To answer the GMs question, I definitely had in mind heroic Raiden, with the distinct possibility of becoming corrupted if appropriate circumstances happened in game. Although he has died and returned to life countless times, his soul has somehow been cast out, a fact that causes him much angst. But . . . the list of completed submissions has me totally intimidated! I think it's a bit too much for me to take on at the moment. So I'll rescind my proposed submission. Really appreciate that you were open to it! And to everyone else, good luck!
Hello! I have a concept for this game that I'd like to float to see if it fits. Basically, I want to build Raiden from Mortal Kombat. It's certainly not a standard D&D cosmology, so if that's not what you're looking for I am happy to put my creative energies into something you're more likely to enjoy. In terms of class, I am leaning toward gestalting Unchained Monk and Psion, if Psion is approved. If not, then quite possibly Sorcerer. Either combination seems reasonable for combining unarmed combat and lightning powers.
Good day! Tazo here, and thank you for the invitation. I haven't read the gameplay thread, but I have skimmed the discussion thread and I understand that some characters departed due to philosophical differences. I'm very sorry to hear about that. I played with AdamWarnock a long time ago on these Boards, and we had a great run through many levels of the Emerald Spire until real-life caught up to our GM. About me, I'm extremely open-minded and can roll with just about anything. I am comfortable with in-game conflict with the understanding that we're all trying to get along out-of-character (at least in PbP--I can't actually say particularly mean things in-person, even if roleplaying). I enjoy fast paced games, and will try to keep up--I'm on the other side of a busy period, so it's probably just as well I wasn't in this game until now. As for my character, Muziel is unlikely to be an instigator, other than being socially clueless because he has terrible charisma. I tweaked Muziel and submitted him into another game, but I will be withdrawing that application and will make an appearance here, hopefully tonight. Looking forward to gaming!
Hi Ironperenti, Seeing it on your list of possible races, can you tell me your thoughts about Lizardfolk society and whether there's a plausible submission for this campaign? I'm potentially interested in a Lizardfolk with an animal companion class (e.g. Wild Child Brawler, Hunter, Druid) and a reptilian companion (crocodile or snake, etc.) who found his way into the Pathfinder Society after serving as a hired guide for a number of their adventures. Also, how do you view the effect of your modified ABP on having multiple weapons? Does it apply to all proficient attacks or just a specific weapon (which is the original rule)? -Tazo
More musings:
Will keep noodling this. Thanks so much!
Hello! Dotting here with the hope that I can put something together in time for what looks like an epic campaign! I'm interested in submitting what would conceptually be a multi-classed Mage/Thief! It's a class I enjoyed in earlier editions of D&D, and seems like a fun character for Forgotten Realms and your house rules. Mechanically, I'm not exactly sure how I'll do it, but the most obvious idea I had was using an Eldritch Scoundrel Rogue as its core. In terms of the "free archetype," please let me know if that seems okay in terms of power level. The benefits I would gain over a traditional Eldritch Scoundrel:
*Edit* - Another way to do it is to build toward the Arcane Trickster prestige class. I could try that if you prefer!
As I make my first foray into Pathfinder 2e with a halfling, I'm going to submit what I think is the most obvious character possible--a Rogue with the Thief Racket! My basic character concept is a former halfling slave who escaped to the big city of Darkwater Crossing, and has worked as a guard for a halfling-only business (that specializes in working with former slaves). I view him as a fighter for the rights of halflings and extremely suspicious of and prejudiced against tall folk. I also want to make him an unnervingly intimidating little guy. If he ends up in an all-halfling party, he'd be pretty happy; in a mixed group, he'll definitely be trying to one-up the other martial-focused tall folk. Here's what I put together on Pathbuilder. If there's interest, I'd be happy to create an alias with a statblock also.
Hello DJDust, I'm a late 30s Californian and got my start with computer RPGs, first Baldur's Gate and later Neverwinter Nights. Joined my first live group playing AD&D after moving to Maryland for a job as an engineer and wanting to meet some folks, while also getting into World of Warcraft for a time. Decided to make a career change and went to law school, where I found another group playing 4E D&D. Also met my future wife in law school and got a job back in California. Now we have a 3-year-old! And three small dogs. Lacking time to commit to a regular gaming day, I picked up PBP to scratch my roleplaying itch, and have really come to enjoy it. The 4E group I had been playing with decided to switch to Pathfinder, and while I didn't get a chance to play it with them, the change inspired me to examine and appreciate PF1e. I'm totally new to PF2e, though I've been teaching myself the basics recently. I post pretty regularly except when work becomes overwhelming, which happens from time to time, but I still make my way back--you already know my posting habits from your other game. Ancestry: 1d100 ⇒ 75 That's the third halfling!
