Terrence speaks up first. "In our investigation, the Arbiter pointed us towards his assistant. The assistant was at home, so we went to visit to gather more information on the subject of the Senator's death. When we arrived, there was Rakdos cult activity on the premises. We saved several people's lives and in the chaos of saving these people the Arbiter's assistant seems to have run to Rix-Maadi.
"Pursuing him is far too dangerous, we are investigators not soldiers. Returning to the Arbiter doesn't seem the right path either." Terrence pauses for a moment pacing back and forth in contemplation. As he paces he continues. " Perhaps a meeting with Arrester Lavinia, to update her on the situation. The assistant to an Arbiter being involved with the Rakdos cult, is quite unnerving and makes this situation quite complex."
As they walk Terrence says quietly to Felicia. "Its disconcerting to see the body of someone disintegrate, but we can't do much about it for now."
Terrence gives a nod to the Doctor. He turns to Felicia. "The Doctor has the right idea. We need to search the rest of the house and make sure no one else is in danger and that the house is no longer occupied. I have no doubt that anyone else in here heard the commotion." Terrence turns, motioning Felicia to follow.
Terrence shifts to stop being flanked by the cultists. He then attacks the cultist that tried to strike him twice.

As they enter the house, Terrence points in the direction of the room he saw the assistant with the knife. "Its that way." He says to Felicia, continuing to follow behind her.
Terrence nods to Felicia and the Doctor as they take down the man. "I cannot see in the dark either." He smirks as Felicia charges in. He draws his two short swords and follows her in.
Terrence watches Felicia start walking towards the man. He smiles as he follows behind her.
"I agree with Felicia. We don't have much time to lose." Terrence looks towards the door and the man sitting next to it. He takes a deep breath for a moment, his hands resting on his two shortswords at his side. "Is everyone ready?"
Terrence speed walks up to the the group waiting at the cafe. Clearly in a bit of a hurry, as soon as he is close enough he speaks. "We need to go in now. The assistant might have just been stabbed with a ritual knife by a Rakdos cultist."
Terrence scans through the windows as best as he noting everything he sees before making his way back to the group still waiting at the cafe.
As Terrence sees the man getting pulled into a conversation with Felicia, he gets up from the cafe and begins to make his way towards the side of the house to try and get an idea if whats inside.
Terrence gestures towards the street away from the building. "Very well. After you"
Terrence scans over the building and surrounding area for a minute before turning back to the group. ”Okay, I think I see a good spot I can do a bit of scouting at.” He points to the wall that is near the cafe. ” If any of you can pull attention from over there for a few minutes, it would make my job a bit easier.”
Terrence nods to the group and that looks over towards the house. If he is Terrence will not be scouting, if he isn't then he will.
"I can do some sneaking if required, but it seems like I might be the only one who can do it." He looks over at the other party members, getting an idea of how well each could hide themselves. "I can sneak ahead and get an idea of what we are dealing with. If you consider yourself somewhat good at stealth you are free to join me."
”I feel quite proud to be assigned to a task like this. The investigation has been well done until now. The group has been surprisingly well organized and are putting quite the effort into it. Their progress on their own has been surprising and beyond my expectations.
For GM:
Terrence turns and takes a slight bow to the group before they leave. ”I wish you all the best of luck”
"Any information on where we believe this person or people might operate mainly in? Do they stick to specific districts? Any commonality in the victims, like all wealthy, male, etc? Anything along those lines would be greatly extremely useful."
Terrence listens calmly to the Doctor speak. When she apologizes he makes a dismissing wave towards the Doctor. ”It is no trouble at all.” He turns his attention back to the Arbiter. ”My companions here recently did an autopsy on the body of the Senator. They unfortunately found the marks of the Massacre Girl on the body. Do you have any information on her that could provide?”
"Dealing with the Golgari is always quite an annoyance." Terrence looks at the other party members before refocusing on the Arbiter. "Arbiter for clarification, are you saying that you had no dealing with what the Senator was working on or our investigation into his death?"
Terrence takes several steps forwards and then gives a slight bow to the Arbiter. "Arbiter, I am Investigator Terrence. I was recently assigned to assist this group-" He motions to the group behind him. "-in the investigation into Senator Platicar IV's death. I was absent for much of their initial investigation, so they would be better able to answer any questions might have. First and foremost however, we are here to gather what information you may have on this incident, any help would be greatly appreciated."
Terrence looks towards Thomas for a second. "Good job." He faces the rest of the party. "An interview sounds much more favorable than potentially diving into the belly of the beast." (Assuming that Terrence knows where to find Arbiter Sarv) "If the rest of you are ready, I can lead us there."
"I'm not of the arcane persuasion, so I cannot assist in that area." Terrence looks towards the Doctor. "What is the address shown on the note?"
"I had no knowledge of this interview. Is there anything I need to be updated on since it looks like I'm drawing conclusions on incomplete information. With the interview in mind, assuming there is nothing else pressing in the near future I suggest we go with that for now."
"It seems all of you have already been relatively thorough with the autopsy and checking out the crime scene. With that in mind, I think our best option will be to go to the source and investigate further." Terrence pauses for a moment. He looks over each of the people in the room before speaking. "My first suggestion would be pretending to be one of the cultists but some of you don't seem the type and would stand out like a sore thumb, which doesn't leave very many good options."
Terrence's interest is piqued upon Felicia mentioning the murder weapon. "I did not realize anyone had been to the scene, but this doesn't make our job any easier unfortunately." Terrence thinks for a moment. "I presume the wand was expended of its abilities, which might be why it was discarded. Was it hidden, or out in the open?"
Terrence looks at Ermengilda first. "Do you have a preferred way of being addressed, or is Doctor fine for you?" He takes a step forward, getting a better look at the body before shifting his gaze to Felicia. "The pleasure is mine." His gaze shifts back to the body, looking it up and down. "I do not want to reinvent the wheel, do any of you mind getting me up to speed on your findings so far?"
Terrence walks into the room, scanning it quickly before taking a few steps forward. "I hope you don't mind my intrusion, was unfortunately tied up with prior engagements until now. As he said, I am Investigator Terrence. May I have your names?" |
