Your mission takes you to the Taldan capital city of Oppara where the intricate web of political intrigue and ages-old religious conflicts threaten the Pathfinder Society’s presence in the land. When Baron Jacquo Dalsine’s cousin is implicated in a recent attack on Society allies, the situation becomes even tighter for the Pathfinders, and at the end of the day some members of the Dalsine family may not get out unscathed.

All,

I am an experienced DM but I could really use some advice on how to deal with an issue. A group has asked me to consider DM'ing a homebrew PF campaign, but they like high magic, high powered campaigns (very high stats, items, etc.) They are veterans of 3.5 and want to relive those days as well. That includes ways to break the crafting system.

I've been told they want to do things like stacking +AC items of insight, luck, sacred, deflection, natural, etc to get up to ridiculous AC. I would have no problem with these things if it wasn't for the fact that Paizo got rid of body slot shenanigans by aligning all of the (even more slots than we used to have) into single slots and charging markups for stacking effects.

Has anyone here dealt with someone trying to revive broken portions of 3.5 crafting? What PF rules/resources are available for me to challenge this practice beyond simple DM fiat?

Thus far, I'm considering making items double cost if they are different slot than typically aligned. I'm looking for any advice to add sanity to this in a campaign that will already a bit overpowered making encounter building difficult to balance.

An adventure for [2nd-4th]-level characters

For decades, the tiny village of Ravenmoor has existed quietly on the upper reaches of the Lampblack River, far from the centers of civilization in Varisia. Linked to the outside world only by an overgrown, mostly forgotten trail, the villagers are comfortable with their isolation. Their ways are humble, quaint, and at times odd, and when travelers come, they find the town awkward and unmemorable. Certainly, the lack of a village inn, the oppressive humidity, and the bug-infested moors and swamps that surround the village do little to encourage visitors. When a clerk in the city of Magnimar discovers that, due to a clerical error, the village of Ravenmoor hasn’t paid taxes in years, a tax collector is sent to the distant community to settle accounts with its mayor. When the tax collector fails to return, however, a group of adventurers must travel to the town during its Founders’ Feast celebration to investigate his disappearance. Did he really make off with the taxes for himself, as the villagers suspect? Or did he never make it out of Ravenmoor at all?

It features a terrifying adventure set in a rural village in the frontier realm of Varisia, and a brand-new monster eager to torment and frighten unsuspecting adventurers.

The Pathfinder Society has discovered a new Aspis Consortium base in the pirate city of Riddleport and sends a small team of agents to infiltrate the rival cell disguised as newly hired mercenaries from Magnimar. After proving their value to the Aspis Consortium by carrying out a number of tasks throughout the City of Cyphers, the Pathfinders can learn the location of one of the consortium's local allies and ensure that the support the Aspis Consortium is counting on from their friends won't come.

Almost all Pathfinders undergo extensive training for three or more years to learn the tricks of the trade, and their last test before graduating from the ranks of the initiates to the status of a full Pathfinder agent is the Confirmation, a special research project that involves considerable fieldwork and is designed to simulate the initiates' future work as a Pathfinder. Even the noteworthy field commissioned agents sometimes participate in such trials as a way to familiarize themselves with the Pathfinder Society’s rules and expectations. Although Confirmation is typically an individual affair, the society recently discovered a site on the Isle of Kortos that would be perfect for initiates but perhaps too dangerous to handle alone. Successfully uncovering this site’s secrets will not only contribute to the society’s body of knowledge but shape the exciting careers ahead for each of the prospective agents.

Current Roster:
1. Zelanys (Oracle 1) - Melee
2. Flynn (Druid 1) - Support

Last minute, but I'm running Confirmation tomorrow.

Let me know if you want in. I will start the event with the first person who signs up and shows up. I will start at 8:05 with a legal table unless someone tells me they are arriving a few minutes late.

Please respond with character name/class/level/role and I will add you first come first served.

Cult of Personality
An adventure for [2nd to 4th] Pathfinder Roleplaying Game characters.

Razmir the Living God used his power to conquer an entire country; now he and his mask-wearing priests enforce peace and generosity—though some say their tools are intimidation and fear. His worshipers preach charity and self-worth, blaming rival faiths for crafting lies about the glories of the Living God. Now the cult has come to the city of Tamran, feeding the poor and promising happiness to those who serve Razmir. Yet ugly rumors persist of bribery, extortion, and strange disappearances associated with the new temple. Are these stories just gossip and lies spread by rival faiths? Or is the church of the Living God more than it seems?

I have 4 spots for this event. You must be available both nights 8-1130EST to finish up and receive a chronicle.

Need some last minute players Saturday at 8pm EDT. Who's in? Due to some schedule restrictions of my players, this will be a pretty quick runthrough if all goes well.

1. Khilani (Brawler 1)
2. Stranger (Barb 1)
3.
4.
5.
6.

I'm not looking to fill this one up, per se, just get a legal table and roll. If I get more, that's fine.

Grand Lodge 3/5

Spots open:

1. Khilani (Brawler 1)
2. Stranger (Barb 1)
3.
4.
5.
6.

Preliminary info needed:
Character name, class, level, (role if not readily apparent, like a melee, non-healer cleric). I will ask for more as it gets close to the game night by e-mail.

Small disclaimer:
If you haven't played any games on Roll20/G+ please try to get some time on it before this session. I'd like people to get familiar with macros for attack/damage together to speed up combats and initiative. Saves would also help if you aren't a quick typist. I'm totally fine giving some pointers right before the game, but I'd like to hit the ground running on this one. There's a good bit of cool role-play I don't want to detract from with virtual tabletop stuff.

