A ranged touch attack isn't a weapon. Hence, can't take it for weapon focus or improved crit. I've always allowed players to take weapon focus and improved crit 'Ray' however.

I'd just like to add that I have never seen illithids work as a PC race. They just get too many abilities that should simply not be in the hands of the players. Astral Projection (a 9th level spell!) at will, levitate at will, the instant-kill provided by brain extraction, mind blast at will all, and a plethora of other spell-like abilities make for an enormous headache. This is exactly the sort of thing that led to the exclusion of playability of monster races with an "ECL" greater than +2.

They can work, it just requires a bit of imagination. I'm running a psionic 3.5 campaign, with a ulitharid (Large, 12HD, more tentacles, etc.)from Lords of Madness as a PC. It works because he's got a +9 LA, making it a character level 21 to start with, and everyone in it is around 24 or 25 now. It's D8, but it's effectively a caster-based, so with 3.5, it's much better than having D4 as Hit Die size, and with a decent con mod, it's about the same as having 24 X D4 with only 3/4 as caster levels, rather than 12D8. Kinda works. Mostly. With the level my guys are at, the fact it takes 2 round to grapple and suck a brain out, or 1 to mind blast then 1 to eat, compared to the mage who hurls quickened disintegrate around, he's not the fastest killer in the group.

Don't know how well this'll help, but if you look at the natural armor a creature has, and look at the armour value from actual armor, then convert it over?
Ie. +9 natural AC is like full plate, so it's AT20-ish?
+4 natural is like studded leathe or something, so AT12?

Might kinda-work. Still not too familiar with rolemaster, only played it for a short time.

Chaositech is kind of a long way to do it, but do-able. Heap of chaos-powered cybernetics and weapons, etc. But one of the templates basically gets 2 monsters, a staplegun, some duct-tape...

I'm running a 3.5 campaign, players're about level 6 or 7, and since it's psionic I've been waiting for the pathfinder psionics to come out before converting over. Finally got it (YAY!) and now I need to convert my players over. Mostly pretty easy, since races and classes are now all covered, bar one. My draegoloth. He's running with the draegoloth from the savage species books, so he can play it from a lover level (I think total ECL is around 10) and increase in draegoloth-iness as he goes up levels.
As a general rule from what I've played of pathfinder the LA drops by one, and maybe gets a +2 to a stat. that sound about right? Anyone got a better idea?

Also, if a player character wants to take the advanced template from the back of the bestiary, what's the level adjustment for that? It says it's a +1CR, which kinda means a +1 level adjustment, or am I just misreading that?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
