![]() Alright, with my schedule beginning to free up from some stuff, I'm wanting to pick up running another AP. And what AP is that? JADE REGENT! Alright, so, I'm currently running a Kingmaker game (and loving it), but want to laden my GMing plate with even more adventure, so I'm going with an AP I've been dying to try. Character generation guidelines: ~Recruitment ends Saturday, February 22, and will start Sunday the 23.
I will pick 5 characters, no more (may even only be 4 characters). I will also only assign levels. Far easier than XP track. And... GO! ![]()
![]() The ground is hard and cold, sweeps of snow still clinging on in the more shadowy parts of Restov. The city of the first and greatest Swordlord Sirian Aldori, free from much of the politics of it's fellows in the greater Brevoy, teems with life even during these harsher months. Even at this early time of day, warriors begin their instructions, and those sorry few who fail to make it into any of the schools in the city vent their anger through duels. Lord Mayor Sellemius looks out his window at the Free City, proud of it, but even those who know little of the man can tell his mind wanders. He turns and looks at his desk. Four small scrolls are in their simple leather cases, each sealed with wax and a stamp of his authority. He raises one off his desk and inspects it again. He was a generally simple man, and kept his office fairly devoid of anything that wasn't on the agenda, but when official business does cross his desk, he takes it as seriously as any noble lord. Content that his inspection once again proves that it remains sealed, he lowers it back to the desk. This has to work. The sooner these folks get to securing the border, the sooner I can sleep a full night again. The thought no sooner crosses his mind and his thoughts turn to the four groups he had chosen. Each had their purpose: go into the Stolen Lands, map it, and kill as many bandits and foul creatures as possible. Each team had been given effectively the same order, though slightly different in additional duties. A shout catches his attention, and he once more looks out the window. Some damn fool just lost a duel right outside the building. Sellemius squints trying to see if he could recognize the man, but something else draws his gaze. Going into the Seven Keg tavern was one of the adventurers he'd just hired. A small smile crossed his face. A tavern, huh? Seems downright iconic... ~~~ The Seven Keg tavern was fairly quiet at this time of day. Ol' Markin the barkeep is reviewing earnings from the previous night, and his son Harl puts the finishing touches on one of the recently broken tables. Harl leans on it to make sure it won't break from too much stress, and contented that it will hold, looks up in time to see some people step in, a cold blast of air accompanying them. "Welcome to the Seven Keg tavern, finest drink house this side of Lake Reykal! It's a little early for ale and mead, but if you give me a bit, I can whip up some eggs and cheese for ya!" And the scene opens with the all-too stereotypical tavern scene! This will be just a "get to know one another" scene for now, the game and your characters future truly begin this coming Wednesday. And due to a strong headache (I really shouldn't drink as much as I did), I'm gonna go crash! Have fun chit-chatting and dreaming of future glories! ![]()
![]() While reading Kingmaker, I noticed that it (like pretty much all AP's), uses the medium advancement. Now I'm getting ready to run the AP, but I'm contemplating have 5, possibly 6, players. Now, having crunched the numbers, I've determined that a party of 6 on the fast track, with no adjustment to the actual amount of experience they get straight from the AP, they should level at about the same speed as a party of four, which the AP states it is built around. Thoughts and comments? ![]()
![]() Be it so known that the bearer of this charter has been charged by the Swordlords of Restov, acting upon the greater good and authority vested within them by the office of the Regent of the Dragonscale Throne, has granted the right of exploration and travel within the wilderness region known as the Greenbelt. Exploration should be limited to an area no further than thirty-six miles east and west and sixty miles south of Oleg’s Trading Post. The carrier of this charter should also strive against banditry and other unlawful behavior to be encountered. The punishment for unrepentant banditry remains, as always, execution by sword or rope. So witnessed on this 24th day of Calistril, under watchful eye of the Lordship of Restov and authority granted by Lord Noleski Surtova, current Regent of the Dragonscale Throne. This is the Kingmaker AP, as done by me, Lugos! In this Path, a select number of adventurers from Brevoy head into that storied area known as the Stolen Lands. Will they found a kingdom that stands through the ages, or will they be crushed by enemies from within and without? |
