 gp

Didn't realize it was a threat, let's roll a confirmation! *roll* *roll*

Critical Confirmation: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Critical Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 3

Sorry I didn't say it before explicitly, I thought it was a given Anežka would grab the weapon she specifically prepares every night for emergencies when one arises... I believe I mentioned it as her 'sleeping ritual' when asked what our characters would do during their first night at the Goblin. Anežka always loads her crossbow and keeps it under the bed. If something bad happens (like, for instance, someone enters her room uninvited), she grabs it and she's ready for anything! Of course, this also means that right now she has with her only the one bolt she just fired... xD

Keara eats her meal in silence, her head lowered, lost in thoughts, and still a little bit shaken by the events of the night before.

When Niklos leaves the barn, Keara finally raises her head, looks at him for a few seconds with a puzzled expression on her face, then swiftly finishes her meal and follows him outside.

Once out in the open, she looks thoughtfully around, untill finally her gaze settles towards the forest.

By the Eternal Rose's grace, what a night!... There is something wrong going on in this place... I thought I'd be smarter to stay separated for now, so he could scout ahead and... Besides he usually hates other people, expecially if... But now... Yes, it's better to stay together from now on... I just hope he won't scare the villagers too much!

Keara empathically calls out to Azlan, urging him to finally come out in the open and rejoin her.

DM Black Dow, everyone if interested:
Since I failed to join back to help fight the wolves (sorry!), I'm taking the liberty to assume Keara, between trying to calm and call back Azlan (her AC) and trying to undestand what was going on, missed the bulk of the fight, or at least didn't manage to contribute in any significant way. Also when the fight was over, there was no need for Azlan to come to her anymore, so he stayed in the forest for the night.

This way any possible inconsistences about what happened to Keara should be settled (I hope)! If not, please feel free to tell me so and I'll correct her actions.

Hello everyone!

I'm so sorry I wasn't there when the game reignited :(. As I've already told Black Dow, when the game slowed down I really thought it was the end for it and stopped checking in... It was also a difficult time for me, as I was unemployed (and desperately looking for a job) and had personal problems with my family, so I abandoned pathfinder altogether to focus on solving RL matters.

Fortunatly, now I'm much better and I have time again for playing just a little bit of good old D&D, at least online!

Well, it's good to be back! (and sry again for disappearing...)

Knowledge (Local): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18

And what in the Eternal Rose's name was THAT supposed to mean?... Well, if this ain't peachy now, just arrived here and this place's already givin' me the creeps...

Trying to suppress a vague sense of discomfort caused by the peculiar display Anna and the children just offered, Keara tries to lighten the mood by smiling brightly at the middle aged woman and introducing herself.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Anna; I'm Keara, and these are my companions." She states, then proceeds by pointing to each of her companions in turn and briefly introducing everyone to the middle aged woman.

After presentations are done, she thanks the woman for her offer and swiftly turns around towards the party to inquire if its acceptable for everyone to pay up and sleep in Anna's barn for the night.

If no one objects, she nods satisfied, proceeds to collect the money from everyone and delivers the sum to Anna with a bright smile on her face (despite feeling a little bit unsettled by this whole situation).

Of course, if instead someone has something else to say, disregard the previous passage and assume Keara politely stops and listens to what they have to say.

Just to further dispel confusion, my character has only written "Leith" and "of Brevoy". No one has even spoken to him... yet. :D

If this is due to what Keara said to Willas, I'm sorry I really didn't mean to mix what I know as a player and what my char knows. I just assumed Keara knew everyone's full name from reading the signatures on the chart we signed.

I say to avoid this kind of inconveniences in the future, our chars should really start to know each other better (maybe chatting a bit during their trip to Oleg's Trading Post? Just a suggestion ^_^).

Listening to the swordlord's words, Keara feels her head start spinning...

Untill now, she thought this expedition would be an exciting adventure, sure, from which she could've gained fame, fortune and maybe a well placed connection with some grateful noble... But to be a Landlord!? Would the brevic nobility really allow them to claim the freed land as their own?

By Shelyn's blessed glaive! So many possibilities! Once the Greenbelt is clear of bandits, we could call in settlers, and establish farms, and build a safe road for traders! and... And... So much more!

Completely overwhelmed by the prospective, and with barely a passing consideration about the dangers and difficulties that surely such an ambitious project would meet, Keara steps forward, approaches the table, and in short order her elegant signature is placed on both documents.

When she steps back from the table, her pearl-white grin is so wide she could blind people with it...

Keara gracefully extends a slender arm and takes the document the Swordlord is offering, giving a slight bow at the same time.

"With pleasure, Milady." She smiles, politely clears her throat, then proceeds to read the charter aloud for everyone to hear. She reads the document clearly and without haste, trying to give each sentence the right weight; her warm, pleasant voice loud enough to be heard by all present without sounding pompous.

When done, Keara smiles to her 'audience', and patiently waits for Lady Jasna to continue.

Keara enters the room walking slowly and with confidence. She is dressed in common traveler's garments: sturdy leather boots, a plain leather skirt, a white shirt, short gloves, and a dark cloak. Despite their simplicity, her clothes seem immaculate, as if brand new, and cut in such a way as to emphasize every curve of her body, without actually showing any more skin than the norm.

Her eyes locked on Swordlord Jasna, she listens attentively to her speech, smiling broadly when offered the expensive wine.
She takes a small sip from the steaming mug, forcing herself not to show her discomfort when the strong drink burns her throat, striving to seem at ease and in control.

Don't screw this up, don't screw this up! Remember what Ma always said: even if you're scared to death, act confident, and they'll belive you are confident! Very well, I can do this... Calm down... Calm down...

When Niklos knocks his mug to the ground, she forces herself to suppress a giggle. Oh my, and I thought I was nervous! Uhmm... Better clean this mess up before lady Jasna loses her temper.

With a flick of her wrist and a few unintelligible words, the pool of spilled wine starts receding, becoming smaller and smaller till it disappears completely, the floor once again spotless. As if on cue, the knocked mug raises itself from the floor, slowly levitating till its once again on the table.

Keara casts Prestidigitation to clean up the mess and levitate the mug.

Keara offers a candid smile to the other guests, glad she was able to help. Then, still smiling, she turns towards Lady Jasna and finally introduces herself.

"Milady, my name is Keara Caradas. Its a pleasure and and honor to be here today, and I give you my most sincere thanks for your gracious hospitality."

She bows slightly, then waits for Jasna (or anyone else) to say something.

what are your expectations from the GM/game?
to not play favourites (I've had some bad experiences...), to post often and set a good pace and atmosphere for the game; and if any problem should ever arise, to tell us so we could try to help him! We are all on the same boat after all!

What are your expectations from other players?
to get along, to be mature, to post often, and if something should ever go wrong to discuss the problem openly with the others (no passive-aggressive or otherwise disruptive behaviour, it ALWAYS ends up ruining the mood).
Also, I'd like for everyone to really get along and become a group of friends, not just a few polite strangers that happen to be playing together. It's the best way to have fun playing the game! ^_^
