I was wondering if the powers that be have ever considered sending the subscribers a voucher to pick up which ever mag they getat a store instead of sending the actual magazine in the mail. The reason I ask is because more often than not, when I get may subs in the mail, the magazine is mauled in some way. So, I thought that maybe this would allow those of us that like to keep our mags in good shape another option.
Some advantages of this would be that as I recall, that mags usually get to the newstand before reaching most of the subscribers anyway, so it may help that way. Also, stores that carry these mags will likely like a setup like this as it will get people into the stores more often giving them more chances to sell. I figured it might cost less to distribute mags this way (in bulk v.s. individually) as well so the cost of the mag could be reduced. I suppose that these voucher could also be emailed somehow and printed off by the enduser to take into the store and trade it in for the magazine. I would think that would help reduce costs even more.
Anyway, its just an idea I had... is it goofy...or does it have any merit?
