Selindra's eyes widen, as she sees the creature and its interest in the holy symbols. The pretty..., why is he looking at..., Iomedae..., woman..., no master...

She gasps and looks down at him. "Blades at the ready!" Selindra once again draws the golden blade from her scabbard, it's luminescent glow spreading into the room. She readies her shield and prepares to advance on the creature.

Using her move action to detect evil at the creature.

Selindra growls. "Enough of this, Vardan!"

She sets herself.

Strength Check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

She gives Vardan the high sign, and takes a step back, before thrusting her boot at the door, trying to crash it in and give Vardan a clear shot into the room.

Selindra blinks, hearing the screams, and immediately draws her new blade. Comforted by the golden glow, Selindra moves over to the door, pointing at Godwin and Varden, signaling them silently to flank the doorway, while she tries to spy inside to see what is happening.

Selindra casts her eyes over the field and looks to the others. "The way that I see it, our best plan is to head north and skirt the rifts. There is no telling what sort of foul magics still lie active in them. Doing so is going to put us closer to Anevia's home, so if Master Horgus would be willing to indulge us, We can get Anevia to her wife, and then have a safer pathway to his manse."

Selindra nods, looking around the structure. "If your people wish to stay Vash, then hole yourselves up and dig in. With that being the case, only having Anevia and Horgus with us, I suggest that we make for Anevia's home next and get her to her wife..." Selindra stops mid sentence for a moment, like she just finally processed something, but keeps going. "...at which point we can get Horgus to his home and then figure out where to go ourselves."

She looks to Godwin. "Brother, if I am not mistaken, we are going to pass right by Anevia's home on the way to Horgus's. It seems foolish to go past, just to have to turn around and come back."

Selindra sighs a soft sigh, coming over and offering a shoulder and a hand to Aravashnial. She lowers her head, speaking softly.

"Karera wa sōzoku no megumi de yasumu koto ga arimasu."

Tien:
May they rest in the Inheritor's grace.

She rests a mailed hand on Aravashnial's shoulder. "When the time is ready, and we are not beset on by the demon's ilk, If you would like we can prepare a memorial for their memory. For now, the real question is do you wish to stay behind here with the others, or would you like to bring them with us to seek safe haven?"

"Seems the other demon born has fled."

She comes back in and seems to be taking a little time to calm herself. She comes over to help cut loose the remaining librarians. "Are you all alright? Aravashnial was worried about you. We should get everyone to a safe location."

Radiance, High=Hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 181d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 111d100 ⇒ 37
Don't know if DE gives her the ability to ignore concealment or not, or reduces it to normal concealment. d100 there just for making the determination

As Selindra sees the one Tiefling fall, and the Cavalier fall, her eyes scan the room as they have been for a few moments, and an inky aura seems to come into view.

Without another word, She raises Radiance high, and rushes to the door. What she is going for, or why she looks like she is trying to hack the door apart though would be anyone's guess.

So Shathira, I have been thinking, and wondered if you wouldn't mind. One of Selindra's level one feats was Fey Foundling. Basically adding +2 per die rolled on healing affecting her, and adding +1 to damage rolls against her with cold iron weaponry.

Fey don't really fit into this campaign, but do you mind reskinning it a bit, so that her heritage is demonic in nature, tied to her campaign trait? Whatever the event was in the past ended up giving her an aspect of demons that helps her heal, but also makes her more vulnerable to the weapons commonly used to fight them?

Will Save vs DC16: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12 Assuming shaken condition here.

Selindra reels from the blow, her eyes widening as the blow lands home. The combination of his strength and menace bringing the first touch of fear in the lady warrior's eyes.

CLW potion: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 Using move action.

Her hands starting to fumble a moment, she grasps at her belt and quickly gulps down the potion she has been holding onto, mixing with her unusual heritage and causing her wounds to mend unnaturally fast, even for a potion.

