I can build a rogue with that.

I played a "monk" once that used the game mechanics, but renamed all of them. He was basically re-skinned as a street tough with some British flavor. Wisdom represented intense street smarts, rather than spiritual connection.
I didn't rename them on the character sheet, I just called them different things while we were playing. "Me dad and me dad's dad were bouncers too, ya little tosser!" Sort of like Jason Stratham without the nice clothes. Core rules, no Asian flavor.

Shattered Star is a super-dungeon AP. It was supposed to give that "old-school delve" feel, while finding some way to break up the monotony. It did this by breaking what might have been one mega dungeon into 6 or 7 super dungeons, linked by story. The first levels are in the Crow. So, if we stay with it, it's dungeon-crawling from here on out. Pinch of salt: I own all the APs, and skimmed summary info when they were published, but I've only really read the AP's I've run as DM: Shackled City (ran twice), Rise of the Runelords (in final chapter with an online group). All I really know about the others is the "feel" and "gist". My guess is that RP will be most important when the location is somewhat static:

I'm happy to do what other folks want, either speed up play or change APs. I'll sure miss Tanjvats, though. Another option might be to not bite off an entire path, but do individual adventures. That way we could always be picking RP-heavy adventures. This is obviously dependent on Aard's access to material. (I have a ton of Dungeon mags, but no pdfs.) Here's the list of available APs (the ones Aard has nixed are struck-through). I have PDFs I'm willing to share for all of them, including the updated RotRL: Rise of the Runelords
Of those options, and the focus on RP, my top 3 would be:
Cleric 2 (AC: 14 [T: 10 /FF: 14] HP: 13/17; F+4, R+0, W+6 ; Init: +0; Perc: +3; Stealth: -3)
Blood surged from Tanjvats's mouth as the last ant crushed his belly with it's pincers. The blows of his comrades shuddered through the insect's body and as it fell, it ripped even more skin and flesh away. The half-orc staggered, trying to keep his footing in the slick pool of his own blood. "They need to die. All the way", he explained, waving his arm weakly to show the area to be cleared. Limping towards each ant body, he gave feeble blows with his mace until they were all dead. Once that was complete, he tried to focus his swimming thoughts on healing himself and Dareon. He slurred some garbled prayer, his eyes closed. "Protege of Curchanus, or Slayer, I don't care, make whole these bodies for your needs." Channel positive energy to get me and Dareon, but no living monsters.: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Cleric 2 (AC: 14 [T: 10 /FF: 14] HP: 13/17; F+4, R+0, W+6 ; Init: +0; Perc: +3; Stealth: -3)
Tanjvats began to feel Dareon's sense of joy as the tide turned against the ants. He felt the need to try a little jig as he stepped further around the ant to flank with Penance. mace: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 2 = 9 But he stumbled, and he was unable to bring his mace to bear as the ant continued to lunge and snap. You idiot, focus on your work, not having fun.

Tanjvats did his best to negotiate the swirling melee of swords, legs, and mandibles. He stepped to gain an opening on the ant remaining between his companions. 5'ft step to k-19 to flank with Dareon mace with flank: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 + 2 = 16
His blow glanced off the exoskeleton, and he was unsure if it even effected the ant. He tried not to think about the one still behind him.

Tanjvats grunted a tentative confirmation to Dareon, but then tried to focus on how to comply. Am I surrounding them, or myself? He took a swing and then shifted over, making more room for Kascio, if he needed it. Swing with my mace at J18 ant, flanking with Fade. 5-ft east to K18. mace and flank: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 2 = 10

Tanjvats jumped as the golden, armored bulk of Penance pushed past him towards the ant. He stared for a moment at the creatures back, entranced by its strange, implacable movement. I wonder.... Reluctantly, he moved forward and brushed his fingers on the eidolon's back. use Vision of Madness on Penance. He's +1 to attacks, but -1 to both skills and saves for 3 rounds. Domain power description says it affects "creatures".

Tanjvats stepped slightly to the side to get a better line on the ant and let loose with his crossbow. 5-ft-step north, fire into melee, reload attack: 1d20 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 1 - 4 = 14
As soon as the bolt sailed away, he began reloading his crossbow.

Tanjvats raised his eyes to answer Faedrin, thankful for his kind words "I saw something similar. And some other things", he added nervously. "I don't know what it means, or why it happens." He followed the others into the newly discovered chamber, both mortified and comforted by his conversation.

