"Hey you, over here!" Sejon yells, trying to distract the bear. feint: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Then he desperately swings his sword at the bear.
Strike: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 7 + 1 + 1 = 27
damage: 1d8 + 4 + 1 + 1d5 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 1 + (5) = 11

Strike: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 1 - 5 ⇒ (14) + 7 + 1 + 1 - 5 = 18

I wondered about that. The text specifies if the target is 'one of your allies' they gain +2 AC. I know in many cases PF1 works on the 'you are your own ally' principle but I wasn't sure if that applied here.

Laying crumpled on the ground Sejon begins to stir with a groan. "A bear? Sure it's not a linnorm?" He stands up unsteadily and shakes his head. "I'm not sure the bear and I understand each other fully. I'm going to go have a word." Sejon's hand begins to glow with flickering green light and he touches his shoulder where it was rent by the bear. "Come here furball."

Yeah, no champion reactions on myself. Sejon will go for maximum blocking.

I should note that Sejon will use his Champion Reaction if anybody other than he gets hit. I assume the free step granted by that reaction is negated by difficult terrain.

Sejon reals from the impact of the bear's charge and then collects himself and strikes.

But he's too disoriented from the impact to make more than a few weak defensive slashes. He keeps his shield in front of him.

Sejon moves forward hoping to make himself a more tempting target than his comrades. stride, raise shield

I assume I'm one of the Rhiannons on the initiative tracker.

I also have a question about reactions.

Sejon raises his shield and inches forward grimly.

Sejon watches the display unfolding before him placidly. "You've the hearts of lions, Traders on the Broken Toad." He opines.

Squinting his eyes against the snow Sejon hurries forward. "The breath of Hei Feng was never so frigid, there must be some other wind-god at work. Still, it would be a shame to come so far north with no tales of a blizzard to take back."

Sejon is outraged by the further trickery but lacks the knowledge to trace the culprit. He grabs a pole and vaults across the river.

Sejon makes a show of inspecting the poles and the river bank along with Mylow.

But he lacks Mylow's attention to detail.

Sejon takes in the brisk air as they hike down the trail. "A little exercise clears the mind. Not that mine is typically cluttered, but I won't forget that vexing business with those fox baiters. Anybody want to bet on what kind of bird we see next? I've got one copper on a hawk."

"Evidence!" Sejon shakes his head. "Dither in your impotence then! We'll be off!"

The next day fueled by his indignation Sejon surges forward. Athletics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

Sejon resumes bending the officials ear. Look here now. my friend approaches with incontrovertible evidence of villainy, and worse, poor sportsmanship! The very sausage as the heart of this debacle!

To the officials Sejon says " Sure, foxes everywhere. But it still maters where and when you see one, eh? Like you find a fox in your hen house you don't shrug and say 'well, those devils are all over.' Maybe one running about on the ice is a bit unfortunate but not overly odd. But it's awfully convenient for some folks to have a fox with, as my friend says, an injury on its leg and a bit of dried meat running about on the ice. The foxes I'm familiar with are poor at making jerky."

"I'm not the sort of fellow you call on to soothe the skittish or sneak-thief bells. When you're needing a racket, I'm your man."
I think the next highest modifiers are Peregrine's stealth score and Rhiannon's untrained Nature check.

Sejon glowers at the toppled remains of the tree. "Thrice cursed test! Insipid errand!" He snarls. He raises his hand aloft and with a crackling noise and an acrid smell a javelin manifests in his hand, which he then hurls at the spot where the egg fell, leaving a scar on the ground.

He then stalks a short way off and the sound of his 3 stringed lute can be heard among the trees. He returns a few minutes later, cheerful and calm.

"We'll I suppose it's time to rest? Unless anyone want's a dice game? No? Suit yourselves."

In the morning he contentedly ambles after Peregrine and Mylow. Stopping only briefly to examine whether the random log or snowdrift might be a Linorm.

Sejon rubs his hands together vigorously and begins to shimmy up the tree.

"Retrieve the egg WITHOUT breaking it? A little tame for my tastes. Still I've been known to shimmy my way out of trouble a time or two."

Sejon has athletics at +7, but I think he's the only one with a good athletics score. If we're going to try to go with aiding it looks like we'd do best to have someone aiding Mycroft though I don't know what modifier makes aiding worth the potential downside of a critical failure. I assume at +5 its worth it.

"Still it might be a task better suited to deft hands."

Sejon thanks Faergim for her assistance with great and sincere formality. "I shall not forget it!" he insists. Then as the race begins he shouts "It's on! Set forth Waders of the Ulfen Road!"

Sejon will go see how one of the other teams is preparing.

