OK, I'm back and don't expect any more interruptions to my posting until mid-October. Taerine begins gathering power, flame roaring into her outstretched arms, ready to destroy the witch if she emerges again. Full round of gathering power, given lack of enemies to blast.

Whenever an infused blast hits a foe and penetrates its spell resistance, that foe catches on fire, regardless of whether it takes damage. A foe that catches fire takes 1d6 points of fire damage each round until the fire is extinguished. Against a creature on fire from this infusion, any fire kinetic blasts gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls, to DCs, and on caster level checks to overcome spell resistance.

Taerine shakes her head at the dwarf's question and proceeds carefully forward, making her way toward the floor of the necropolis. Looks like we automatically pass B and D to get down. With no clear path ahead of her, she concentrates a moment -- the burning glow around her fading away -- and then pads quietly toward the fountain, looking around carefully. Taking a right when I exit and heading toward Area 17. Full-round action to suppress her elemental overflow.

Taerine notes the voice from the ceiling. "Being turned into a cartoon should be the least worst of the fates that await us here," she notes absentmindedly as she looks around. She'll try tugging on one of the chains, to see if it comes off easily. "Perhaps something preceded us here?" she notes. "One statues smashed, one chain missing..." "Talon, would you care to examine those doors, see if it's safe to discover what's on the other side?"

"I also wish to purge these halls of something," Taerine notes, eying the woman up and down. A formidable looking woman. I'll have to keep my eye on her. Perhaps she could be made interested in serving father, in time. She looks around at Percy's words. "Very well. Let's see whether we can continue to survive. We've also lost two of our original accompaniment, but hopefully we can avoid any more losses at this point." Taerine begins peering around the room, to see if there are any differences between this one and the one she seemed to be in a few moments earlier. "More witchery!" Taerine snaps. "Identify yourselves if you don't wish to be obliterated from this plane!" She raises a hand, blue flames seeming to swirl around it and the rest of her body, and you realize the woman -- a stark figure, wearing the black mantle of Asmodeus' church, with red stitching to accent it -- is in fact human despite her silver diadem -- a ruby in the centerpiece -- looking almost like devil's horns. Though attractive, she shows little sign of warmth, detracting from the overall presence. She holds herself confidently, seemingly unconcerned by the complete lack of obvious weaponry on her person.

You create a wall of churning elements, flensing debris, or roiling energy. The wall appears within 30 feet and can be either up to 10 feet high and up to 120 feet long or up to 20 feet high and up to 60 feet long. All creatures and objects in one of the wall’s squares when you create it take 1/4 the normal damage from your blast with no saving throw (or half the normal damage for an energy blast). Anytime a creature crosses the wall, it takes half the normal damage from your blast (or full damage for an energy blast). The wall is not completely solid, but it does provide cover against attacks from the other side of the wall. The wall lasts for 9 rounds or until I use a wall infusion again. This is my last post until next Friday, most likely. Back to using blue blame blasts (see previous post for rolls) after this round.

"Wait, we can't --" Taerine calls as Talon ghosts away. She turns to the silent dwarf with a glance. "Unless you have some means to protect me, I'll not be going that way," she says. "There are less dangerous means to advance." I likely won't survive going through that room. If there's no way to shut it down, I'm turning around and finding some other way to advance. I don't want to split the party, but there's simply no way Taerine's entering that room unless Tor can give her some protection from negative energy.

"I don't think speed is the problem. It's passing the statues," Taerine said. I'm not that worried about time it takes to get across. We shouldn't be in there more than one round. Having to pass 7 rows of statues, that could be 70d6 negative energy, plus whatever the cold is. I just don't see how we can soak that up without protection if we can't suppress it.

"I think getting through here could be more trouble than it's worth," Taerine says, shaking her head. "You're armor may give you some protection, but not enough. We know there's another way in, and I suggest we take that." There's an entryway toward the top of the complex where it opens to the sky. I suspect we can get up there easily enough... Alternatively, Tor could try to use his channels to harm the things and we can force our way through...

Just FYI, the ball and chain is home from medical school through May 1, so my posting may be a bit spotty for a bit (though I usually still have time to do quick updates). Feel free to DMPC me as needed. That said, I think we're down to three players. Do we want to try to recruit a couple more? No strong feelings on the topic, but I thought I'd raise the idea.
