Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Sizara listened to the sailors talk about how the captain might be sleeping with one of the passengers. It did bring back memories of her half-green dragon lover, but while she did hold a torch for him, she figured their paths might one day cross.

She started to pay attention to the crew than she did her food.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Sizara was starving both for food and company. She greeted everyone, hoping to strike up a conversation with anyone who wanted to as she gathered her food. It wasn't the best food in the world (her elven rations tasted a whole lot better), but still learning more about others, including what they ate, was part of the thrill of adventure and seeing the world, but she also was on guard too. She found it strange that the captain had constantly been absent, leaving much of the ship's duties to the first mate.

"Something is off about this. My gut says that danger is near," she thought to herself. She said a silent prayer to Shimye-Magalla, Shelyn, Ketephys, and the spirit of the cheetah to watch over as she looked around to find someone to talk to, while also picking up anything the crew and other passengers were saying.

Dotting.

Sorry about the double post here, but the Envoy racial feature also allows me to use besides comprehend languages, the detect poison spell in addition to read magic and detect magic, but I can only any of those spell-like abilities once per day. So, I'll defer to y'all to when you think I need to use it.

Again, I'm using the Pathfinder Strategy Guide to help build my character as she levels up. I'll probably boost my Constitution score up until it reaches 14 and then switch to strength. :D

@Sizara: Kenderella has diplomacy well in hand; and others like Nalesa can assist her. With your great strength score, perhaps Swim would be the better option to give your skill point to at start of game? :)

Cool. I can also help (in a limited capacity) with the Envoy racial ability that I have. Comprehend languages will certainly prove useful. :)

I'll change that right away!

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Hmm....I might need to drop Diplomacy then and take Swim. Would it be alright to do that? Or do y'all think I should keep the rank in Diplomacy?

Also welcome St.John to the group!

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Hmm....not sure. I'm good with either one actually but they both have unique advantages and both are extremely useful in and out of combat.

I'm also don't have any games going on either and I was on a long hiatus myself too. So I'm glad to get back into the swing of things so I don't foresee any trouble posting at least once or twice a day.

My character might also help too with social situations thanks to her Envoy racial trait but her Diplomacy isn't that high. She's mainly a mix of tank and damage dealer. I'm using the Pathfinder Strategy Guide to help figuring out what feats and rage powers to take although most rage powers will focus on animal and combat range powers. Most people shy away from playing elves as barbarians but I see my character as an interesting challenge.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

I'm at work right now but whenever you and the others decide to start is good with me!

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Been busy with work and gardening, but I should have a post up sometime tomorrow. Been a busy today and my brain is fried.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

"I don't know about the rest of you, but I think we have more enemies to deal with!"

Sizara growls like a cornered wild cat as she readies her blade.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

So are breaths a sigh of relief as the tentacled monster retreats after the adventurers gave it a serious beating.

"Well that was something. A good thing we were able to drive it before things got out of hand," she says looking at the spot where the giant octopus had once been.

"Should we check this wreck for supplies or leave at once before that monster returns?"

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Yes let us continue!

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Same here!

Good to hear that you're okay GM!

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

I'm hoping the same thing as well!

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Sizara charges forward and swings her sword at one of the tentacles!

Longsword (using both hands while raging) charge!: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 9 + 2 = 17 I apologize if my math is wrong here. It's been a long day.

Longsword charge damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

"Yes, you are indeed a good crew member, Pezok. And we appreciate it very much."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

The scantily clad amazonian elven barbarian flirts with the tengu some more, hoping the strange birdman gets the message, while also smiling.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Sizara is a bit startled by the strange birdlike man. She has never seen anyone like him before. In fact, she finds the strange being before her to be...quite interesting. Very quite interesting indeed.

Assist Diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Hopefully that helps out...even if it isn't much. :(

Also, seems that Sizara is curious about the tengu.

"I'm never seen your kind before, Pezok. I'm guessing that the cannibals attacked your friends and..."

She doesn't finish her sentence, knowing that it probably pains the bird man knowing that he outlived his friends.

"If you like, you could come with us and help us in removing the cannibals from these islands. It will also give you a chance in avenging your friends. Plus...I would like to get to know you more."

She smiles at the tengu, flirting with him a bit.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Apologies for being absent.