Though the dread starts to spread in her eyes, she reaches down deep within herself, drawing out her inner fire and gripping Radiance. I will never surrender my companions, nor will I flee from my enemies. My heart is my strength, and my Goddess is my shield. Smite evil, Cavalier as target.

Radiance: 1d20 + 7 - 2 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 7 - 2 + 3 = 201d8 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 1 + 2 = 13

She lets out battle shout, clanging her sword to her shield, as Radiance spouts white golden flame. Her eyes burn the same color, as she draws deeply on her inner strength. "By the same mouth, you curse the gods and curse the good people of Mendev and Kenebras. You intend to destroy both knowledge and life, and seek to pervert those of the faithful. You should care less about your petty grievances and instead make peace with your maker."

Action economy: Move action to down the one potion she has. Swift action declaring smite target on the Cav. Attack normally. Attack is accounting for a state of being shaken, applying -2 for the fear effect. Smite now making her AC against the Cav 23 for the time being.

Selindra lets her anger rage as she draws back Radiance and takes aim at the man's chest. "Not only are you in league with the Abyss, but you spit on the Inheritor's name. For that you will pay!"

After her swing she steals a glance around, noticing that the one tiefling has disappeared, her eyes glowing a soft golden white for a few moments.

Fighting normally, AC 20. Attacking the cav, and she will use her move action to count as 3 rounds for detect evil, scanning to see if she can pick up where the invisible tiefling might be from detection, even though she can't see it with her eyes.

Shathira, Action Matrix for Round 1:
Ok, this is going to be a bit complicated since Selindra is the last one in the round to act. Given who is in the room and what she is looking at, I am going to make a list of targets and actions, and depending on how the other's actions play out, hopefully it will give you an idea as to what action Selindra will take, without slowing down the game.

Priorities: Safety of the Librarians, Eliminating Cavalier, Eliminating Tieflings.

Assuming that Fomiel and Drakra are not going to engage in melee, Selindra is going to make the assumption that Godwin and Vardan are going to close to melee on seperate targets, and as such she will close on whichever target is remaining. However, if one of the enemies closes in and tries to harm the librarians, they will take higher priority. Seeing as how right now eliminating the threat is more important that being defensive as they have smaller numbers, she will fight at full BAB.

Radiance Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 81d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Horribly missing whoever she swings at, but that is her action for the first round, and with chainmail, she is now AC 20.

Selindra growls for a moment under her breath, before slowly and cooly drawing Radiance from her scabbard. She pulls the blade up, kissing its golden blade gently, before looking at the enemy cavalier and pointing the blade directly at him for a brief moment. "Whoever dies here today, you will certainly be among them."

Her eyes are cold fury as she moves into action.

Quite true.

I was just trying to determine if there was anything that I could add to my character that we needed, but she really isn't a skill oriented character, so the trapfinding stuff doesn't really make sense.

I will probably end up dipping into ranger a couple of levels and taking the Demonslayer archtype.

Selindra nods, seeing the door and hearing the strike. Her eyes start to rage, her hand reaching to the hilt of her newly aquired blade. She looks around at the door to the Library, quickly checking to see if there are any other entrances.

Assuming there is only one door...

Selindra nods to Godwin and Vardan and the others. She moves off to the side, once again gently setting Anevia down, so that she can be ready for battle. She looks to Horgus. "Sir, please, stay here with Anevia and Vash."

She then turns looking to the others. "It is possible they have prisoners, given what we just heard. I'll go in first, try and grab their attention. That should give Godwin and Vardan the chance to move in and get positioned. Fomiel and Drakra, while we deal with whatever cultists might be in there, do your best to get to the prisoners and help them get out. Are we agreed?"

Selindra looks to the others, waiting for their response, then turns to Aravashnial. "Vash, it didn't occur to me just now, but I assume you were the one that cause that wind creature to appear when we were underground. Perhaps is there anything you could do to help fortify us against what we are going to face?"

