Hi Folks,
we are playing Rolemaster in Golarion at the moment.
I would suggest switching to the PF-system too, but the group just recently bought the new german rolemaster books, so that wouldn't be appropriate.
What i would like to do, is converting some of the monsters from the PF bestiary (D&D would be fine too) to Rolemaster.
Is there any conversion guide you know of, that i can use?
The Rolemaster Arms Law has some conversion tipps, but they are hardly sufficient. Vital parts are missing. For example: How do i convert natural armor into AT etc.?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Rolemaster was my favourite game back in the old days... Is it very popular in Germany... Is Shadowrun still popular as well?

I like to think so. The 4th Edition of Shadowrun happens to be very good. A lot of problems have been solved, so its smoother to play, but still the old Shadowrun game.

Rolemaster is of little importance. Shadowrun is much more widespread but I'm not sure if it's as popular as it was 10 years ago.
The most popular RPGs in Germany right now are probably Das Schwarze Auge, Pathfinder and Vampire the Masquerade. Call of Cthulhu and Savage Worlds have some fans, too.Considering that many german gamers play english RPGs, the support a game gets isn't the best indication of its success, though.

You are right of course.
Das Schwarze Auge and Midgard are the old "german" RPGs but their impact on sales germanywise is not very high. D&D and other RPGs are far more widespread. At least in my perception of things. Rolemaster sales too are very small.Vampire is very popular and Savage Worlds has been hyped quite a lot.
Pathfinder is popular too, but the main reason for this seems to be, that a lot of D&D-fans are very unhappy with the changes made to D&D by the 4th edition.

I'd say that DSA is still of some importance, considering the number of products released and forums dedicated to the game. Much more important than Midgard, although I used to prefer the latter.
The main reason of Pathfinders success in Germany is the fact that it has ongoing support whereas the only D&D 4 products in German are the PHB, DMG and MM. And while many gamers are easily convinced by the lower price and earlier and assured availability of the original products, there are still people that are too uncomfortable with the English language to give it a try.

DSA is still the biggest german player, no doubt, but with less than 40000 copies sold per year, which includes all of their products, i still think it's not a big player, even on the german market.
Regarding Pathfinder: It is very vell possible that my own rejection of the 4th edition has clouded my vision towards the real reason, why PF is popular, but to be honest: I really don't know. There is evidence for both, so i'm not sure which has the greater impact.
While this topic definately is interesting i would like to get back to the topic at hand. :)
If anyone has some documents, ideas or conversion guides, that would be a big help!

Don't know how well this'll help, but if you look at the natural armor a creature has, and look at the armour value from actual armor, then convert it over?
Ie. +9 natural AC is like full plate, so it's AT20-ish?
+4 natural is like studded leathe or something, so AT12?
Might kinda-work. Still not too familiar with rolemaster, only played it for a short time.

In the old ICE Middle Earth Modules they had a conversion chart for stats - if you can dig one up you might be able to use it as a guideline.
I did some Googlefu - These guys have converted Eberon to RM this may help