I see that TarkXT's original post asked for 4-5 players, so here's a proposal for a fifth player--Krovek Vorenus, Pharasmin monster hunter. If TarkXT does want to run this game and wants a fifth player, I'm excited to join! If he'd rather stick with 4 players, I'm happy to leave this game to others as I don't mean to take anyone else's spot. Details in the profile.
Hello again! Please find my submission for Rik'tik, Lizardfolk Ranger, and his trusty crocodile companion Grasz. Though an outsider to Otari, Rik'tik is a wanderer from his insular lizardfolk community in the nearby swamplands. As the Gauntlight ignites signaling an unexpected threat, Rik'tik is motivated to act even as his people choose deliberate indifference. Details are in the alias. As I mentioned, this is my first time playing Pathfinder 2e, so I'm not totally sure what I'm doing. But it seems like the rules are pretty forgiving as long as I focus on hitting things, so my character has both high dexterity and strength to do so. I haven't really even decided whether to go bow and arrow or two-weapon fighting--but I spent all my money on animal barding so it's melee/thrown for Level 1. In terms of archetypes, I was sort of thinking of picking up Druid spellcasting so I can be an old-school ranger with spells, but I will probably be figuring that out as we go. Thanks for the consideration and, if nothing else, pushing me to start learning 2e rules!
Sounds fun to me! I like the prospect of taking on a character that seems interesting and that I probably wouldn't have thought to create myself. Would go for any of these:
I probably would want to apply with the hopes of playing a specific character in mind among the options you're suggesting.
Hello! Please find my submission for Yasmin al Akbar and her Roc companion Crag. Yasmin is a Halfling Hunter|Swashbuckler (Mouser). Conceptually, she's whirling dervish meets mythical beast from Middle-Eastern lore! Yasmin focuses on being a practitioner of mounted combat, but has the option of using her mouser abilities to move into enemy squares. Flavorwise, I imagine this as potentially leaping "onto" the opponent, since my character and the enemy would share the same square! Background is in the alias. I attempted to answer most of the suggested background questions through the narrative.
Hello! It took me a while to figure this one out, but please find my submission for Talindra Misraria and her figment raven familiar Muninn. The elevator pitch is that Talindra is an elf who has developed split personality as a defense against mental trauma. But one of those personalities inhabits her body, while the other inhabits a figment of her imagination--her illusory raven familiar. The fact that she was formerly mind-swapped might somehow have contributed to this result (perhaps, who's to say?). Mechanically, Talindra is an Illusionist Wizard, since she somehow has the power to create a living illusion. She also has the Pact Wizard archetype (Haunted Heroes Handbook version)--whatever dark powers now help fuel her magic will catch up with her at some point. Thanks for your consideration!
Hello, I will gladly re-submit a character with a few background tweaks and a new name. Please find my submission for Moira the Lost, a Rogue/Slayer. Hoping she'll be a good complement to the party!
Greetings! I'm quite interested in applying--I've previously began a Second Darkness campaign that I very much enjoyed but that came to an end after Book 1. While I remember some aspects of that game, I don't remember all the details and I promise not to use any information I might remember as a spoiler. My basic concept is that an Abadarian has come to Riddleport, sent by his superiors ostensibly in a quest to bring order to this lawless place, although perhaps actually sent because they were really tired of dealing with him. Arriving in town, he joins the most "lawful" organization he can find, the Riddleport Gendarmes! Roleplay wise, he's kind of a fish out of water in Riddleport, which I hope will have some humorous effect. Build-wise, he's a crossbow-wielder with designs on the Sentinel presige class, worshipping Abadar. I've heard that Gunslinger (Bolt Ace) is the most viable crossbow build, so maybe I do that. Anyway, hope that's of interest. Let me know if you have suggestions or think I should go a different direction. Otherwise I'll start noodling the actual build.
Alright, after messing around with an indigenous character, I decided instead to play it straight. Here is Wes Higgins, Human bounty hunter, an old hand in the Wild West. I built him off the Urban Hunter archetype of the Hunter to deal nonlethal damage, and picked up the Ranged Disarm feat so he can do the classic shoot a gun outta the other guy's hand move. Dual-wields revolvers. Would probably pick up a Gunslinger dip at level 5 if we get there.
