"Two months?!" Wax gets ahold of himself quickly and actually starts to blush. "No that doesn't matter. I didn't know Bort that well but he seemed a good fellow and no one should have to go out that way. I'll help anyway I can. What should we do though? I'm no constable."
Wax takes the offered drink, downs it, and asks if he can have another. After his second drink he says, "Maybe it's time I settled somewhere..." and then heads off to bed.
Wax is stunned speechless, but only for a moment. "Poison!? Why would someone poison Bort? What is going on here?!"
Wax turns to Delma and the man and snarls, "No everything is not okay you buffoon! He's dying!" Then he shouts twice as loudly as before, "SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING!"
Wax starts laughing harder as Bort coughs. Then he realizes it's not a laugh-cough. He leaps out of his chair, "No he's not alright! Somebody do something!"
"That bar fight was far too brief to be a very good tale. At least, before I spruce it up a bit anyway!" Wax laughs at his own joke as he sits down for some dessert.
Wax waits to see if the fight calms down but he's ready to keep tripping people who want to continue.

"But what if this lout wants to get a little pummeling of his own in?" Wax whips out his, er, whip and tries to trip the two closest brawlers.
Trip: You try to knock an opponent to the ground. Attempt an Athletics check against the target’s Reflex DC.
Critical Success The target falls and lands prone and takes 1d6 bludgeoning damage.
Noticing that Esha is not enjoying the story about giants, Wax changes the subject. "That's a pretty good one Bort. But the stew reminds me of an even better one. "I was travelling around playing songs, as a bard does, and had fallen on some hard times. I made my way into this village but no one there had any desire to listen to my music. So I was broke. And very hungry. No one in this village wanted to share any of their vittles though so I was in a tough spot. Then, I had a grand idea. I filled my pot up with some water, put a stone inside and set it over a fire. One of the villagers walked by and asked what I was making. 'Stone soup,' I said. He was very skeptical but I am quite persuasive and sold him on how great stone soup is. 'It would be much better with some vegetables though,' I told the fellow. So he ran home and brought back some potatoes. Another villager walked by and fell for my spiel and brought us some seasoning. "Before long the whole village smelled our concoction and brought all sorts of ingredients. I took the stone out of the stew and we made it a village-wide banquet!"
Wax thanks Bort and takes a seat. He eats in a more civilized way but doesn't seem to mind Laurel's table manners. "That is an odd coincidence. I hope we weren't brought together by fate. That usually means trouble!" Wax laughs at his own joke quite heartily.
Seeing a crowd gather, Wax forgoes playing music. "Come one come all! For an extremely limited time and for your eyes only! See the Exciting Esha and her amazing Barrel Roll tumbling act! Will she fall in and be shipped to Cheliax?! There's only one way to find out!"
"At least Phinick is smart enough to know whether someones's talking to him or not," Wax offers to the brute when he insults the goblin. Tezadwax has never been a big fan of bullies.
Tezadwax's song comes to a sudden halt. He walks over to Laurel and whispers, "For your own safety I wouldn't mention the circus anymore,kid."
Wax forcibly looks away from Oosa, "I suppose we will need rooms. Some cheese and bread sounds fine. If you guys don't mind, I'll be over here playing my fiddle and NOT thinking about eating rats." Wax plays a few song little pieces of song, perhaps trying to write something new.
"Hey Bort, is this place always such a ghost town?"
"Oh I just love collecting stories. And a poor, pitiful vagabond such as myself never passes up a free meal!"
"I think I'll stay with Oosa. Not that I'm weak or anything. It's just...manual labor? Ew."
Tezadwax is not as exited as Esha, at first. He'd seen a scrap or two in his days. He easily gets caught up in her excitement, however. "Indeed we did! This calls for a drink! ...Er for those of us old enough anyway." He eyes Laurel as he makes his addendum. Putting down a few wolves isn't usually cause for a celebration but Esha seems as though she might need a bit of encouragement. Besides, who needs an excuse to have some ale?