Selindra nods to the others, working quickly with Godwin's help to change into the more effective and better made armor. She seems rather unconcerned with her modesty, as she is more concerned with having the best protection possible.

Once the quills are removed, and armor changed and the extra armor stowed, she nods to the others. "Ready when you all are. Let's move out."

Selindra takes the point, slipping into her new armor with ease, it seeming to conform to her body much more so than the metal scales and plates of her scale armor she had been wearing.

OOC Notes: Taking 20 twice on heal being a 1 round action puts it at 2 minutes each, removing scale mail takes 1 minute, donning Chainmail with help is 2 minutes.

Drakra can use the wand of CLW and has some healing. I like sticking with one class, but can easily take 1 or 2 levels in Rogue to get trap finding and other abilities. I would stick with straight Ranger if you are only taking a few levels.

I hear what you are saying.

Basically what I'm trying to decide is if I try to add trap disabling functionality to my character or not at this point. After looking through everything, I'm basically down to Urban Ranger, and Demon Slayer. If I am going to take just stock ranger, there is no reason not to take Demon SLayer, as it gives me a strictly better FE ability, and the forces me to take the choice I was going to take anyway, and gives me bonuses to saves on top of the FE bonuses.

Now that Vardan brings it up, trapping is very skill intensive, and I think even if I take skill points for favored class, and human, with my 2 per level, that only makes 4 skill points a level for paladin, and one is committed every level to diplomacy and possibly one to intimidate.

At this point, i'll probably lean towards Demon Slayer, and perhaps taking Oath against Fiends later on. Be a pure crusader against evil and demons.

Thanks everyone for listening, and letting me bounce ideas.

You know Varden, I had taken a look at that, and may end up going that way, but I have till like level 10 or so to think about that. (oathbound vs Fiends)

But I don't know that we should focus on that. A few wands of CLW are the best way of healing after all.

That seems fair. Was doing a bit of thinking over the last couple of days. I really feel like Warrior of the Holy light is not worth the price given the fact that the major benefits right now so heavily overlap with Drakra's abilities. Since the archetype hasn't adjusted anything on my character yet, i'm thinking I'm just going to abandon it for stock paladin.

In order to achieve 2 weapon fighting, I would need a minimum 2 levels of ranger. I've been perusing some of the archetypes of Ranger, just to get a sense of options.

First thing that jumps out at me was we have no one in the party that is capable of handling traps of any kind. At least that I saw, no one has DD, or trap finding. And I believe there are 2 possible archetypes that allow for rangers to acquire both. (being trapper and urban ranger)

If I just want to push resilience against the demons, Demonslayer gives me half my bonus on saves against demon spells, SLAs and other abilities.

I'm just trying to decide if I go with base classes, or if there is anything the group thinks might be useful that I can add on without having to hamper the reasons that I am taking the dip. (In this case, FE bonus and fighting style.)

Selindra nods, going to help Godwin with removing the quill once the one in her own arm is removed.

Another take 20, unless anything should happen? Then shifting armor. End result in armor change is that she is standing 20 ac, and 22 when fighting defensive before any other buffs.

Ok, after thinking it over, I think the Ranger dip is going to probably work better than the Fighter one.

Couple questions for you guys:

1) I assume sometime soon we are going to hit 3rd level. In my original plan, I was going to take 3rd level paladin, and have Greater Mercy be my feat, so my LoH had 2 dice each. Do you guys think you have enough healing sources that I can delay this a bit, and instead go with Ranger earlier?

2) After doing a bit of perusing, are there any holes in the groups capabilities that may need to be accounted for? I know Godwin is our sole source of healing for the moment. Do we have anyone that is decent at tracking, or dealing with traps/devices? If I am going to dip into Ranger for a couple of levels, is there anything that maybe I could pull from an archetype that would help the group out?

Selindra shakes her head, still trying to shrug off the effects of the howler's scream. She then takes a couple of minutes, eyeing the quill and working her fingers around it and to the right place so that she can pull it out.