I see there's a ton of interest already, but looking to submit an Argent Voice bard, to fill the skill monkey and arcane support roles! Will follow up soon.
Thanks so much! Please see my proposed submission for Agripos, a Brawler/Paladin! He's probably straight Paladin going forward; Brawler is there to qualify for Shield Brace at Level 1 since that's the theme of the build. Brawler also gives fun things like Martial Flexibility and unarmed strike. Agripos worships Athena, the goddess of wisdom and war.
Hello Ironperenti! Looks like you could use a frontliner. I'm interested in a Greek Hoplite type character using the Shield Brace feat and a polearm. Just wanted to double check that the mechanics are okay? I saw that you banned Unhindering Shield and feel compelled to ask.
Hello Shadow Fox, I'm interested in chipping in a dwarf that dual-wields shields--just strikes me as a dwarven concept. The vague thought at the moment would be Dex-based Slayer 3 / Rogue 3 that could fill the rogue's typical disable device/scouting role, though I need to figure out if I can make the feats work. If that's of potential interest, I'll aim to put together a build. Thanks,
Hey, I just wanted to check in as the player who's been offered a spot here! I meant to finish my character last week, but didn't quite do it. Working on pulling it together this week, sorry for the delay. The basic outline at the moment is a Dex-based occultist going Trappings of the Warrior. Maybe he will be a tacky occultist too!

I LOVE this idea! It’s an incidental tie-in that could suddenly become relevant!
Hello! I have in fact thrown the crunch together for Muziel Moreau, but I haven't had a chance to handle background. The seed of an idea I have is that Muziel found a Drow spellbook left over after a battle and decided to study it, rather than burning it as instructed. If the other six make their appearance, then I shall respectfully withdraw to allow others to enjoy the adventure!
My basic premise is a dwarf wizard from Janderhoff who joins the Pathfinder Society because his attraction to arcane magic doesn't quite fit in with dwarven society. I've been wanting to create a dwarven magic user for a while, and having the flexible stat bonuses certainly helps! I don't know that the character would have much of a tie-in to Hell or the Abyss, other than curiosity and a desire to explore! Will mess around with some ideas.
Squeezing this in the last minute! Training Vignette: "Put your legs into it, boy!" shouts Sir Dramott. As soon as Silvio heard that, his staff veered awkwardly off target, striking the ground. It was not easy for a halfling to put that much power behind his strikes. As Silvio left an opening, Dramott stepped in, hitting Silvio in the ribs with his training sword. "You left your guard down," continued Dramott. "If you were fighting an orc, you'd be dead now."
"Dying's . . . not . . . so . . . bad . . ." responded Silvio, trying to catch his breath. "Means I get . . . to rest." It'd been a long training session between running, shooting practice, and sparring. "You'd not be so tired if you kept the right form. You rely too much on your upper body." He shakes his head in mild disapproval. "Go grab yourself a drink." Silvio went for his waterskin and downed the cool, refreshing water, before pouring some over his head to wash up. "Sir Dramott, have you ever thought about settling down here?" "With who, lad? One of the merry tavern girls?" The paladin laughed, before turning his gaze northward, in the direction of Lastwall. "My heart belongs there, in the great nation of Lastwall, standing between civilization and the barbarians beyond. You should come with me the next time I go. You're a fearless spirit with a guardian's heart." Silvio had gotten this offer more than once. But today, it was feeling tempting. Because today was the anniversary of Tolmir's death. The shame of his failure that day bubbled up once more. "Maybe I will go," he finally said. "I've always wanted to prove myself. Seems like there's no better place than Lastwall." Sir Dramott was surprised. And then delighted. "No better place indeed, boy! I'll be going in a few weeks time, to report to my superiors. We can volunteer for a patrol or two, so you can get a real taste for adventure!" He gave Silvio a hearty slap on the back. "Come on, then. One last round." Silvio went at it again, trying to put his legs into it. It felt awkward at first, but as the muscle memory developed, Silvio started feeling like he was making progress. It was a good feeling to end on, as he and Sir Dramott closed their session by kneeling in prayer. Silvio clutched the bow and arrow of Erastil around his neck, praying that he might redeem Tolly's death by being a guardian to others.
