So my party went straight from the house of planes to the murder hotel in the middle of the night. After a heated questioning with Ralso and Pratchett, I ended up having the two villains lock up some of the party in the Irriseni room, and ditch them as fast as possible. Combat ensued and after a quick picklocking, they managed to knock out Ralso while she guarded Pratchett as he ran off to the basement. My question is, how do I justify these actions with the plot of the book? When running it, I got really worried that the combined threat of Ralso and Pratchett would end up in a tpk and so I had Pratchett go to return to the basement area where he's listed in the book. I'm having a hard time figuring why he would do that though. In addition, I'm not quite certain how Pratchett should act going forward given now that he's well aware that the pc's are on his tail

Arson is, I feel, a bigger deal than what you might currently think it might be for the city. Fire can really spread and if a place the size of the Celestial Menagerie caught on fire, that could potentially burn down a major part of the city. That alongside the fact they would be burning alive a bunch of circus people, I don't even think that the constables would even consider allowing the party to go through with it, even to the point of violence. The amount of risk that they are threatening is way too great for any city guard to stand idly by.

Re: the kobold situation Would it make sense for the workers held hostage/killed be 'scabs' and that the current situation was an escalation from protest by Rekarek? That might put Skerix in a more understandable position of being caught between a rock and a hard place, needing to balance rekarek's temper against the scabs and wanting to continue her peaceful protest. She might need to hold hostages as a way to get Rekarek from just outright killing them.

I have a question about my order of this product. I have the subscription for this and received a order confirmation and a shipping confirmation, yet I don't see the PDF version available in my downloads page. Is there another email that i need to receive to also receive the pdf? I'm a bit confused as usually in the shipping confirmation email i get a link to view a pdf version as well

I can report from at least the second module, Sergeant Ollo seems to act as mission control for a party that doesn't want to deal with their actual boss. I would try to keep him as a pillar of support but otherwise i dont really see mention of the other members of edgewatch

When reading through this module, I can clearly see that they have taken a heavy inspiration from 'Devil in the White City'. While I'm not against that, I'm worried that players who know the reference material would get the serial killer immediately and thus make the adventure much more dull. What I'm especially worried about is in the beginning where the serial killer introduces himself as the owner of an inn apropos of nothing. I understand the scene is meant to introduce him so the eventual reveal is not out of left field and to also provide a nice callback later with the flayed skins but is there a way to... obfuscate the fact that this guy will be the villain? Any thoughts? One idea I had was by perhaps having the assistant be the one who does the introduction or maybe introducing multiple 'potential suspects' at a table drinking with each other.

One of my players wants to be an armorist in my Iron Gods campaign and I'm having some questions regarding their main ability, Summon Equipment, and how that would get along with the high-tech weaponry they will soon be coming across. These items are obviously better then their non-technological counterpart but because they are tech items and not magical items, the armorist could just summon them and gain additional enchantment bonus on top of that, which would make that player's effective equipment wealth above and beyond the other party member's wealth. I don't want to say no as the rest of the class seems very thematic for a technological discovery and usage campaign but it seems natural to fret over stuff like this. Would there be any compromise that can be made for this player so that he can play the class without breaking the rest of the party balance?

I'm currently running a game of Carrion Crown and one of the big plans that I have is to possess one of the characters with the Splatter Man (hopefully). The player unintentionally made their character very similar to the wizard's repertoire but as a female halfling and the idea of a battle of will between the two is too good to exist. However, I want this to be more of a long-term goal and the possession rules are not forgiving in Horror Adventures. I don't want the player to lose her character within 15 days so how do you guys think I should make it so that she can be possessed for a longer time?

This is a question for those who have already played the AP or read through it but I'm wondering which noble family from the noble scion feat in the player's guide would have the most interactivity? This could mean either fighting them down the line or serving as contacts in the rebellion but I would like to pick a family that has strong opinions over the rebellion in Kintargo and would do something about it. Any help?

the original reasoning that I gave for her rebelling was her hatred of Thrune due to her family's longstanding position as lapdogs to them but if Suthainn is right, then that might not fly for the AP. I might change my house in that case. What family should I choose under the noble scion feat to have as much interaction with house members as possible? I would really want to fight them during the AP but working with them as part of the rebellion would be fine too. I'm not asking for spoilers but if some houses are more represented than others in the AP

One of my buddies is starting up a Hell's Rebels game and I have this particular concept in mind. There's this one Chelish noble family called the House Sarini that is composed a large part of absolute psychos and executioners. Think Draven from LoL. In the book there's an option to come from the house as long as you don't share their support in House Thrune and so I wanted to make a character that was deemed too sociopathic for the family members to allow even within their numbers. Someone who in one hand is doing the toast at your wedding and with the other slip poison in the husband's drink. Frankly, I want to do Game of Thrones s%#&. How should I go about that? Currently I have (based on a 15 pt. buy)
Feats:
I'm currently considering a twf build by picking up the feats through ranger combat style but otherwise I'm at a bit of a loss. What sort of class and archetype do you think would most line up with what I described? |