I'd like some advice on feats mostly as I level. The basic tenet of the build is this: Prad dumps DEX and negative to WIS is offset by the effective double CHA to Reflex saves (Divine Grace at Pal2 and Sidestep Secret), his AC is similarly modified by CHA instead of DEX (thus the mithral shirt). Will is bumped back up by 2 for the dip into Oracle. This build has taken Focused Study (skill focus intimidate, and diplomacy at level 8) alternate racial trait.

In combat: Deals nonlethal with Blade of Mercy (trait), triggers Enforcer (feat), and uses high intimidate score (feat+trait) to shaken enemies.

Out of combat: Intend to be primary 'face' with good diplomacy/intimidate, decent melee combatant, knowledge hoarder.

Future plan: Oracle1/PaladinX - Greater Mercy, Power attack, Extra Revelation (CHA to Knowledge skills). Use lay on hands to tank or heal, channel for group healing.

This is what I need help with specifically, the feat selection as I level or any other useful tweaks that stay within the confines of what I want him to do. Also unsure if Divine Bond for weapon bonuses or an animal would be more beneficial. Bear in mind this is PFS, so there are heavy restrictions on what I can buy at low levels. That's one reason I'm planning on mithral shirt (and using CHA wand to bump up to +6 'DEX' and higher saves when I hit Paladin2/Oracle1.) I feel it will scale best for my AC as I get permanent CHA increases.

I have 2 reserved local players, and need to fill 2-4 spots. Please post here with:

Character name:
Class(es)/level(s):
Extras: (like you're a cleric that doesn't heal, you just whack things.)

I will edit/reply with the list of players by Thursday asking for other pertinent info. Expect the following: Perception, Saves, and Initiative modifiers. As we start, please have any token you like to use.

According to recent Aasimar source material, small aasimars (perhaps the descendants of halflings with celestial DNA) exist. Are small Aasimar's legal in PFS?

This would basically be the choice of only changing one thing, medium size to small size. (which would obviously cause some in-game effects like smaller weapon damage, +1 size bonus to AC, etc)

Sort of last minute, but I'm hosting a run-through of The Confirmation tomorrow on Roll20. Fair warning that it's my first Roll20 session, but I'm a seasoned DM.

First come, first served. Post here that you're interested. First 3-5 people who post available please E-mail me at Zain60@hotmail.com with:
Name
Character name/class/lvl
Society/Character ID
Initiative bonus

I'll post the forum name/character/level of attendees on this post. I will cancel the game if we don't get enough or experience technical issues.

Recently had a rules disagreement with a PFS scenario GM about whether a witch could five foot step, cackle, and use a standard action. His ruling was that another move action would be 'moving twice' and therefore too powerful. I started to think a one-page cheat sheet would be useful so I made a prototype to carry to games. You can find it Here.

If there are any edits/adds please contact me here. I'd like to make it a useful product for PFS players where round economy is often paramount and takes a long time if players don't understand the actions allowed or a GM is unsure what provokes, etc.

Thanks!

One of my players recommended I share some of the things that I make for our players/games to smooth things along. These aren't documents I maintain regularly but I hope they can be of use to you.

Go to my shared drive to access them. Comment here if you'd like some changes made or have ideas for some one-page documents that would help your game. I do them on my off time to help my players/group have to flip through as few pages as possible.

I only ask that if you edit them/share them, please let me know so I can benefit from the edits/upgrades.

Current File List:

Called Shots Cheat Sheet (fairly refined, let me know if you find errors)

Mounted Combat Cheat Sheet (made originally for my Halfling Cavalier, edit values for your own)

Combat Actions Cheat Sheet (prototype, text in red provokes AoO)

Gorelock Grapple Sheet (A quick guide for a Tetori or other high level grappler, edit values/dice for other grapplers. Intended to teach round economy and strategy to a new player... like Gorelock who wanted his first character to be a Tetori, don't report errors as this was made for a character who no longer exists.)

Enjoy!

Normally, called shots are full round actions, Improved Called Shot lets you make one as a standard action, and Greater Called Shot says:

Whenever you make an attack, you can choose to replace that attack with a called shot. You can make multiple called shots in a single round. Each additional called shot after the first made in the same round takes a –5 penalty. In addition, a called shot that deals half the creature’s hit points of damage (minimum 40) is a debilitating blow.

So, when I charge, can I replace the charging single attack with a called shot and still gain all the other benefits of charging?

Charge rule:
After moving, you may make a single melee attack. You get a +2 bonus on the attack roll and take a –2 penalty to your AC until the start of your next turn.

Quote:
Whenever you make an attack, you can choose to replace that attack with a called shot. You can make multiple called shots in a single round. Each additional called shot after the first made in the same round takes a –5 penalty.

Bottom Line:

Is the negative 5 per attack mention of the simple iteration of secondary and tertiary attacks in the D20 system (ie. a level 11 fighter who has a +11/+6/+1 (-5 iteration each) attack. OR is this cumulative negatives? OR is this a flat -5 to any called shot made after the first. (+0, -5, -5 modifiers on the attack ratings above)

Background:
Greater called shot mentions a -5 penalty to every iterative called shot made as part of a full attack/multiple attack. I have one question with multiple consequences:

False iteration: TWF/Flurry of ... Called Shots?

If I'm +10/+5 and +10/+5 with my offhand weapon for the sake of argument, if I called shot with my primary (+10) then make one with my secondary hand (+10) is it now -5 (+5 total), then the second primary hand attack could conceivably be the third called shot, making it -5 (+0 total).

OR worse, is this a cumulative -5, IE, first called shot is normal, second is -5, third is -10?

Secondly, someone who's using a 1h or 2h weapon, who is hasted, does the hasted attack (made first) make normal attack bonus, but the second full attack bonus attack take a -5 penalty, while the third/fourth attacks each take -5 as well, OR worse, a cumulative -5 each (-5, -10, -15)