Approaching the team he gives out a low whistle and says "That's a might fine ehh.. What is that thing?" As he gestures to some random equipment.

Sejon is a little taken aback. "Well, I've not thought about that. You probably don't want to ask me, I've not got the talent for naming. Something about paths and finding? Road locators? Trail indexers? Bah..."

He shakes his head.

"What says the bard?"

"So how do you feel about the new competition this year? I mean obviously we're an impressive bunch but what do you think about the Varki joining the race?"

Sejon continues to engage his group in conversation.

"So where do you hail from? Is this your first crack at the great race? How do you rate your chances?"

I'll make these rolls in case they're called for. Not certain if they are appropriate or not.

Sejon strolls up to the cart and addresses the first person from either group to catch his eye. "Well met fellow travelers. My name is Sejon, of the Shackles and a few more places besides. I count my self lucky to be among you! Not often has fate smiled so kindly on me as to bring me to so auspicious an occasion! You look a formidable bunch. Who do I have the honor of belaboring with my small talk?"

"I'll say we were just debating amongst ourselves whether it'd be better to take on a linnorm should one cross our path. I was for leaving the poor thing be but I fear my friends are a fierce lot."

"Linnorms eh? I'd be excited to see one! Going to take a pass on slaying one though, I get cold too easily as it is. I certainly hope we won't need any snowshoes or the like, I feel I'm liable in impale myself tromping around with bits of wood strapped to my feet."

I don't see any purchasable snowshoes or skis on AoN so hopefully they're not relevant.

"A race!"" Sejon claps his hands together. "A race in the frigid north, land of the linnorms! This Pathfinder business is already paying off! We'll not let you down, or at the very least we'll do so in spectacular fashion!"

He listens to Mylow and Jaeli and shrugs. "I couldn't plan a picnic much less a race in these conditions. If you suggest we need this or that bit of kit I'm all for it."

I so no reason not to spend 5sp on a climbing kit. I'll also grab a grappling hook and take 6sp off my sheet.

When the conversation is over Sejon makes for the door whistling tunelessly.

"I can't imagine a better way to prepare than to keep your mind sharp with a few games of chance, but suit yourselves. I'm not one to retire early, the storm blows until it's spent."

Sejon picks up his strange three-stringed lute and plucks out a tune. It's not clear if the instrument is in tune... Perform: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16, but he never the less manages to play a haunting tune fairly competently.

Sejon nods as Gibble stands. "Wisely played my friend!"

Watching Mylow roll Sejon lets out a massive snort of indignation.

"Why must favor forever smile elsewhere!"

He shakes his head.

"Very well that's 1 rooster to Mylow, being first to 21. Anyone for another round? How about someone else starts us off?"

Sejon slides the dice over to Peregrine.

"Our friend here shut you out with his 21. Care for a chance to return the favor?"

"Capital!" Sejon slaps his dice down on the table with a little too much enthusiasm, imperiling any drinks that may be on it's surface.

"How about we play 21? It's simple. You want to get 21 points. We go around the table rolling two dice and adding to our totals until you decide close enough, and then you stand. You get exactly 21 you win right there, you go over you lose. You hit sixteen or above and you can choose to roll one die instead of two."

"I'll start." Sejon tosses the dice across the table.

To stream line I'll just roll all of Sejon's dice for this hand

"Seventeen! I could stop here, but why stop when you can forge ahead, eh? now I can roll a single die"

"Six!" Rage fills Sejons countenance. "Surely I am the most cursed of all Hei Feng's misbegotten flotsam!

He slaps the table and then laughs. "Haha! So a rooster I shall be! Who's next?"

"Wagers are the height of friendship!"" Sejon exclaims. "But we needn't bet gold. We can bet something more interesting."

Sejon thinks for a moment.

"Tell you what. If you win a hand you win one 'rooster.' Anytime during the mission you can just say 'rooster' and the loosing hands at the table have to crow like a rooster."

Sejon looks around approvingly at the place he's at and all the things that are there. He sits down on something that is probably a chair or something. He pulls a pair of dice out of his pocket and rattles them in his hand.

"Anybody care for a game?"

Sejon is a tall, broad shouldered man showing mixed signs of Tian and Chelish ancestry. His black hair is forever uncombed and just the wrong side of stylishly wild. He dresses in the boldest blues and reds he can find. His chain mail is as polished and gleaming as he can make it. He carries an exotic curved sword and a strange looking lute like instrument. His smile is quick and easy but his gray eyes sometimes seem focused in the wrong place and he tends to either avoid eye contact or hold it far too long.

Here is ottotoon's character Sejon. Champion of Hei Feng. I think I'm missing a language but otherwise boring crunch is done, on to juicy fluff.
