Tha draoidheachd fàinne dh'fhaodadh's dòcha iarraidh 950, ach tha mi a dh'fhaodadh gu bheil fios a Guy a dh'fhaodadh a phàigheadhfaisg air 1100 , ma's urrainn dhomh bruidhinn ris a-steach e. Serivintus says, addressing the dwarf.

Dwarven:
The magic ring could probably fetch 950, but I may know a guy who may pay near 1100, if I can talk him into it.

Bluff: 1d20 ⇒ 8

Addressing his companions Serivintus exclaims, "Now that the matter of the Rings is settled I agree with Sylus, left seems right".

Without waiting for a reply Serivintus hefts is bow and starts quietly down the left path careful not to be spotted by any who may loom down the passage.
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

Some real fantastic rolls there...

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Forgan eyes Serivintus critically, before shrugging and tucking the ring back into the pack.

You know, this elf seems pretty nice. For an elf at least...He did try to steal from me, but that's just their nature after all. I might take him up on that offer. After I confirm the price with a trustworthy dwarf that is.

Hefting the hammer across his shoulder Forgan heads into the darkness after Serivintus.

Stealth: 1d20 - 6 ⇒ (12) - 6 = 6
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Don't worry, I will always be louder than you when it comes to stealth. :P That's what they call a distraction!

After reading Serivintus' reply, I thought of this

Aruska will follow along behind the group. She has her crossbow out and ready.

Fear, did aruska find anything out about the statue from my rolls earlier?
That matches that post wonderfully, Victor. lol

Sylus will follow the others to the left.

@Aruska, you found nothing of not in the statue, but you do notice that several areas have been worn away by people grabbing at it. Mainly the hands and face.

As you approach down the left path you come upon a room filled with with what appear to be chests filled with loot and gold. The room is circular with a door on the right side. and four chests along the left wall, each with a different portrait and an inscription above it. However in front of the chests you notice many corpses. The bodies appear to have wasted away unnaturally, and unlike the others you've seen so far they do not stir.

Dwarven:
Something seems amiss here. Maybe sneaky ears should see if he can get us that treasure.

Forgan crudely gestures for Serivintus to check the chests, apparently forgetting or ignoring that the elf had spoken perfect dwarven earlier.

Vic tries to get a good look at the portraits and inscriptions. hoping to make some sense of them.

I'm sure that these chests are boobytraped but this is no ordinary job, just look at all the lives that it has claimed. I could cone out of this a very rich man, or a very dead one. Best take it slow.

Serivintus walks up to the leftmost chest and peers at the portrait and the inscription. He then moves to the next chest and so on down the line until he has examined each from a distance.

The inscriptions are names. None of you seem to remember anything about them(Unless forgan has Knowledge History I cant access Mythweavers right now) Though the names do seem to a be quite elaborate.

Sylus detects an aura of conjuration around the chests, and notifies the rest of the party as such.

Male Human Fighter1 HP 12 / 14 | AC 15, touch 9, flat-footed 15 | Fort +4, Ref -1, Will -2 | Init -1 Perc -1

Forgan has no ranks in Knowledge History

Hmm I wonder what exactly an aura of conjuration does and if that ring that Forgan has could help us out. I am weary of just going up to these chests and attempting to open them without knowing what I am getting myself into.

Knowledge Arcana: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

Turning to the others he says. “I'm not sure that there is anyway around setting off these auras. We could attempt them one by one but I fear we are in for a fight either way. Turning to the two half elves he adds, "Any suggestions?

Also I made an error in my notes, the aura is actually a strong aura of conjuration with a weak necromancy aura as well.

How many bodies are there infront of the chests?

About 2 or 3 per chest. They appear to be kneeling/Reaching for the chests.

'well it seems as though I have to try though I fear it will be the death of me.

Turning from the chests to the dwarf Serivintus says.

Tha fios agam gu bheil thu a ràdh nach adhbhar gu earbsadh rium le fàinne gun ach tha mi dragh a nochdadh gum b 'urrainn dhomh bàs às aonais. Ma tha thu a dh'fhaodadh leig dhomh ga chleachdadh gus feuchainn ri sin fhosgladh cisteachan mi bhehaireadh e ceart air ais , ma im fhathast be.

Dwarven:
trust me with that ring but I am worried that I could die without it. If you could let me use it to try to open these chests I would give it right back, if im still alive.

Male Dwarf Barbarian1 Max HP 9 | AC 13, touch 8, flat-footed 13 | Fort +1, Ref -2, Will +1 | Init -2 Perc 5

" 'S e seo an dàrna turas a bhios sibh a' feuchainn ri fhaighinn air iasad seo fàinne . Tha mi a 'cur luach sibh a' faighneachd an àm seo co-dhiù."

Dwarven:

"This is the second time you have tried to borrow this ring. I appreciate you asking this time at least."

Forgan digs the ring out of his pocket and gingerly hands it over to Serivintus. He once again watches the elf closely to ensure that the ring comes back in the same condition, and that it is the same ring.

"Be ready for anything,"He says to the group before turning to the first chest.

Serivintus slips the ring onto the thumb of his left hand and reaches out for the chest.

"If ever there was a time to pray now would be it."

In the ancient language of his people, the elves, Serivintus recites a short prayer.
"Desna vara amin ar' brien amin marth."

Elvish:
Desna protect me and bring me luck

As he reaches out Serivintus looks for any traps both magical and physical and attempts to disable any that he comes across. If none are present or if he fails to detect any he will go ahead and open the first chest.

