Fair enough on the "Unnecessary and bad regulations." but how about "Unnecessary " being what too much regulation means. I acknowledged before that bad regulation can still do some good, but should be fixed. (as I can also point out many can do too much bad, but that is a case by case basis).

Does either of those imply that we have either too much or too little regulation? No. It implies we have some wrong regulation.

Anyone talking about too much regulation in the abstract is likely trying to get some good regulation removed under cover of there being too much. Bad regulations can be pointed out and removed on their own. Good ones have to be snuck out. No one actually argues that we need more regulation in general, though plenty of people argue for specific regulations they think are needed. Again these are often opposed on the grounds of "too much regulation" when they can't be opposed on their own merits.

I would argue that unnecessary and bad regulations would be the definition of too much regulation.

Clean air act, clean water acts, taking lead and sulfer out of gasoline, endangered species protection, national highway system, national education system, fishing regulations have all contributed to a better america and a better world.

A world with reasonable regulations ....

And that is there issue right there. What is reasonable and what has been taken too far and is now punitive for no real gain.

Many of the regulations that started reasonable have grown too much and been used by groups with a cause where there can never be enough regulation to satisfy them. Regulations are now being used to skirt the need for Congress to pass laws or they have been put in place to stifle small businesses that can never afford to stay in compliance.

To say a world without any regulations would be better is silly, but to say our current climate of regulations is ideal would be also. Finding the right balance of enough regulation but not too much is hard, and then even harder when they can be used for political or personal gains.

The problem exists when someone thinks, for example, the Clean Water Act has gone too far in some places, they get portrayed as wanting dirty water and hates the environment. Or when a legitimate water issue arises and regulations are added to combat it, so much unnecessary regulation has already been added it is easy to label them "Eco-Nuts".

Here is a spreadsheet that is a working document on trying to put the events of the book in chronological order. Joffrey's wedding is the start of year 300 AL.

Spoilers abound within obviously....

We've been doing T2 runs with a monk (me) and a Witch Doctor. So far they have run fairly smooth for us.

We dipped our toe into T3 last night and while we progressed, it was slow and painful so went back to T2 runs for now.

The changes with the expansion has made this game fun and glad I decided to take the leap of faith purchasing it after the patch changes before it came out.

I jumped into a couple rift runs with Macharius and two others yesterday afternoon when I had some time with my Barbarian. Good quick rift runs!

In the book Jaime is born in 266AL and Robert's War runs from 281 to 283 so he would have been 17 then. The series starts in 298 and Joffrey's wedding will take place as year 300 starts, so in the book he is around 34.

Maybe classes could have inherent bonuses to key stats and start at a slightly higher number than 10, say 12 or 13.

Rogues with Dex and Con. Wizards could start with a 12 or maybe 13 in only intelligence. A Fighter might allow more flexibility and have a 13 in two of three from Str/Dex/Con or could start with 12 in Str, Con and Dex.

Thea:

My thought was that Slade will use her against Ollie and during a fight where almost everyone is defeated, Merlyn show up to save his daughter and turn the tide. Which is probably where Thea finds out that he is her father

Thanks for the input, I have been thinking of introducing it, either around the time you did, a single level towards the end, or even earlier that. The only thing holding me back is that I haven't used it yet and not sure what the scope of those changes would be. But there is only one way to get familiar with it I suppose....

I think I could guess at what spots they gained mythic levels, but where did you grant them and what, if any, adjustment have you made for them?

Actually I have a feeling it was not a case of The Stupid, but under orders of the clairvoyant. For Skye at least. I think it will awaken some latent ability.

The knife in May was The Stupid.

Finishing up my conversion of "Into the Wormcrawl Fissure" and I was trying to come up with a Pathfinder class that could replace Venk's class in the AP.

Anyone have any thoughts to a good class/archetype feat combo that could replace Venk's original class? [trying to remain vague to not spoil for anyone just in case]

Spoiler:
Initial thought was magus

Mythic in an e8? You can do whatever floats your boat, however I'd only award a mythic tier for something truly spectacular in a game designed for grittiness. End of a long story arc etc.

I've actually been thinking about this for awhile, putting a greek gods sort of spin on a campaign where they have more involvement in the day to day lives of people. We made up our own campaign world using Dawn of Worlds, and I'd like to make the campaign E7 or 8 then towards the end do something with the mythic rules to set them apart in the world.

I find the show entertaining enough to watch, but it is not a "must see" show for me. I love Clark Gregg but it needs something more.

Watching this mid season finale and Arrow's mid season finale last night had polar opposite effects on me. I had to look up when Arrow returns from break and I can't wait to see what happens next. (To be fair though Arrow has one season on AoS already).

My first was Tom Baker in Deadly Assassin on pbs and I was 7ish. My dad and I would watch Doctor Who together after that which is the only sci fi show I think he has ever watched. It may just have been something he was willing to watch because I liked it so much.

