Yeah, congrats! Slice 'em and dice 'em and serve 'em up hot!

Thanks so much for this game. See you over on Tlan!

I might keep sorcerer but now as a free archetype and add something like Duelist's Parry in the feat slot it opens up because it's likely better than Shield for a character who always uses reactions to Aid, but I'm not 100% sure yet.

I'm also tempted to put some of what I've learned about the magus or investigator into play, but hey.

swash | .5lf lev. 3| 10/41 | ac 20 | per 7 | f 8 r 11 w 7| hero points 3

Great. Maybe I'll try to harden Tan so she can take a few more punches.

swash | .5lf lev. 3| 10/41 | ac 20 | per 7 | f 8 r 11 w 7| hero points 3

I can handle any role--if you want to get back into your wheelhouse, Leo, please do!

swash | .5lf lev. 3| 10/41 | ac 20 | per 7 | f 8 r 11 w 7| hero points 3

"And much to the efforts of our fey friend, too--small but mighty Leo!"

Tannakin tries to think of ways to use the pyrite rat to prank everyone. Wicked smiles flicker over her face...

Giant rat in the pantry. Giant rat in the basement. Giant rat in the lap. Giant rat in the... tub! Heheheh...

swash | .5lf lev. 3| 10/41 | ac 20 | per 7 | f 8 r 11 w 7| hero points 3

Tannakin shrugs and tosses the long bit of flotsam she'd picked up into the corner. "You're probably right, Julril. So, what next?"

swash | .5lf lev. 3| 10/41 | ac 20 | per 7 | f 8 r 11 w 7| hero points 3

"It's not just the fey, Leo! I'm constantly forgetting to reason. I don't always like disturbing the rest of the dead, for instance. I know it's almost always a bad idea, for instance. But I just can't, just can't, can't can't ever resist a good sarcophagus."

Tan starts looking around for a prybar of some kind...

swash | .5lf lev. 3| 10/41 | ac 20 | per 7 | f 8 r 11 w 7| hero points 3

I will be in the woods until Friday--please bot me if I'm holding up the game!

swash | .5lf lev. 3| 10/41 | ac 20 | per 7 | f 8 r 11 w 7| hero points 3

Tannakin laughs at the silly zombie before confidently attempting to put her sword through its eye:

Confident Finisher: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 201d6 + 2 + 2d6 ⇒ (2) + 2 + (5, 5) = 14

"Hang out, guys! As soon as I've got this zombie handled I'll try to help with that ghosty girl!"

"Airi, keep going, you're doing great! "

All for One: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13

Realizing that her advice was perhaps too general to be useful, Tannakin decides to do the smart thing and casts Shield.

swash | .5lf lev. 3| 10/41 | ac 20 | per 7 | f 8 r 11 w 7| hero points 3

I'm alive! And I should pay more attention...

Tannakin realizes that these are just zombies and tries to put them down for good:

◆ Confident Finisher w/panache from acrobatics last time: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 101d6 + 2 + 2d6 ⇒ (1) + 2 + (3, 4) = 10

Half precision damage: 3

"Dang."

She throws up ◆ Shield for AC 21.

Then, she calls advice to Airi: "It's a ghost! Remember when we used to freak ourselves out sneaking into the cemetery? Our plan was always to stab any ghosts to death, and it was a good plan!

One for All: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27

Paaaaanache!

swash | .5lf lev. 3| 10/41 | ac 20 | per 7 | f 8 r 11 w 7| hero points 3

Owwowow I'm Dying 2 I think!

Recovery Check: 1d20 ⇒ 9
Recovery Check Hero Point: 1d20 ⇒ 20

Woohoo!

Tannakin falls to the ground in a crumpled heap, thinking to herself that AC 20 just isn't what it used to be. She starts to dream of pirates feeding her pastries.

Unconscious at zero HP, I think?

Forum monster ate one! Trying again.

Tannakin finally recalls her knowledge (see above roll).

Then, she confidently hits the nearest zombie:

Confident Finisher: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 261d6 + 2 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 2 + (4, 5) = 14
If Crit: 1d20 + 2 + 2d6 + 1d8 ⇒ (16) + 2 + (5, 6) + (4) = 33

She then rolls through the zombs or zomb if she got one:

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19

swash | .5lf lev. 3| 10/41 | ac 20 | per 7 | f 8 r 11 w 7| hero points 3

Whoops, forgot Recall isn't free! My bad!

swash | .5lf lev. 3| 10/41 | ac 20 | per 7 | f 8 r 11 w 7| hero points 3

Almost forgot!