Been busy lately.

If it isn't too much trouble can someone please bring me up to speed on what has happened?

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

"Strange that someone took the time to construct something like this. Maybe it's meant to be disguise or to keep the cannibals away. So there must be someone here who has survived their time here. What do the rest of you think," the scantily clad elven barbarian said to the others.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

My posting rate has actually slowed down a great deal because of work and the holidays. So, if I don't post, then please bot me. I'm posting this to all of my games I'm in, just to let people know. Sorry about this.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Sizara nods and replies, "Very well. And that plan sounds feasible. We should be extra careful though. I fear that there are probably worse things on this island than cannibals, like that ghost pirate for example."

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Yeah I'm still here. Just been busy what with the holidays and work.

I'll try and have a post up hopefully by this afternoon

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

I'm hoping the gm is okay.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

"That's a good idea Hamual. We at least now know why that ghost thought I was his lost love. A strange thing," Sizara said.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Sizara seeing that Karia had grabbed the journal, goes for the small portrait, saying, "A shame we can't get the pouch too, but I don't think there's time to get it."

While she is talking she's making a mad dash out of the room and off the ship as fast as her bare feet can run.

I think you can Hamual, if I remember how mage hand works, but it might be best for the GM to answer that question.

Reflex save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Yes that is correct. :( Although I must admit that scene you just did was funny. :)

Sizara said, "Ouch."

She looked around the place.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

"Well, I found the body of our mystery lovesick spirit. Karia you might want to come check the chest he was trying to get to," the female elf said.

She groans as she gets up.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

It's okay. I know what you're going through. I had kidney stones as well. A lot of people in the South get them, mostly because of all the sweet tea we drink. But take your time. No need to rush.

Break the Door down! Also known as a Strength Check ;): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Break the Door down! Also known as a Strength Check ;): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

Sizara cracks her knuckles as she gives a fierce smile and begins to break the door. It takes a couple of tries, but she is eventually able to knock the door down to the ground!

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Sizara notices the mage staying close to her.

She says with a smirk to Hamual, "I take it you're not used to being outdoors?"

Later once the others were up onto the shipwreck...

Sizara looked at the door in puzzlement.

"I wonder what happened to cause people to attack this door. Was there something important in that room?"

Sizara moved aside to let Karia investigate the door to make sure there were no traps.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

"Corliss...there's a rope for you to use," the jungle elf said with a sigh.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

"You seemed to be doing just fine in my opinion," Sizara says laughing as she helped both Hamual and Karia up onto the ship. She then tossed a rope over the side of the shipwreck for the others to use to help them get onboard.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Climb: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

Sizara easily scaled the side of the ship, almost like a cat climbing a tree.

She yells at Hamual after she is onboard, "Thank you for the offer Hamual, but I'm good. Of course I can catch anyone who jumps up here so they don't overshoot their landing."

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

"That seems reasonable," the elven barbarian said as she drew her longsword.

Crosses fingers and hopes we find a greatsword!

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Don't worry Corliss. Been in the same boat myself as well. So it's cool.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

"Ugh...I'll never understand why some non-Ekujae continue to put such things on their boats. Don't they know that demonic or evil looking images attract bad spirits!?"

The wild elven amazon signs as she face palms herself.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Sizara thought for a moment.

"You make a good point Hamual. It does seem odd that ghost just showed up here all of a sudden. I think it would be best to scout around and see if there is a shipwreck nearby. Maybe that is where his body lies," the barbaric wild elf said.

Corliss Blackboots wrote:

Grumble, grumble, grumble....

I posted here this morning seconding Corin's idea. Apparently my post got eaten.

Yeah Paizo was acting up this morning for some reason.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

I actually like this plan.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Smiling a bit at the bounty of coconuts and fruit that fell during the storm, Sizara says, "Ah! It would seem that the storm spirits decided to aid us. Even though they are neither good nor evil, they are still spirits of nature and most likely wish us to cleanse this island of whatever taints it. That green lightning was probably some sort of evil magics. The spirits probably see us as allies and will surely bless us as the gods smile upon us."