Perception (traps): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
disable device: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

You manage to find magical runes on each of the chests. Though you manage to disable them with some tricks gleaned from the old elven ways.

As you open the chests it would appear that most of the gold and items were illusions. Most of the gold coins rocks, and the items old and rusted. In the first chest there are two exceptions. One is a small dagger that is exceptionally well made and appears to be made from a metal other than iron or steel. The other is a small metal band that would appear to be made to fit around the fingers of an emaciated person.

I'm...I'm not dead... Thank you Desna. But what is this Dagger and a pinky ring. Hardly worth all that work. But atleast I wasn't turned to stone.

Letting out a sigh of relief as the last chest is dealt with Serivintus hands the ring back to the dwarf.

Feuch, tha mi duine de m ' fhacal.

Dwarven:
See, I am a man of my word.

Now what about these meager spoils. Looking over the Dagger first and then the ring Serivintus attempts to glean as much information about them as he can especially what they are made of and what they are worth.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
appraise: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

I only did 1 check for both but I can roll again for the other if you want.

Sylus will detect magic on the ring and will then move to look down the hall way to the right.

"Shall we continue on then? That was good work with the chests"

Male Dwarf Barbarian1 Max HP 9 | AC 13, touch 8, flat-footed 13 | Fort +1, Ref -2, Will +1 | Init -2 Perc 5

Accepting the ring back from Serivintus, Forgan strides forward and picks up one of the pebbles that moments ago was a gold coin.

Ceàrr òir? Uile uamhasaiche cleasan a tharraing air onarach troich.

Dwarven:
Fake gold? Of all the diabolical tricks to pull on an honest dwarf.

He notices the frailer looking elf babbling and pointing down the direction of the next hallway. Nodding he heads in that direction, hammer at the ready.

@Serivintus You know the dagger is a mithral dagger. It is masterwork and counts as silver for overcoming DR. It also wehgs half as much as a normal dagger, if you are close to encumbrance.

@Sylus the ring is magical and has a faint conjuration aura.

In case I wasn't clear you have only opened one chest.

To the right you see a hall with more portraits on the walls, at the end is another door.

Turning back and waiting fro Serivintas to open the other chests, Sylus tries to determine what the ring is.

So were the auras just on the first chest or did I open any of the other chests I thought I opened all of them.

Serivintus beckons to Forgan with his hand for the ring back.

leig dhomh fhaicinn gu bheil fàinne air ais , tapadh leibh

Dwarven:

Let me see that ring back, thank you.

Serivintus turns to the next chest and repeats the process of disarming any magical traps.

Aruska stands back and watches as the chests are opened one by one. She isn't sure how she can be helpful other than just watching and being ready in case they were attacked.

@Serivintus The auras were on all of them and you succeeded in opening one of the 4 chests.

As you search the next chest you are unable to find any summoning runes and as such cannot attempt to disable them. However it would appear that the chest is actually unlocked.

I'm going to open the chests one by one and search them. If I encounter any traps I will attempt to disable them. I don't know what you want me to roll but that's kinda my plan.

Well you know that there are magical auras on the chests. You can't seem to find any runes on them. you also know that they are unlocked and not all the loot is real. Are you sure you want to continue

Male Dwarf Barbarian1 Max HP 9 | AC 13, touch 8, flat-footed 13 | Fort +1, Ref -2, Will +1 | Init -2 Perc 5

Dwarven:
"You seem to be hesitating ears. Do you want to big strong dwarf to protect you from the scary treasure? Just say the word and I can open the chests the easy way or the hard way."

If you want we can try the non-rogue way of trapfinding, sending in the meat shield. What's the worst that can happen?

Not sure what y'all want to do but I got a dagger and a ring so I am happy I don't need to die this early on.

Damn chests.[b] Serivintus cries as he cant figure out how to get around the auras. [b]"Can anyone dispel magic?"

Serivintus takes out is bow and fires an arrow into the top of one of the chests.

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6
CritConfirm: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

Since that was a double crit. You should be proud.

As you fire an arrow into the chest you manage to shear off almost all of the top. There is a faint spark of magic but it quickly dissipates in the shrapnel from the chest. The contents are yours to take.

as the lid falls from the second chest Serivintus turns to Forgan

"sin mar a tha e ga dhèanamh . 's dòcha faodaidh tu leagadh an dithis eile chadalach."

Dwarven:
that is how it is done. maybe you can hack of the other two lids.

He then walks over and loots the lidless chest.

Male Dwarf Barbarian1 Max HP 9 | AC 13, touch 8, flat-footed 13 | Fort +1, Ref -2, Will +1 | Init -2 Perc 5

Uill ma aige cho furasta sin carson nach do rinn thu sin a ràdh luaithe ? Bha mo sheanair a 'teagasg dhomh mar a bualadh an cinn dheth Deamhain nuair a bha mi glùin àrd ri sìthiche. Chan urrainn a bhith fada nas cruaidhe na sin.

Dwarven:
"Well if its as easy as that why didn't you say so sooner? Me grand taught me how to knock heads off orcs when I was knee high to a fey. Can't be much harder than that."

Forgan rushes forward and takes a mighty swing horizontally at the closest chest, looking to bash the lid right off of it's hinges.

Attacking Inanimate Objects: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

Vic simply stays back watching the show and hoping for the best.

Magic really isn't his forte.
