I appreciate the feedback. I figure that when the limitations are lifted at 15th level and 19th no line of effect would be needed. I agree that no line of effect is needed in general. As one is not stated as being needed.

As for the second part, if the Vitalist did have damage they can shunt healing to others as they can mix and match (resting hp gained) with other members of the collective when they are wounded. My question, really is "how much do you heal when resting?'.

Specifically you are down 2hp and can heal 5(5thlevel). You heal 1 and it goes to someone else, you heal a second and it goes to someone else. Since you can heal up to five do you keep healing since you are still down 2 or was your max heal for the night preset at only 2 as you were only down 2 at the start of your rest.

I have searched the forums but did not see this addressed. I have two questions about the mechanics of vitalist healing and power use through the collective. I know you need line of effect and to be in and stay in range to stay in/create the collective, but once it is established do you need line of effect to heal through the collective. If a party member is in another room and you have no line of effect to them, can you still use your powers on them with no line of effect?

Second question is more mechanical. How much healing does a character do as it relates to moving points around. Example: I think under normal circumstances a 4th level character heals 4 hp after a night of rest. They can't heal over their current damage so if they are only down 2 pts. they heal 2 to max. But what if they agree to have some of this healing moved to other characters. Can that character heal 4pts (their max) if the first 2 healing points are moved to another character?

Similar example: if a 5th level vitalist pricks their hand for 1 pt of damage can they give 4 (healing themselves for 1 with the last point) or 5 points to others (leaving themselves still with 1 pt. of damage) in the morning if they keep giving away their natural healing. I know they cannot do this if they are fully healed. Any help or opinion would be great.

Hey folks, an interesting question came up in a play session last night. Can a spell caster who knows the memorize page spell buy a scroll of an unknown spell and after making their spell craft check to learn it, but before copying the spell into their spell book memorize the scroll and not use it up in the copying process? The spell as written seems to all this.

Normally the scroll is consumed during the copying process. To take this a bit further, what if the caster borrowed the scroll last week from another mage and is now copying it into their spell book after memorizing it a week ago?