Recall Knowledge: Religion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

"RATS! I should have tried to remember what this thing is before I tried to stab it..."

What do we learn? Tan will call it out to her friends, whatever it is. Good thing she paid attention in Sunday school.

swash | .5lf lev. 3| 10/41 | ac 20 | per 7 | f 8 r 11 w 7| hero points 3

Tannakin puts her rapier and her offhand up on either side of her cheeks and SHRIEEEEKS her very best movie star shrill horror scream.

Then she shrugs, smiles, says "Just kidding!" and charges into action!

She tries to bowl straight through the ghost...

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24

...but she can't resist dropping to her knees for a theatrical slide n' twist. Assuming that's a success...

She tries stabbing the scary! ghosty! girl!!

Confident Finisher Flanking: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Damage if hit: 1d6 + 2 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 2 + (4, 4) = 13
4 damage if a miss

A quick word of encouragement to the rogue: "Remember when we were little and you were still scared of ghosts? Stab this one for me, my bff (best flankin' friend)!"

All for One!: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27

Aid success! Panache!

Just checking out the 2e champion and wow, redeemer and liberator both look waaay more fun than the trad LG paladin. We're joking that if the two of us ever play in a campaign together again, we'll go as one of each. Every bad guy will have two armored holy folk take him by each shoulder. One will say "You don't have to do whatever your boss says, man." And the other will say, "Whatever you've done in the past, the future is the future."

...I am not sure I'm ready for level 7 PF2e but I also need to find another game. Right now this is my only one!

Anyone got any leads on a good low-level game or am I actually gonna have to start one? Or is that higher-level game still in need of a player, Dorian?

No offense taken at all! I've been teaching writing at the college level for ten years and my classes are popular and highly rated (as high as the scale goes, sometimes). But I'm not a famous author and my department has finally cut me loose.

Gonna work on these stories, who knows?

As for a campaign, check again mid-April! I've got a lot of stuff to do in the meantime.

Ok! I will start daydreaming about 2e preremaster characters.

swash | .5lf lev. 3| 10/41 | ac 20 | per 7 | f 8 r 11 w 7| hero points 3

Would Darkest Dungeon be 2e or 2.5e?

swash | .5lf lev. 3| 10/41 | ac 20 | per 7 | f 8 r 11 w 7| hero points 3

I love the Darkest Dungeon idea and I like playing different classes, so it's a non-issue if I'm on the hypothetical delve. Of course, it might take me a while to get a handle on 2e beyond swashbuckler.

I am so out of the loop. I just went to look at mocking up a cleric I would be excited to play and I'm like, what is all this "remastered" business? No ability scores whaaaaat?

Tannakin looks around, confused. "You ok, Airi? That looks like it hurt!"

Delay until I see something to stab or some way to help...

Tan takes a peek too, remembering to shake down Frasier for loose change before heading after Julril:

swash | .5lf lev. 3| 10/41 | ac 20 | per 7 | f 8 r 11 w 7| hero points 3

39/41 AKA close enough!

Tannakin licks a scratch on the back of her hand and grins. "That was kinda fun. I'll miss Frasier."

swash | .5lf lev. 3| 10/41 | ac 20 | per 7 | f 8 r 11 w 7| hero points 3

A little distracted by the epic battle in the game Julril's DMing. But I wanted to tell Dorian that Bedlam would be very proud of the way I'm using tanglefoot bag spam on a major-major enemy.

swash | .5lf lev. 3| 10/41 | ac 20 | per 7 | f 8 r 11 w 7| hero points 3

Julril's game is getting super tense right now!

Tannakin rolls through the skeleton:

Acrobatics Tumble Through: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26

She pops up on the other side and tries to chop him up:

Confident Finisher: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29

Crit+Confidence+Deadly: 1d6 + 2 + 1d6 + 2 + 2d6 + 1d8 ⇒ (4) + 2 + (2) + 2 + (4, 6) + (8) = 28

She cackles as the bones clatter to the ground.

"Ahahaha!"

swash | .5lf lev. 3| 10/41 | ac 20 | per 7 | f 8 r 11 w 7| hero points 3

"Nice shot, Airi! And... did that wight just say his name was Frasier?!"

Tann gives Frasier a kick as she ◆ moves into his space next to Airi and starts attacking the skeleton between her and Julril.

But first, fishing for panache:

◆ One for All: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

"Let's take these bony ones down quick, Julril! I fake left, you go right. My right, not your right. Stage right."

