as the lid falls from the second chest Serivintus turns to Forgan

"sin mar a tha e ga dhèanamh . 's dòcha faodaidh tu leagadh an dithis eile chadalach."

Dwarven:
that is how it is done. maybe you can hack of the other two lids.

He then walks over and loots the lidless chest.

Not sure what y'all want to do but I got a dagger and a ring so I am happy I don't need to die this early on.

Damn chests.[b] Serivintus cries as he cant figure out how to get around the auras. [b]"Can anyone dispel magic?"

Serivintus takes out is bow and fires an arrow into the top of one of the chests.

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6

I'm going to open the chests one by one and search them. If I encounter any traps I will attempt to disable them. I don't know what you want me to roll but that's kinda my plan.

So were the auras just on the first chest or did I open any of the other chests I thought I opened all of them.

Serivintus beckons to Forgan with his hand for the ring back.

leig dhomh fhaicinn gu bheil fàinne air ais , tapadh leibh

Dwarven:

Let me see that ring back, thank you.

Serivintus turns to the next chest and repeats the process of disarming any magical traps.

Perception (traps): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Disable Device: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Well... That didn't go as well

I'm...I'm not dead... Thank you Desna. But what is this Dagger and a pinky ring. Hardly worth all that work. But atleast I wasn't turned to stone.

Letting out a sigh of relief as the last chest is dealt with Serivintus hands the ring back to the dwarf.

Feuch, tha mi duine de m ' fhacal.

Dwarven:
See, I am a man of my word.

Now what about these meager spoils. Looking over the Dagger first and then the ring Serivintus attempts to glean as much information about them as he can especially what they are made of and what they are worth.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
appraise: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

I only did 1 check for both but I can roll again for the other if you want.

"Be ready for anything,"He says to the group before turning to the first chest.

Serivintus slips the ring onto the thumb of his left hand and reaches out for the chest.

"If ever there was a time to pray now would be it."

In the ancient language of his people, the elves, Serivintus recites a short prayer.
"Desna vara amin ar' brien amin marth."

Elvish:
Desna protect me and bring me luck

As he reaches out Serivintus looks for any traps both magical and physical and attempts to disable any that he comes across. If none are present or if he fails to detect any he will go ahead and open the first chest.

Perception (traps): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
disable device: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

'well it seems as though I have to try though I fear it will be the death of me.

Turning from the chests to the dwarf Serivintus says.

Tha fios agam gu bheil thu a ràdh nach adhbhar gu earbsadh rium le fàinne gun ach tha mi dragh a nochdadh gum b 'urrainn dhomh bàs às aonais. Ma tha thu a dh'fhaodadh leig dhomh ga chleachdadh gus feuchainn ri sin fhosgladh cisteachan mi bhehaireadh e ceart air ais , ma im fhathast be.

Dwarven:
trust me with that ring but I am worried that I could die without it. If you could let me use it to try to open these chests I would give it right back, if im still alive.

How many bodies are there infront of the chests?

Hmm I wonder what exactly an aura of conjuration does and if that ring that Forgan has could help us out. I am weary of just going up to these chests and attempting to open them without knowing what I am getting myself into.

Knowledge Arcana: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

Turning to the others he says. “I'm not sure that there is anyway around setting off these auras. We could attempt them one by one but I fear we are in for a fight either way. Turning to the two half elves he adds, "Any suggestions?

I'm sure that these chests are boobytraped but this is no ordinary job, just look at all the lives that it has claimed. I could cone out of this a very rich man, or a very dead one. Best take it slow.

Serivintus walks up to the leftmost chest and peers at the portrait and the inscription. He then moves to the next chest and so on down the line until he has examined each from a distance.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

Tha draoidheachd fàinne dh'fhaodadh's dòcha iarraidh 950, ach tha mi a dh'fhaodadh gu bheil fios a Guy a dh'fhaodadh a phàigheadhfaisg air 1100 , ma's urrainn dhomh bruidhinn ris a-steach e. Serivintus says, addressing the dwarf.

Dwarven:
The magic ring could probably fetch 950, but I may know a guy who may pay near 1100, if I can talk him into it.

Bluff: 1d20 ⇒ 8

Addressing his companions Serivintus exclaims, "Now that the matter of the Rings is settled I agree with Sylus, left seems right".

Without waiting for a reply Serivintus hefts is bow and starts quietly down the left path careful not to be spotted by any who may loom down the passage.
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Some real fantastic rolls there...

@fearcypher
I rolled an appraise check and would want to respond to Forgan's question on what it's worth I know the grasping shadows said 1000 but what does Serivintus think it can fetch at market?