Take 20 on heal, -1 from howler damage, -2 from quill makes it 22, which is enough to dislodge it.

She then looks around and goes for cover, looking at Godwin. "Brother, I think we had some mail, armor we took from those cultists. I think it might suit better for defense than what I am wearing. Think you could help me change into some?"

The reason for bumping dex was to get it to 16 in prep for the big prize, which was the mith plate. I fully intended to get that for her as her first really big personal purchase.

The ranger idea is very interesting. I had never considered being a ranger, but perhaps an urban ranger or something like that would fit her. The medium armor thing is a bit of a pain, as I really was thinking of moving her to heavy armor, but with chainmail and other things being medium, perhaps I can work around that for now.

So Ranger 1 gives evil outsiders, track and wild empathy. Ranger 2 gives 2 wep fighting.

That would push shield slam back to 7, just because I don't get a fighter bonus feat on 6, which I suppose is workable.

Godwin, I'm not trying to min/max here. My intent was that I had an idea in my mind of what a prototypical Iomedan paladin would look like. A holy warrior, scarred and armed and armored, first in last out. Shield and sword, the center of the battle line and leading from the front.

I know that it doesn't seem all that great, but I do intend to push a good portion of the feat line. The only ones I can't access by virtue of class requirements will be the Specialization ones, which require fighter, and only increase your AC when an enemy confirms a crit on you.

But basically, 2WF, Shield Slam, Bashing Finish, Shield master don't require fighter, and will just take me some levels to aquire. But that gives me some freedom to insert a few other feats here and there.

Also, There is a feat I intend to take for Dual Enhancement, which lets me use a divine bond for a paladin on 2 weapons if I am holding them both, so I could enhance a shield spike on a shield, and also Radiance, both of them getting the enhancement bonus increase, as well as being able to add effects to both of them. Between that, FE, Bardic buffs, and other things, I think the 2WF line is going to be quite worth it, not to mention i'll have full AC while doing all of this.

I've even considered at some point taking a single level of monk to get Crane style, lowering my penalties to fight defensive and increasing the bonus to AC. But it sounds a bit cheesy and i'm not sure if I can fit it thematically into my character, though perhaps thru meditation I might be able to.

Again, I really want the theme and the image more than the minutae, but I'm just trying to think things out, and also give you guys an idea of how she will operate so that the team can get on board and know her limitations and capabilities.

Have a couple questions I want to throw out to everyone.

I as a general rule do not play melee characters. I avoid them like the plague. I'm a caster at heart, and I like playing casters. As such, Selindra for me is my attempt to stretch my play style and expand my ability at playing pathfinder.

When our group originally formed, I was planning on her being more of a "medical knight", using hospitaler and warrior of the holy light for a ton of channels and LoH uses so that she could be a medic, in addition to her fighting skills. When we picked up our cleric, for a brief time, I was having doubts about that and have been considering changing her to be more of a vanguard/first in last out girl.

If you guys don't mind, i'm going to throw some ideas up here, and I would like your opinion, just more as a sounding board than anything else. I'm trying to envision her a few levels down the road, and her next couple of three levels are going to be very formative.

Going with the idea that I planned on her being more of a vanguard knight than a healer, Shathira and I talked, and I changed her Antagonize feat out with Improved shield bash. When she hits level 3, I originally had in mind to take Greater Mercy, to give her an extra die on her LoH uses. Part of that was due to the fact that her Warrior of the holy light archetype prevents her from having spells, and also blocks her from using items like wands.

I also know that a "tank" type of character that has no ability to threaten the enemy and has a high AC simply gets ignored. So with that in mind, I had the idea that I was going to use the Sword/Shield 2 weapon fighting setup.

What that would mean is that at level 4, I increase my dex by 1 to 15, and take a level of Fighter, giving me a combat feat for 2 weapon fighting. And also possibly again at 6, giving me access to shield slam. It does slow my Paladin growth a bit, but I think the big room fight proved to me if anything that Selindra's place really is in the thick of the battle as the pivot point for the rest of the group, and I want her to be as effective as possible there.