I have watched pretty much every episode from the 4th doctor on, and some of the third. This year after watching the BBC America specials I have decided to try and watch as much of the first three doctors as I can and have watched 3 full stories of the first doctor and 2 of the second.

I gave the Zon Kuthon citadel clerics the separatist archetype. This allowed for them to keep the war domain as listed, but lose proficiency in the spiked chain, which is ok because I kept them using flails. But they needed proficiency in flails which was taken care of since I increased their levels by 1 in my conversion from 3.5 to Pathfinder to keep their CR the same. (They each had 1 extra feat over the 3.5 rules) So each of the clerics could take weapon proficiency in flails with their extra feat gained (and the half-orc could gain it with racial trait trade off as well giving him another feat). The Pathfinder War domain didn't grant Weapon Focus for free, but that was off set by the +1 BAB given with the level gain.

I also used Norgorber for the NE cult, but I had them act as Urgathoa cultists. The party officially found that out with the Faceless Man's diary at the end. (It works out good too later on in the AP with the cleric, who I made Norgorber, seeking out the Well of Triptych Knowledge)

I also used morlocks instead of grimlocks in my conversion but used Lamashtu instead of Rovavgug, though I had originally thought about Rovagug and ending the world. But some of the evil cultists had piercings and body modifications and I could still use the pictures and description of the Overgod since her shtick is deformed monstrosities.

Downloaded 4.3 on my phone and dolphin doesn't work either. Just got Dolphin Jetpack and I can see the messageboards again. Thanks Cheapy!

It was a nice touch for him to learn the different types of bending in the same order as the cycle goes.

With a natural attack, such as a bite, you only get one attack no matter your BAB.

Harrenhal:

Episode 1 of Season 3. Tywin took all of his men with him to help King's Landing. Only ones left at Harrenhal were dead Northerner prisoners (and Qyburn was found alive).

Harrenhal:
Harrenhal is where Gregor Clegane (Twyin's Bannerman) and his crew were interrogating people about the Brotherhood Without Banners. Then Tywin came in and took control of the castle using as a forward base in the Riverlands. Tywin and his whole army left when he joined with the Tyrells to help defend King's Landing from Stannis.

Robb's and Bolton's Army attacked Harrenhal right hoping for a decisive victory against the Lannisters, but Twin had already moved his forces and it was undefended. The only thing remaining was all the dead Northerner Prisoners that Tywin left behind.

Robb left Bolton in charge of Harrenhal until Bolton left for the Wedding at the Frey's

I'm sorry that you have to go through all of that. Everyone needs to find their own path in life and sometimes that road is rocky and hard to travel on. Hopefully the things you deal with now makes you stronger, happier, and balanced.

We'll be here when and if you are ready to be back and I, for one, will be looking forward to it!

Lord Snow,

Spoiler:
I agree with you to a point about that, and I think just given the choice it would be out of place. But she was confronted with the facts that she had already made that choice since the doctor had met her in those very timelines where the Great Intelligence went. So for her the choice was already made, a circular time travel thing. That made the difference for me.

One of my problems with the movie was

Spoiler:
How does extremis grow the hair know back at the exact length and style it was before being burned away. Killian and Pepper both had that happen at least once

I think Jenner at the CDC confirmed it was around two months after the outbreak when the show starts.

Season 1 is less than a week of time

Season 2 is a little more than 2 weeks of time.

Then the winter which was 6 or 7 months?

Season 3 has been about 3 weeks long.

I'd say it hasn't even been a year yet or it barely has been.

There is one!

Story about extended versions

Quote:
Warner Bros. has confirmed that the first film in the new trilogy, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, will receive the Extended Edition treatment in a late 2013 home video release – just in time to promote the theatrical release of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

Exactly! He should have been killed with a knife or beaten to death. Shooting him could draw zombies! :)

The rules were compiled from BECMI and re-edited, but I believe there were additions/changes, like the mystic which I think was more flushed out.

What I do it just use the PFSRD or the D20PFSRD site and copy all the monster text into a doc file, once I have all the full stats of all the monsters in a adventure in the doc file. I print it out. I even do this with monsters and NPC's who have stat blocks in the adventure. It can then write on the printed sheets and I find it much easier that way to run battles, to have a single piece of paper I can write on, with all the information on it.

I do this exact thing as well and it also lets me adjust stats for spell buffs, add a line in for power attack damage, etc

Yeah, Gandalf goes off and does stuff and it's probably really cool stuff, but it's not relevant to Bilbo's journey. Aragorn's probably doing something cool around then too.(At least in Jackson's version. In Tolkein's he was ~10.) But it doesn't matter to Bilbo's trip.

In the books Aragorn is not quite 90 years old during Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit takes place about 60 years before. Aragorn becomes friends with Gandalf when he is about 25 after he has already became the chieftan of the rangers.

Matthew, I love the show but it wasn't perfect. No need to keep your head down from me!

Grand Magus brings up another of my favorite shows Seinfeld. I was disappointed by the end show, and it definitely wasn't a typical Seinfeld show. I knew what they were going for, but it missed on a lot of cylinders for me. Now if you include the "reunion" shows from "Curb your enthusiasm" it has a much nicer ending.