Nice crit, unfortunate timing for me.

"What? This ring?" Serivintus says looking over the ring and twirling around the end of his finger. "Hmm, not sure how it got here, must have fallen into my hand as you brazenly pushed passed me." Serivintus does nothing to conceal the lie. "In any case here you are, catch." Serivintus flips the ring to Forgan end over end as you would a coin.

"How could I have been so slow as to be caught, and by a dwarf of all beingings. Blast I can't let that happen again."

If I could I'd like to still appraise the ring before giving it back.

"After you master Forgan. Serivintus says as the dwarf bowls past him.

As the dwarf nudges him Serivintus slips nimble fingers quickly into the dwarfs pocket and extracts one of the rings.

Slight of Hand: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

As he pulls out the ring he inspects it and attempts to determine its worth.

Appraise: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

"Thank you Aruska" Serivintus says with a slight bow. Turning to the dwarf he adds "Of course you do" He says wit a smile and a wink.

"I'll check this door for traps"
Heading towards the door he inspects it carefully, searching for any signs of tampering.

Perception traps: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21

Serivintus wipes blood from his brow and notices that it is still bleeding. He cuts a strip of cloth from his outfit and ties it securely around his head in an attempt to quell the bleeding.

Heal: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

"Claw bats are nasty creatures we need to stop the bleeding of any wounds. They track by the scent of blood and if there are any more of them in here the smell will serve as a beacon to them. I seem to be a bit clumsy can someone come and help me tie this in the back"

"Gu leòr cuideigin àrd gu leòr." He says smiling at Forgan.

Dwarven:
"Preferably someone tall enough."

"Ahhh,"Serivintus yells as the best takes a bite out of his face. "get this damn clawbat away from me."

With blood dripping from his face Serivintus loads and fires another arrow from point blank range.

Attack: 1d20 ⇒ 11
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 3

Serivintus fires the arrow that he had loaded, aiming carefully as to not hit his companions.

Attack: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 7+0 if within 30ft
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8

As he fires he attempts to recall what kind of beast this is.

knowledge dungeneering: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

I was just coming to ask you what you were using to translate. Nice choice, I also am going kinda xenophobic. Should make for an interesting dynamic, a group who can't get along but is trying to keep eachother alive.

Since we can all see with atleast low light I say we take a stealthy approach but then again thats usually my opinion.

Serivintus sheaths his sword and draws his bow. Moving stealthy with the group keeping an eye out for traps.

Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13

Hoping that this skeleton must be close to death, or re death Serivintus swings his Longsword again.

Attack: 1d20 ⇒ 17
damage: 1d8 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6

Serivintus absorbs the blow with a wince. oof! You swine! He yells swinging his Longsword at the skeleton who had just attempted to eviscerate him.

Attack: 1d20 ⇒ 2
damage: 1d8 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 7

As Serivintus enters the room he sees bones come to life and form skeletons right before his eyes he quickly fires off the arrow that he had notched on his string at the nearest materialized skeleton.

Longbow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8+1 if within 30feet.

piercing damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6

He then remembers that these are skeletons and that his arrows will probably do little if any damage and quickly slings his bow and draws his Longsword.

"Rhaich!" Serivintus cries out as he is hit with a blast of flame.

Elvish:
Curses!

"I have disabled the trap" he says turning to the rest of the group. "Shall we proceed?"

Once the fire disperses Serivintus draws his bow and pushes the door open to look and see what lies beyond the booby trapped door.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

Yes it was and my roll at the end of post includes it too. Also how do you feel about taking 10 or 20 on things like analyzing a door?

"It seems that you were right to be Wary Sylus. There is some kind of trap here. Though I don't know exactly what it does. Stand back while I see if I can figure out how to disable it." Serivintus beckons to the rest of the group.

"Hmm, a trip wire of some sort" Serivintus thinks to himself tying his long golden hair in a bun atop his head with an old bow string to keep it out of his eyes."Seems simple enough."

Disable Device: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

As he awakes Serivintus wipes the sleep out of his eyes and examines his surroundings, momentarily forgetting where he was.

"Something about a necromancer, I think I'm in some kind of crypt. No a mausoleum I think. Either way it seems to be time to rise."

As he dons his weapons and armor Sylus, the half blood speaks up about checking the wooden door.

"I belive I can be of some services here."Serivintus says acknowledging the wisdom in Sylus's forethought. Maybe he wasn't as daft as other half bloods Serivintus had come across in his years.

He makes his way over to the door and looks it over for any sign that is has been boobytraped.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26

Serivintus the Elven Rogue is here.
