Works for me. Whether the next Toho Godzilla was a followup to Shin or not, more monsters would have been added eventually. And a Godzilla that falls asleep for weeks at a time isn't really greatly suited to monster vs monster battles. Don't get me wrong, I really liked Shin Godzilla, and the Godzilla monster itself was awesome...but them making it so lazy was a lot less awesome.

I liked the show, but I do think that the original movie had a lot more fun. At time TV Buffy seemed intent on wallowing in it's own teen angst b&+!#+$$. I actually found I preferred the odd-numbered seasons a lot more than the even numbered seasons, for whatever reason.

Plus Kristy Swanson was way hotter than Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Yep, "Sleeping in Light" was a great way to end the fourth season, that's for sure!

Honestly, and I'll probably be branded a B5 heretic for this, but I'm not really a fan of "Sleeping in Light". It's a just a few characters ambling around the station with no real coherent plotline. Of course, that makes it a fitting end for season 5, which essentially shares that same synopsis.

The second half of season 4 might have been rushed, but that was nothing compared to how bad season 5 was due to the last-minute renewal after all the worthy plot threads had been rushed to conclusion.

If there is a DVD release that has all the episodes in the correct order, I am unaware of it. My personal DVDs most certainly are NOT in the order prescribed by The Lurker's Guide to Babylon 5: Master Episode List, but is in the order in which the episodes originally aired. Again, it's nothing major, but having watched both orderings, the one I linked is better, and JMS has endorsed it.

Dark Archive

Werthead wrote:

Babylon 5 his Amazon Prime in the USA today.

Although oddly they don't start with the pilot, you have to go to the very bottom of Season 1's listing and find it under "bonus material".

The other TV movies and CRUSADE aren't on there yet, they should follow in a month or so.

Amazon sometimes makes it hard to know what the correct order to watch something is. Their (new) Doctor Who is REALLY messed up...some of the seasons are split into two parts, and the Christmas specials are bundled into several different sections by themselves.

I have all the DVDs (with the exceptions of Crusade). I kind of wish they would do another DVD release, but put all the episodes in the intended order. The airing order isn't too bad, but it does get a bit noticeable when Delenn starts teleporting back and forth between Mimbar and the stations for a few episodes.

Dark Archive

Somewhat. Marvel's strongest commonly used character is the Hulk....his strength level is usually measured in hundreds of tons.
DC has Superman, who's strength level I've seen listed as being in quintillions of tons.

Quicksilver vs the Flash is something like Mach 10 vs 2.4 × 10^43 the speed of light.

And of course there's the crowning Mary Sue of Detective Comics...Batgod, who could probably defeat the One Above All.

Dark Archive

DC often seems to fall victim to the same trap as the 3.5/Pathfinder wizards...they make their heroes so overpowered that it breaks the ability to tell a coherent story in half unless the writers ignore a lot of what the heroes can do.

Does Lena and the entire DEO really think that reverse engineering a "cure" for Sam is really going to be so easy? Creating a Worldkiller was done with both Kryptonian science AND magic. Lena merely using science seems unlikely to work.

Why did the guy trying to kill Alex use such horribly slow bombs?

I'm curious to see how the Mon-El hate brigade spins his curing the kid as some sort of horrible misogynistic controlling a@%~$+* move.

"Wait for backup, Agent Danvers" You can fly faster than she can run, dumbass. YOU are her backup.

WTF was with Alex randomly being able to fly for a half-second there, from handing off the ledge to standing on it? Don't even try to claim the magnet suit, that was ridiculous.

I'm glad Alex finally seems to be realizing that she might not be the perfect fit for a parent/guardian at the moment. She's acknowledging that someone that seems to have a bit of a death wish isn't appropriate for that role. She's still ignoring the fact that she is 100% an alcoholic, but baby steps are better than none.

(Obviously excluding Kirk, Spock, and McCoy...although Scotty also generally got a bit more than the others.)

The writers seem to think that there's no need to ever use a scalpel when nuclear bomb is available. I'm not opposed to them having a political agenda, but they could at least make some effort to not make it stick out like a sore thumb.

I'm going on the theory that Flash interferes in such a way that causes Devoe's stupifying ray to retroactively affect the entire Arrowverse going back at least 6 years, although with less extreme results. It would help explain a large number of decisions that characters across all the shows have made.

The article is such a horrible idea. They seem hell-bent on shoehorning Iris into being a main character, despite the fact that she really should be a reoccurring character.

Did the writers test Devoe's stupifying ray on themselves?

Sometimes my rings of contrariness go into overdrive. I hate Coulson, who seems to be the heart and soul of the show. You can't violate WBL for an pre-existing character. WBL was created to give a guideline for DMs on how much wealth to give to a newly created character that was starting out above 1st level. It was never intended as a shackle for both players and GMs to chain them to a specific level of wealth for the entire existence of a given character. That's rather moronic. Why bother defeating the dragon sitting on a mountain of gold if it's a pre-determined fact that the mountain will collapse and 99% of that mountain of gold will never be accessible? People who thing that WBL should be strictly followed for existing characters have a dearth of imagination, and should probably look into other hobbies.

The OGL is controlled by Wizards of the Coast, not Paizo

Everything on the PRD is also open. As such, a 3PP could make spell cards for any of the spells from the PRD. The only spells that count as Paizo's IP are those that are NOT included in the PRD...ie some of the spells from various Adventure Path, Module, Player Companion, or Campaign Setting supplements, that haven't been reprinted in a PRD rulebook.

There is a slight grey area with those books from the rule book like that Paizo hasn't bothered to add the PRD as of yet (and probably never will). However, I believe the actual books themselves have the language necessary in them to make their contents open.

An interesting idea would be to only give bonus skill points at 1st level. However, EVERY stat gives bonus skill points, but those bonus skill points have to be applied to skill that use that stat.

That would mean that every character gets a lot of the bonus skill points at first level, but they would mostly go into the types of skill that are archtypical for their class (assuming that the player chooses to put their highest stats into their classes "prime requisite").

Someone, somewhere, decided that having a class that was awful 90% of the time but that got to do stupendously awesome things the other 10% of the time was a good idea. The reason there will always be a disparity between casters and martials is that the martial gets to do his cool things at - will, and the caster gets 3 cool things per day (or whatever number you want to put there). By necessity, a cool thing you can only do once or twice per day is going to be much cooler than a cool thing you can do all the time.

See, this was fine when the caster only could do that cool thing 3 times. THe problem is that the caster is given options to do that cool thing a LOT more often. And that went into overdrive with 3.0, 3.5, and Pathfinder. By the mid-point of Pathfinder, it was pretty easy for the caster to be doing that cool thing as much as he wanted.