Wax sees Esha's reaction to killing the wolf. Oh Esha, you aren't yet the killer I first took you for, he thinks. I forget sometimes how the circus folks found less trouble than a lone traveller. Of course those giants proved that isn't always true. Time to pay attention Wax. Tezadwax had been playing his song on instinct while he lost himself in his thoughts. With his mind back on the problem at hand he weaves a few new lines into the march. Now his tune gives off the impression of a city burning during a battle. A ball of flame appears in front of his instrument and shoots off towards the big ugly wolf.
One good thing about society(well it can be a double edged sword) is that recruitment runs on a first come first serve basis so it's easy to get into games. And thats mostly what is offered on these boards.
Esha has that wiki thing I was talking about. This page should also have some more of the generic info you might want.
As far as its related to this game, its a very strange off the path situation. Usually Society play is about playing short ( usually 4 hour or so in person) games with a character that you carry around between them. You usually don't play with the same people in each. If you are curious the best thing to do is probably to read the society guide. The problem there is that the 2e society guide is a wiki thing and I would bet it's hard to follow for someone who isn't already familiar. I might read either the 1e or Starfinder society guide, which is free and downloadable from the store here I'm pretty certain. Usually Society games are run in adventures written specifically for Society play. Some things, like the Fall of Plaguestone, get okayed to be run for society credit(getting credit for society games is how you level up your character) but are kinda weird. You either have to run it like a society scenario, which is frankly a headache, or you run it like you would a home game and get generic society credit to apply to a society character.
I think it would have been my reaction action from the first round and I now have another reaction if necessary. I didn't express that very well
The new wolf only appears at the start of round two, but the effect is the same from you initiative point. It doesn't make a lot of mechanical difference with those rolls anyway. I'm not sure exactly what you mean here but Counter Performance is a Reaction so it goes off whenever the wolf did it's howl. Basically everyone could use my 18 instead of whatever they got on their will save as it happened so it would be retroactive in a pbp. If 18 still fails then it doesn't really matter here though. The cool thing about campaign mode(at least in 1e) is that it doesn't block off your society character because it's like you played a pregen. And I don't think you have to change anything about the way you would run it, but I could be wrong.
If you preview your post it'll show you the roll and then you can react to what you got. When you post it will keep the same roll as the preview.
Counter Performance:
Your performance protects you and your allies. Roll a Performance check for a type you know: an auditory performance if the trigger was auditory, or a visual one for a visual trigger. You and allies in the area can use the better result between your Performance check and the saving throw.
Wax tries to drown out the wolf's howl with a screeching note.
Wax moves closer to the sound of the howl and goes back to his battle march.
I think in 2e they officially made it just doubling. But rolling twice is always cool with me.

Tezadwax looks at Esha sadly but senses that now is not the time. "Yes, right. So, I was waiting for a request," Wax says while putting his instrument under his chin.
"Oh no..." Then he quickly looks back at Esha, "Oh no, dear. You can't blame yourself." Wax wraps her back up in a hug and says no more.
Wax had thought he had seen a gnome he recognized signing up to go along with his caravan, but now that this warrior was rushing him he was sure he had been mistaken. "I swear it's not mine! he shouts just before she reaches him. When she wraps him up in a hug he reconsiders once more. He looks down, pushing his purple hair out of his eyes. "Esha is that you? I didn't recognize you with all this stuff. Well, I did at first but then you looked like you were going to kill me. But then you didn't. Anyway, it's great to see you! Did you leave the circus? How's everybody doing? You know I was about to come visit but here you are so tell me all the gossip." He bombards her with a flurry of words, as only a gnome can.
Another day, another caravan. Tezadwax walks along next to the passenger wagon, fiddle in hand. He looks around as though he has lost something, or someone. He gives a shrug and walks over to the goblin sitting on the bench. "What kind of music does your friend like? I know a song or two about rats. Even one where it doesn't get eaten by a cat! I bet that's the one he'd like...She'd like?"
There's an app (on android anyway) that I like called pathbuilder 2. It's pretty neat for creating characters. I used it for Tezadwax in fact. The only reason I didn't have Unseen Servant at first was just forgetting to copy it over. I guess now is a good a time as any to ask this. What are your thoughts on using a finesse weapon to add dex on trip and disarm, Nevynxxx? By my reading of the rules it seems that it is intended to be that way but it isn't explicitly spelled out and some people think that my reading is incorrect. If you say no then I won't argue.
I meant fluff background. I don't know what her crunchy one is either.
Oh yeah, I did forget. So I have a background tie with Esha. Tezadwax is a rolling stone so if anyone else wants to have something that should be doablem
Oh yeah if it says checks and dc's that would have been a real bear. I was thinking Wax would be more like a family friend. He knew her parents or an aunt or something much better than Esha. Someone she only saw every 5 years or something. I thought it would be better if he didn't know about the attack. And I'm not sure but I don't think I explained the max dex thing well and I'm gonna mention it again just in case because I think that'll be useful either way too. The maximum dex on an armor applies to AC and that's it. If a hypothetical character has a +5 dex bonus and they're wearing armor with a max dex of 3 but no check penalty then their ac only gets +3 from dex but all of their skills get +5 from dex.
