"If you could open the door to his burial chamber, we would be grateful."

He healed his wounds first, and then enchanted Lilata's weapon, case there was some sort of guardian beyond the door.

Shardarch will cast Magic Weapon on a weapon of Lilata's choice, just before Mabar opens the hidden door.

Shadrach greeted the man, "Hello sir! My name is Shadrach. Are you Tular Seft? For that is the name the person whose tomb this is supposed to be." He bowed.

"We have come here to find an artifact known to us as a 'Countdown Clock.' It is reportedly a large gemstone with a series of shifting hieroglyphs glowing inside it.

"A group of dangerous cultists called the Night Heralds are apparently coming here seeking the gem as well."

I assume we're getting near the end of part 2. What are the character creation guidelines for the next part? It always takes me quite a while to make a character.

I realize I made a mistake on the 2nd round of combat: Shadrach needed to spend an action to grip his bastard sword 2-handed, so he couldn't have cast Shield that round. Given the dice rolls, it didn't end up making a difference.

He carefully studying each of the equations and tried to work out a solution.

Shadrach studied the circles and symbols for a few minutes. Eventually he said to everyone else, "It look like we're missing a fire and air elemental gem. We can either tr to solve the equations without them, or we can go and fight some more elementals."

After camping for the night, Shadrach rose in the morning and made breakfast. Once everyone was ready to go, he continued the exploration of the tomb. At the split in the passageway, he continued along the northeast branch.

Let me know if anyone is down HP in the morning. At the very least, Shadrach will contribute his minor healing potion to someone who is still wounded. The fights are dangerous enough that we shouldn't go into battle with anyone down a significant amount of health.

AC is almost twice as important as in PF1, IMHO. I'm not sure that's a good thing.

I agree about monsters being too good. The high saves make saving throw spells not generally worth casting.

Right now, the main effect of resonance seems to be to punish alchemists.

I'm getting the feeling that optimizing AC is really important.

At the last second, Shadrach blocked the elemental's fist with his force shield. Cast cast Shield for another 10 minutes.

Shadrach healed Lilata, who was badly injured.

He also healed Anklebiter.

Updated my profile with the dex modifier.

Edit: The general rule of thumb is armor+max dex modifier=7. Assuming a PC is hitting the max dex, AC=10+Level+7+magic bonus+extra proficiency (1 for expert, 2 for master etc).

I should have mentioned it in my previous post, but the Shield spell gives a +1 circumstance bonus to AC, so the earth elemental would miss with a 22.

RAW, it would seem that if an enemy drops you with an AoO on your turn, and you get healed, you can get up safely before the enemy goes again (because its reaction hasn't refreshed yet), and attack. Getting dropped by an AoO is the poor man's haste! :)

I'm getting the feeling that you have to assume that leader types have reactions. I can see there being issues with metagaming, however.

Shield (cantrip):

Duration until your next turn or until dismissed.

You raise a magical shield of force to protect you. This counts as using the Raise a Shield action (see the sidebar) to gain a +1 circumstance bonus to AC until the start of your next turn, though it doesn’t require a hand to use.
While the spell is in effect, you can also use the Shield Block reaction with your magic shield. The shield has Hardness 4. After you use Shield Block, the spell is dismissed and you can’t cast it again for 10 minutes. Unlike a normal Shield Block, you can use the spell’s reaction against the magic missile spell.
Heightening the spell increases the Hardness.
Heightened (3rd) Hardness 10.
Heightened (5th) Hardness 15.
Heightened (7th) Hardness 20.

AC 23 until next round. Shadrach will use the Shield Block reaction if he gets hit.
