The Exchange

I'm unclear on if these two can be used together. I'm trying a multiclass with fighter and so I have AoO. Can I have both my shield up and be wielding my elemental weapon to make AoO? The wording seems a bit unclear.

Elemental Weapon says: "The weapon is still the gathered element and can be used for impulses, is expended for overflow impulses, and so on."

Stone Shield says: "You raise a floating shield of stone, orbiting around you, protecting you from harm and imbuing you with great resiliency. You Raise a Shield, turning your gathered element into the shield and gaining a +2 circumstance bonus to AC until the start of your next turn. (You can still use this shield for anything requiring a gathered element."

I think what is unclear is what it means by "turning your gathered element into the shield." How limited is your gathered element? Can it only be in one form at a time, or can I wield the weapon in one hand as my gathered element and have a piece of it break off and circle me as a stone shield.

My thoughts as a GM is I'm inclined to allow this. As I feel like the intent is to let the weapon be your gathered element and still let you make impulses as normal unimpeded with the limitation of only the matching ranged or melee blasts. Also aside from AoO I don't see much use for the Elemental weapon as it is so restricted and this seems like a match made in heaven for the tank build. I'd like to hear other thought

To date, four crusades have been launched against the demons of the Worldwound, and while all four have had varying degrees of success and failure, none have yet driven the armies of Deskari, Lord of the Locust Host, from Golarion.

The beginning of the fourth crusade was marked by a dangerous new addition to the demon armies- Khorramzadeh the Storm King. Scholars of the war are divided as to whether or not the Storm King had been ruling from Iz all along, or if he was but the latest arrival in the region. Regardless, the Storm King’s first assault on the border resulted in no less catastrophic an event than the cracking of the Kenabres wardstone.

The ferocity of this attack caught the crusaders off guard, but in the end the wardstone held. In response, the church of Iomedae called for the Fourth Crusade. This crusade proved to be the longest and most grueling of the crusades yet, lasting 15 years and ending more as a result of wartime exhaustion than anything else. The demons lost very little, and in the years since this crusade’s whimpering conclusion, morale along the Worldwound’s borders has reached an all-time low.

For several weeks, excitement has been building in Kenabres—Armasse is coming! Traditionally an opportunity for scholars and priests to come together to study the lessons of history from wars past, since Aroden’s death, this holy day has become more about training commoners in weaponry, choosing squires, and ordaining new priests. Over time, Armasse has grown to encompass jousting competitions, mock duels, battle reenactments, and other festival events. In Kenabres, the festival (which takes place on 16 Arodus) is eagerly anticipated, for it provides distractions from the horrors of being on the front line of the war.

The PC's have arrived in Kenabres just a day before the opening ceremony of the Armasse festival, there to participate in some of the competitions and perhaps even join the crusade (for coin or for glory).

This is where our story begins. Let's have each of the PC's put in a post about why their characters are in Kenabres and what they would be doing at the opening of this campaign.

Hey everyone! Had one of my new players drop out from this game before we got started. I decided I'm going to run a group of six, so I have 3 more slots open.

Character Guidelines:
-20 point build
-All Core and Base Classes allowed (Excluding Gunslinger)
-Core Races, Tiefling, and Aasimar are allowed.
-Pick 1 Campaign Trait (Located in Players Guide) and 1 other Trait. I'll also allow 1 extra Trait if you take a Drawback.
-Average starting Gold
-Max HP
-1st Level (Mythic Tiers come later)

If you drop an Ability Score to 7 or lower, I would like you to have an explanation of how it fits your character to be that low. I will be posting quite frequently, I would like players who can post at least a little bit every day. Let the applications begin!