So with that in mind, her progression to me would feel something like this:

3rd: Paladin - Saving Shield/Shield Focus/Greater Mercy/Toughness
4th: Fighter - 2 Weapon Fighting
5th: Paladin - Saving Shield/Shield Focus/Greater Mercy/Toughness
6th: Fighter - Shield Slam

If I can get my hands on a light shield, with maybe a cold iron spike on it, what this would do is with Shield Focus on 3rd level, I would maintain 19 ac, have 2 attacks, Radiance having +5 and the shield having +4 (+4 Bab, +2 Str, -2 TwoWep, +1 on Radiance for either MW or Magical). Fighting Defensive, I could do 21 ac, and do 1 shot at +3, or two shots at +1 and 0 bonus.

By 6th level, that then gives me the ability to not only attack with the shield in the off hand, but if it hits, the attack roll also counts as a bull rush against CMD. That also give me a viable way to maybe corral more annoying monsters by using the shield as a primary attack for the round instead of the sword. Also at 6th I gain an iterative with Radiance, giving me even more capacity.

I've also thought about maybe taking power attack and other such things, something to give me a bit more power behind her attacks, but honestly right now, I'm already out of my element just working with what I have been doing.

Any suggestions? Ideas I might not have considered? Options I may not have looked at you think might be cool?

Radiance Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Selindra reels from the creatures demonic scream, and also the wave of sickness she feels as the quill sticks out from her arm. She takes a much more defensive posture, and it causes her to completely fail in her assault.

Fight defensive, swing and a miss.

EDIT: Since Godwin goes before Selindra, will use War Blessing to add +1 to AC, making her AC 22 for the time being.

Selindra eyes the creature, and as she sees it she immediately sets Anevia to the ground. "Stay here."

She reaches down to her hip, and slowly draws Radiance out of the scabbard, its glowing golden blade glinting off her armor. "Blade, be true this day," she offers as a prayer as she closes on the creature.

She looks at the others. "Godwin, left! Vardan, right!" She points with her blade as she closes to the creature and attempts to deal it a blow.

Radiance attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 151d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Fighting normally for now, with the intent to try and look more threatening and hopefully draw the creatures attention onto her. If this sucker is what I think it is, then this action will be contingent on what it does.

EDIT:

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Selindra sighs at Horgus's protest, but nods her thanks to him, glad to have everyone on their way. She hoists up Anevia on her back, and starts to head out with the group.

She looks back for a moment, a curious look on her face. "You speak very fondly of Irabeth. And you say she is your..., wife?" She speaks the word as if genuinely puzzled. "How..., did you two..., well, how did you..." the normally confident and sure warrior starts to blush, not sure if she can get her question out. She finally rushes it out, "...how did you to meet?"

Selindra nods, hearing them out one at a time.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23

After hearing all they have to say, she simply nods. "I swear it, on my heart and life's blood that we will get everyone to safety. Please friends, this is not a time to fighting. There are plenty of cultists and demons to fight with."

She takes a deep breath, looking to her companions then back to their charges. "I have a plan. It most likely is very risky, but right now we have no good choices. Vash's allies, the Riftwardens. If they are as skilled as he is with magic and knowledge, we should secure their safety first. They might be able to help us move through the city undetected much better than we can do on our own. And if I understand correctly, Anevia's wife, Irabeth, is a warrior of skill. Especially if she carried this blade." She pats the hilt of Radiance at her side. "If she is still alive, we could use all the hands we can get. Then, if I may presume upon your graciousness sir, We can temporarily house everyone at your manse, until we can locate a safer haven. Someplace we can relocate everyone that would be more secure. I know that I ask a great deal from you."