This time her advice might not be the best...

"Ok, uh, I'll just..."

◆ Rapier Flanking: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 9 + 2 = 131d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

"Hmm. Well, good luck everyone!"

swash | .5lf lev. 3| 10/41 | ac 20 | per 7 | f 8 r 11 w 7| hero points 3

Tannakin feels the chill of the wight's foul magic as its claws rake through her armor:

Fort: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

It is darn cold, but not as distressing as it could be. She's also not afraid anymore.

Tannakin licks her lips at the wight.

"Let's mulch this dirt, Airi! One two three GOOOO"

One for All: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23

Confidence! Panache! +1 to Airi!

She aims her blade at the undead's eye socket:

Confident Finisher Flanking: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 9 + 2 = 152d6 ⇒ (5, 3) = 8

Maybe she should have just swung at it instead of going for the kill? Still, she wings it for 4 confident damage.

Once again, she puts up her Shield for a little extra protection. AC 21.

swash | .5lf lev. 3| 10/41 | ac 20 | per 7 | f 8 r 11 w 7| hero points 3

For the first time in a long, long time Tannakin feels the tightening, astringent, palpitating bitterness of fear.

"Please just kill it, Airi! You know how--blades to the bones."

One for All: 1d20 + 10 - 1 ⇒ (15) + 10 - 1 = 24

Despite her fear, her good advice fills her with enough confidence to get her swash on.

Confident Finisher Flanking Frightened: 1d20 + 9 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (13) + 9 + 2 - 1 = 231d6 + 2 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 2 + (4, 4) = 13

A lovely lunge!

"We're gonna kill you one last time!"

She then casts Shield and braces herself for the counterattack.

+1 AC=AC 21

"C'mon, wighty! Take your best shot! You're scary but I'm worse!"

swash | .5lf lev. 3| 10/41 | ac 20 | per 7 | f 8 r 11 w 7| hero points 3

Tannakin encourages Airi, "Ok, let's get to work on this! You go left, I'll go wight."

One for All: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28

Her pun fills her with confidence! And, as she's filled with dash and panache, she realizes she should actually go left because she'll have a bit more move speed than Airi, who is also a step behind.

Rolling up behind the wight, she says "Hi!" and stabs confidently.

Confident Finisher: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 91d6 + 2 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 2 + (6, 3) = 14

As so often happens with Tann's attacks (and puns), she misses with the main force of her thrust and does merely half her precision damage.

Four damage, I think? Damn wight.

"Don't you usually have the sticks, Leo? I can go get one... but I don't want to leave you in here."

"Have fun down there, I'm gonna be mushrooming."

Tannakin pulls out a handkerchief and twists it deftly into an improvised mushroom basket. She asks Ambrose if he knows how to find mushrooms by scent.

Then, if/when she sees the others leaning towards going underground, she shrugs and says, "What the hecks, I like caving too. But let's do some mushrooming on the way out, ok?"

swash | .5lf lev. 3| 10/41 | ac 20 | per 7 | f 8 r 11 w 7| hero points 3

"I LOVE this quest reward, Magiloy! Can I get some normal hot sauce, too?"

Tannakin trades in some of her gold for hot sauce, if available.

"We've been eating a ton of barbecue lately, and this is gonna make it soooo much better!"

"I love mushrooming! Let's go!!!"

My best mushroom haul this year! The bright orange lobster mushrooms were the best part. Chanterelles and a huge pig's ear gomphus, also great. Oyster mushrooms, delicious. There's also something I thought was a white chanterelle but isn't; didn't eat those. I found soooo many mushrooms this fall.

"Pantaloons are pants, but swashier. See?" Tannakin swashes her pantaloons to demonstrate.

"Nice shot, by the way! Also, Airi, can you untie this bag? I wanna see what all the fuss was about"

She then loots the kobolds, whistling to cover her somewhat sick stomach. Still not super used to buckets of blood. But it's getting easier.

swash | .5lf lev. 3| 10/41 | ac 20 | per 7 | f 8 r 11 w 7| hero points 3

Tan feels shocked. Shocked!

Ref: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22

But not too shocked. She laughs off the damage, her hair frizzing out in every direction.

She then Strides up to the Kobold and tries to get through it:

Tumble Through: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

She just barely fails to roll past the little bugger.

Frustrated, she stabs at it.

Rapier: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 121d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

"You are a nimble, annoying, shockingly rude pest!"