She also adds that she has grown tired of eating hard tack and salt pork. The elven barbarian adds that it would be best to build a strong defense in case the cannibals decide to come by for a visit, and the elf tells the others that she wants them to know how much they don't appreciate the cannibals dropping by to visit.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

"Indeed. I like that plan. Very well then, let's get started," Sizara said.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

"No that's not normal weather," Sizara replied affirming Corliss's observation.

"There's something strange going on this island."

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news everyone, but my iPhone is acting up, so I'm trying to get it fixed (could be a software issue, or worse the battery is messed up). This will impact my posting rate some, but I'll still try and post as often as I can from my laptop before work.

So, keep y'all's fingers crossed. And I apologize about this. I'm concerned that my phone got messed up during the hurricane when I had numerous power surges prior to losing power when Matthews came through.

Okay....

Crisis averted! After looking online, I found that sometimes if you let your iPhone's battery drain to 0% (which you're supposed to do occasionally), the battery may not have enough juice to charge back up. According to what I found online, simply using a blow dryer to warm the phone up enough for say 5-10 minutes and then immediately plug your iphone into a charger, the iPhone starts right back up. Phew! Glad that's over.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Sizara explains to Hamual about the animal spirits.

"The animal spirits usually bond with someone at birth watching over them. Usually a person doesn't know what their spirit animal is until they go on a vision or dream quest. Sometimes one can go their entire lives without ever knowing their spirit animal. However a few lucky ones discover their animal spirits before their dream quest. Like me for example. On the day I was born a group of the charau-ka attacked my village. My mother and I would have been killed had the spirit of the cheetah not come. It slaughtered the charau-ka as a storm raged overhead. My tribe's shaman believed that the cheetah spirit had blessed me by saving me. The spirits are able to see the future must better than even the gods can so sometimes a spirit will intervene in order save one marked by destiny. Maybe that is why we were able to survive the shipwreck: our spirit animals intervened and were able to give the first mate the strength to rescue us. Why they did not save him I don't know. Only the spirits know that answer. Anyhow among my people the highest honor is to be tattooed with the markings of one's spirit animal. When we die, if a person was bad, then their animal spirit takes them to a place where there is well nothing but hunger and hopelessness. If a person was good before they died then their spirit animal takes them to a place where nourishment is plentiful and one is free from struggles and happiness abounds to no end."

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

"Spirits have a way of coming back and he did say that he would be back didn't he?"

She shrugs her shoulders.

"To each his own. I don't much about these empyreal lords of yours, but I do worship others besides the animal spirits: Shimye-Magalla, Shelyn, and Ketephys."

She turns to Hamual and asks if he believes in animal spirits.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Laying down on her back on the ground, the elven barbarian sighed, "I don't know about the rest of you but after I've rested, I think we need to find a way to put that spirit to rest. That's the first time in my life a spirit mistook me for someone else. I didn't even think that spirits could make mistakes like that! But still, the only spirits I've ever encountered really were the animal spirits, usually in my dreams. Sometimes our animal spirits try to communicate with us through our dreams to warn us of danger or to give us advice. What about the rest of you: do you believe in the animal spirits?"

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Sword Attack: 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 6 - 4 = 19

Sword damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Sizara swung her sword again, hoping to hit the undead specter.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Sword attack: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 5 - 4 = 8

Sword damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Sizara swings her sword trying to hit the ghost.

"Maybe praying to the gods will send the ghost away," she suggests.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Hold up. I thought the ghost was closer to us. I'm not sure Sizara can charge while exhausted.

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Sizara was a bit shocked by the fact that a pirate, much less an undead one, would mistake her for someone else.

"No he isn't Hamual. I'm not sure who he is."

She sighed a bit when Corin yelled at the spirit.

"I'm not your beloved but I'll pray to the gods and animal spirits in the hopes that you two are reunited!"

Female Elf Female Elf Barbarian 1

Sizara nods in agreement and begins to help look for traps and other not so nice surprises.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

"What's more is that when we found the dead body of the ship's cook, it looked like he had been bitten by a snake...a very large snake. The only thing is there were no snakes onboard the ship. I believe that Ilena may be a juju shaman."

The elven barbarian shudders at the word juju.

"Masters of dark magics...they can corrupt the spirits with a thought. They are feared and despised by all spirits for their evil ways."

Sizara is going off what she knows about juju magic from what she was taught by her tribe's shamans. She could be completely wrong!