Tanjvats's throat started to seize up when confronted with the questions. He struggled to speak, however, wanting to apologize and explain. His voice was a rasping croak. "That's what happens when I get overly upset. It's not like that all the time. It comes out of me and people feel it. I'm not really a horrible..." his voice finally caught. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. I shouldn't have done that." His lowered his face in shame.

Tanjvats found his breathing returning to normal. Dazed, he turned to look over at Faedrin, wanting to acknowledge the vision they'd shared a few moments earlier. The elf seemed distracted, and Tanjvats decided to leave him alone. Picking up his crossbow, he drifted a few steps away and scanned the surrounding darkness as a way to avoid eye contact.

Sorry guys, I did a post this weekend, but apparently didn't get it saved correctly. Doh! Tanjvats shivered as the overly large spiders approached. "They've got the eyes, but can't see the light!" he said to everyone, sure that this was important information. He tugged urgently at Faedrin's arm, so that the elf would look closely at them. Use Vision of Madness on Fade. +1 to hit, -1 on saves and skills for 3 rounds. Don't get bit. :-)

Tanjvats felt his eyes drawn up to Faedrin's and he eventually recognized the elf's face and the gratitude he was expressing. With an effort he shrugged a "you're welcome" and followed the others back to the bat cave. He helped search the room, and then led the way back across the lower landing to the west. Search, but don't think this'll help: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 Once he reached the western corridor, he spun around a little, trying to get his bearings. Did the bats go this way? He wasn't sure, so he shook his head to clear it and peered west. stupid will save

Tanjvats looked back from the guano-filled room to check on the others. He noticed Faedrin dressing his wounds and was shocked to see their extent. He rushed over to the elf and helped with the bandages, apologizing profusely for not having reacted earlier. When they were done, he called forth some healing magic, and directed it over the wounded flesh. Drop bless to cast CLW on Fade
Tanjvats blushed as he finished his work in shame. Harsh voices began berating him inside his own head. "Thought you were so smart chasing off those bats, didn't you?"
His breathing became a bit shallow, but he managed to keep his hand from shaking. He realized he was staring, unfocused, at Faedrin's shoulder.

After the silence wore off, Tanjvats suggested, "Let's go explore where the bats came from...while they're away." He reset his crossbow and moved slowly to the east, peeking around the corner with his darkvision.

Will Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 Ugh. But thanks for that call, Aard. Tanjvats opened his mouth in a silent shout of joy as the bats began to disperse. But he turned his attention almost immediately towards Fade and Kascio in the water. He trudged down to help them out of the pool, knowing the silence would only last a few more seconds.

Tanjvats grimaced at the familiar smell of guano and dust, wafted on the thrumming wings of the bats. "Kascio! Faedrin! This way! I'll try to confuse them!" With that command out of the way, he pulled a scroll out of his pouch and read it in quick, measured tones, trying to keep his voice from rushing along with the pace of his heartbeat. When he was done, he touched the tip of the bolt loaded on his crossbow with a slightly glowing finger Move action to pull a scroll of silence, Standard action to use it on my crossbow. Everything in 20-ft is silence. I'll leave it do the DM to decide what that means for bats. I'm hoping it's like darkness for humans...we can use our secondary senses like hearing and smell, but we're pretty hampered. It's all I got. Of course, if any of the bats are spellcasters, they're screwed. :-)

Tanjvats yelled "Run!" to Dareon and Kascio, pointing up the hallway after Esme. He hoped the strange Penance somehow understood. Seeing Fade in the middle of the pool, he called out. "Come to me, I'll try to provide us with cover." Not my action yet, so I'm hoping that I can at least speak as an immediate action. If not, this'll be prologue to my turn...which should be...batty. *snort*.

Tanjvats watched incredulous as Faedrin and Kascio jumped into the water, while fumbling at his own belt for a scroll. Dareon's commands were oddly calming, and he instinctively obeyed, handing his alchemists fire to Dareon. can I see if Faedrin and Kascio sink before I jump in? That is, can I stand in the water if I need to?

Tanjvats tried his best to align his weapon on one of the amoebas as they swam towards his comrades. He fired, and rapidly reloaded. I know they move first, but I don't think I'll be doing anything differently. Lt. Crossbow: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