She sighs and looks at them. "I know that much of my plan is ifs and maybes. If anyone has any better thoughts, please speak. My concern is that the longer we wait, anyone that might have survived is that much closer to death. And I do not wish to risk losing any valuable allies that can help all our chances to survive this nightmare."

Selindra looks about at the landscape and turns to her companions and charges. "It is worse than we could have feared. The Kite and the Cathedral are nothing but foundations, and most of the city is ruined and still burning. Not to mention the chasms that have been opened and glow with a sickening red. My friends, the Worldwound is trying to engulf Kenebras." She hopes her description is enough to give Aravashnial, the only one that cannot see the destruction some idea of its scope.

She turns to the four, and looks at them with a very stoic look. "Friends, Where I must now go, I cannot ask you to follow. I came to serve my tour in the Wound, and I fear now it may be the last thing that I do. I am bound by my word and honor to see this battle through. I cannot ask that you follow me into what feels like certain death."

She turns to Horgus, Anevia and Aravashnial. "My word is my bond. We are inside enemy territory now, and behind enemy lines. But I will do all in my power to see you to your safe havens. All I ask is your indulgence, and patience. We have no idea what we are going to find out here. Know that we will get everyone to safety."

She then stops and thinks a moment, coming over to talk with Aravashnial. She draws Radiance and holds it, then speaks to him quietly.

Aravashnial:
"You have shown to have an insight into things that I never could have. I would ask..., this blade is Yaniel's blade, named Radiance. I know it is made of cold iron, and that it is enchanted to appear as gold. Can you possibly tell me any more about this blade?"

Selindra emerges after the hike and climb. She struggles, but as promised, she settles Anevia's weight over her body, and makes the final climb, piercing the surface and looking to the sky. Where the sight of buzzards disturbs her, and the smoke, as her eyes fall to what was once the thriving city of Kenebras, her breath catches, and she instinctively squeezes Anevia gently as she throttles the hilt of Radiance in its scabbard.

Gently, she helps Anevia to the ground, and then stares out at the blasted landscape. Not a native of Kenebras, she gasps at the sight of the once great fortress of the Kite, and the Cathedral laid so low, and her terror deepens even more for a moment when she sees the glowing scars across the ground. She falls to a knee, held up by her shield and armor as she looks across the ruined city. "My Goddess..., what have they done..."

Character Flashback/Backstory:

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Goddess mine..., what is this hell...? Save us from this tribulation... Selindra looked across the field in horror, terror starting to grip her. Her vision blurs a moment as she closes her eyes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

She heard a rapping on her shield, something loud enough she shook her head and looked up. She looked into the face of her mentor, Markus.

"Girl, you have the makings of something special. So listen up. When we take tours in the Wound, there will be times when we are behind enemy lines. The Wound is their home. It is their territory. We crusade against them, and invade it when we cross the boundaries. Remember this, as a Paladin and Knight of the Inheritor, our bond and duty is to the safety of our companions. Never forget that. It is better to withhold the killing stroke on an enemy if it means you can preserve the life of a comrade. If you ever have that choice. Your first duty is to protect the innocent and helpless, and then once you see them away, our duty is to purge evil without question or compromise. Girl..., you listening?"

Selindra's mentor rapped his gauntlet on her chest. "Look, I may be an old hand, and am long winded, but there is a reason. This is not a game we are going to play. This is a war that has raged since long before you or I were ever born. Some use it for their own ends, but the battle is fought by people like you and I." He smiles at her, running his mailed hand through her hair. "You are the closest thing to a daughter I have ever had, and I know one day you will do us all proud. Always remember, a strong heart can fight with any weapon. Never forget that."

====================================================================

Selindra shakes her head a moment, clearing her eyes and a look of determination and strength start to take shape in her features. She takes stock of her companions, and their charges, giving them a moment to take in the sight before she speaks.

The scales were an item that each member of the original party got when we arrived in the underground area. If I remember right, there were 5 scales. 2 of resistance, which I believe casted resist energy, 1 align weapon (good only), Disguise (alter self) which I know is in Drakra's possession, and cloudwalking, and I have no clue who has that one.

