Egon moves through the stable doors. He will attempt to attack an entangled enemy. If one can not be reached (without provoking AoO's). If nonot possible, he will attempt to attack an unentangled enemy.
Hiding in the stables. I assume that the stable door is ajar enough so that I don't have to squeeze as I come through the door. I will stay fully hidden until I hear Aldarion's spell going off, which means I cannot see what is going on until that point.
If someone escapes on horseback the snipers could consider firing a ballista at their horse.
"Galu-aur, Aldarion." Then, switching to Common: "I hope that they are smart bandits. More of a challenge, and better to reason with. And yes, we should ask that. I'd also like to see if we could interrogate the bandits before going to their camp, to get information about their numbers and defenses. We'd also need to ask Oleg about the maximum amount of prisoners he can keep in the outpost.
Ah, sometimes I get too obsessed about tactical possibilities."
We can timeskip the gathering of the thorny bushes if nothing interesting happens.
In battle I'll just be on foot, our "snipers" can put holes in anyone who tries to escape. Between the entanglement and our ranged attackers, I don't htink we should waste time closing the gate.
After Egon has slept, he'll hide in the stable, assuming the ambush area is A1 and not the area directly behind the gate.
Egon grins. "How shall we deal with them ? Take them prisoner, or enact capital punishment ? I prefer the first. Some of them may still be redeemable."
A tall amn with regal features turns at the mention of the charter.
" I am Sir Egon, vassal of House Orlovsky. My Order is in service to the Lady of Graves.
He shakes the dwarf's hand. Your sharp eyes will come in handy at night, Dolgan. I wish we had more like you. .
Shall we pick our Kingdom's starting alignement while we wait for Dredd?
Seems like we are leaning towards LG. Which is fine by me. (We have a lot of Lawful and Good alignments in this group).
Healing wont be an issue once we can grab a wand of CLW and I think Aldarion is a druid, so that will also help in a pinch.
Besides, with a gunslinger, zen archer monk and divine hunter paladin most enemies wont even have the chance to get into melee range.
I intend to get into theirs, and with a +4 int mod I might well do it before the barrage begins. I'll delay if needed, to prevent penalties from shooting into melee.
You can never have enough animal companions ;). If the banner and rallying cry abilities would also work for the peasants, Battle Herald would be the logical choice, but I fear it doesn't work that way.
We'll have to see if we can get a cohort capable of arcane magic if we need it. As for the typically arcane skills, I think we can come to an agreement who will invest in what.
Keeping five people healthy is a lot of work for one paladin, so my next level will be cleric. Might be an Evangelist, as I'm not that impressed by Channel Energy.
Please leave this thread for these people. I'll be posting OoC comments and information here, and also this is the place for you to ask questions or make comments on the game.
"This chaos in my homeland cannot go unchecked any longer. Order must be restored, And am I, as a noble, not among the most fit to rule ?".
Introducing Sir Egon d'Clausanne, a scythe-wielding Cavalier. He intends to rise to power and extend his family's influence- and that of the Orlovskys over the land. (The d'Clausannes are vassals of the Orlovskys.)
background:
Egon's birth was a difficult one. Without the help of a unsusually skilled midwife, both he and his mother would have died that night. But the mysterious woman, staying by the bedside of Lady 'd Clausanne for several days, ensured that both mother and child would survive the birth.
As the son of Rivernobles, the boy had a luxurious childhood, but at the same time, was put through a demanding regimen of training and study. The Duke wants his son to become a great knight, the envy of the other noble houses.
During his time as a squire, Egon served a Cavalier of the Order of the Sword. This knight fought with a zeal and determination that put even some paladins to shame, and Egon decided that he would follow in the footsteps of his master.
Unlike the other Cavaliers of his order, he is not sworn to a mortal liege, but to a distant and immortal lady: Pharasma, the Mother of Souls
party role:
Sir Egon is a tank and damage dealer. Later on, he can become one of the diplomats of the party, negotiating with either humans or fey.
I'd upgrade the damage for all crossbows one step.
As for myself, my melee character has an crossbow for underwater combat. Caster characters usually have one too for backup and creatures with SR.