To be honest, "Lost" became ridiculous to me right around the fourth season, when all the time travel and alternate reality crap started happening. I personally thought it was a signal that the writers had run out of good ideas and were just reaching for the craziest possible plot threads to try to keep the audience engaged. I quit watching after that point, but of course looked up the eventual ending online just to see how everything wrapped up -- and you're right. What a dumb, unoriginal, unsatisfying ending. Such a cop-out. I'm shocked that something that bad can air on a major network, but that very strong sci-fi shows with good writing can be canceled even when they're on smaller networks (my poor "Firefly" ...). /rant :)

At the end of the third season they were granted seasons 4-6 to plan the shows ending (whether they actually did that or not). The show definitely had a different feel from that point on.

I liked Lost and thought the ending wasn't all that I wanted it to be, but it wasn't a bad ending. I have a feeling you don't know how the show really ended

Instead "Oh, tech is evil, we should all live in huts and die young.</rant>

And to go with that, how is it for 4 seasons of the show no one could agree to anything at all on the show, but all of a sudden 100% agree to live on a planet with nothing and go native? I would have liked to seen some disagreement and have that one ship fly off with people that wanted to keep going.

Only usable once per round

Immediate Actions

Much like a swift action, an immediate action consumes a very small amount of time but represents a larger expenditure of effort and energy than a free action. However, unlike a swift action, an immediate action can be performed at any time—even if it's not your turn. Casting feather fall is an immediate action, since the spell can be cast at any time.

Using an immediate action on your turn is the same as using a swift action and counts as your swift action for that turn. You cannot use another immediate action or a swift action until after your next turn if you have used an immediate action when it is not currently your turn (effectively, using an immediate action before your turn is equivalent to using your swift action for the coming turn). You also cannot use an immediate action if you are flat-footed.

So far I have finished Runelords, Crimson Throne, and about halfway through part 5 in Carrion Crown on my Monday night 4 hour weekly game I run. I tend to add extras in to prolong the campaign.

I also run an Age of Worms game for friends from high school that we do once every couple months for a 10 hour game when we can align our schedules and we are about halfway through #7 of that.

I also play in one AP that is monthly and we are part of the way through book 4 of Kingmaker.

1. I like it, but instead of round to minutes or minutes to hours, I would probably just say that the spell has the extend feat on it for free.

2. I don't mind this. Makes it powerful at low levels, but goes for the enemy too.

3. I like this too and agree with Orthos, make it disappear like a scroll. Found spellbooks become useful beyond a little gold, and a second spellbook would be a great place to put all your scrolls.

I have the original AoW magazines, but I still bought the AoW Dungeon issues in PDF form all over again when I decided to convert it to PFRPG earlier this year. It took me about ... 4 to 6 hours or so to go through all of the PDFs and copy paste the text into MS Word and half an hour or so per module to strip out most of the hard carriage returns left over from columnar formatting that I did not want in my text. It's a little tedious to do this, but after the first issue or two, you learn the process and it mechanically goes VERY fast and you zoom through it. As you do it, it also provides you a nice once over read through of the entire AP. You aren't reading for detail at this point, but it does get your creative juices flowing, as it were.

I am actually done with my conversion through Issue 131 (8 out of 12 completed). Never thought to get the .pdf's as that would have saved me some time and I already do the same thing with the current APs (paste into a doc and making some changes helps when I run at home). I agree it helps a ton with getting acquainted with the AP as a whole.

The changes you made were great and I would love to see your stat block and creature changes if and when you get to that part.

In my conversions I did Zon-Kuthon, Urgathoa, and Lamashtu. Any clerics I did were given the Separatist Archetype so they could choose destruction or another domain as needed.

I've ran this twice after converting to Pathfinder, here's what I did

Spoiler:

I kept the +6 BAB. I changed their Superior Two-Weapon Fighting special ability to giving them two racial feats instead.(Two Weapon Fighting and Double Slice). I also noted their "wind" longswords were considered light weapons.

This balanced out the +2 BAB gained going to pathfinder as they got a -2 due to two-weapon fighting and it kept the full damage in the offhand. True they had a third attack at a -5, but both groups made it through. It helps that they both were at full strength heading into the fight. (Both groups were level 2 as well leveling after this fight.) Both groups had a tougher time with the Sonic Blast then the sword attacks.

I can see adjusting the BAB down to 5 and then making their weapons count as masterwork if that extra attack is bothersome. To balance their hp back give them a bonus racial feat of toughness or add 2 to their con

Undead scourge is +2/ level on every hit vs undead when smiting

When smiting anything other than undead, the undead scourge gets 1 point/Level extra on a smite, 2 per level on undead. Normally a regular paladin gets 2/level on their first hit vs evil dragons and evil outsiders.

So 2/level for undead, 1/level for everything else.

We played on Wednesday and our GM (and group I suppose) was very boisterous and loud