The original 5, I believe it was Drakra had disguise, I had align weapon, Godwin had cloudwalking, and the two other players that are no longer with us had the resistance scales.

At least that is what I remember.

Selindra sighs as Vardan lays the demon down low. She nods to him, cleaning the blade of Radiance on a cloth. She resheathes the blade and turns to the others.

"Is there any place that we missed before leaving this place? Any place that we have not checked yet? I'd hate to leave behind any more creatures like that for the mongrelmen to have to deal with."

Radiance Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 21d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Selindra tries her best to rally herself, unaccustomed to battling creatures of demonic nature, and its scurrying motion causes her to mis a step, slipping to a knee. It all but foils her attack, and she brings her shield around to bear, in an attempt to defend herself from the creature.

Still defensive..., because dice.

Selindra growls at the creature now realizing what the creature is, and brandishes her blade. She makes another swing, but in trying to hold her more defensive stance, she swings wide of it, and does her best to try and catch herself before it comes about for its next assault.

Fighting Defensive, swing and miss horribly, holding position where she is.

Shathira, can I ask what is was mechanics wise that caused her not to act?

If you are saying that there was no post, I made one back on Thursday, before Godwin even posted his surprise round action.

EDIT: I had assumed that you would mix it in with the other actions, noting that the others had surprise actions.

Probably the stand in for Anevia as she is the only one of our tag alongs that really has much in the way of combat effectiveness.

Radiance attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 191d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Selindra after seeing the foul creature and ducking out of the way mutters to herself. "If it is your will that this blade has fallen to me, then by my acts may it be redeemed."

She once again falls back into a defensive posture, all to familiar for her. In a fluid and clean motion, she pulls Radiance from her scabbard, its glowing golden blade reflecting off the surface of her armor. She takes a moment to size up the creature before taking a wide swing near its middle.

She then glances over her shoulder. "Godwin, flank right. Varden, hammer!"

Standard stuff, fighting defensive, attack. Operating under the assumption from the description of the sword that it is at minimum of masterwork quality, so am adding +1 to attack. If there are any other bonuses or effects I should know about, please let me know.

Selindra breathes easier as they make their way through. "Looks like they dispersed when we took out the main group of them. And it looks like we are making our way out of their warrens."

Selindra moves to the head of the group, though she does offer to shoulder Anevia if she is having trouble getting around.

I'm ready. right now doesn't seem like time to talk. just wanted some rest to refresh abilities, knowing we were going to be depleted. And had no idea what was up ahead.

Selindra spends the evening after their talk in prayer, especially when holding the golden blade. When done, she would turn in early, get some sleep and then wake "early", cleaning her armor once more and checking her blade and shield before donning her armor and preparing to move once again.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Selindra sighs, rubbing the sides of her head as she felt a headache coming on. Inheritor's grace, please preserve me. She looked at the others, first a disapproving glace to Fomiel and then looking at Anevia and Horgus.

"Peace everyone, please. While past deeds need to be consulted for knowledge and wisdom, let us withhold judgement for now. It is clear from Aravashnial's look, at least to me, that he holds remorse for whatever transpired between Horgus and himself. And given the nature of these cultists, Anevia, I greatly doubt they would have told a respectable businessman the truth about which sword they wished to purchase. There is a much greater hand at work here, and that was clear when the archdemon laid waste to the city. Our primary concern at this point, as I see it, is to get to the surface and determine the scope of the devastation. And also to see if any are still alive. If the Kite has fallen, and the wardstone has failed, we will have much more desperate problems on our hands."

She looks to the others, and nods to them slowly. "I do not wish to keep us longer than needed, so when you are all ready, lets make our way back."

She then turns to Anevia, her face taking a softer turn as she lowers her voice. "If you are having trouble managing your leg, I can carry you to save some strain to your body."
