Hello everyone. Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to drop from this campaign. I'm not in a good headspace to keep up with such a high posting rate, and it's not fair of me to weigh the rest of the group down like this. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to try this character out, GM. Happy gaming to the rest of you.
Still here. Just... going through another demotivational spell. Sorry I haven't posted.
I'll take a look at the thread tomorrow.
Seishin breaks his self-imposed silence. "I think I'll walk about town for a bit, see what else is around."
Got my 2nd shot today!
"I could provide the necessary healing, yes." Seishin nods. With that, he approaches the unconscious ninja and invokes Tsukiyo's power to heal him.
Seishin can hear Teruko's muttering clearly, but keeps quiet. Her father's quite a chatty fellow, isn't he? When it comes to keeping watch over the ninja, the samsaran tags in for Hana when she needs to get some sleep.
Seishin nods in satisfaction. "Ms. Visage? When you see Aspexia again, would you be so kind as to tell her to not wander off so abruptly? We're all concerned for her safety."
I think I may have ninja'ed the GM. "Which is rather strange, considering none of my past shards were ninjas--as far as I'm aware..."
Seishin does much the same as Yuto.
"...this is Hana." Seishin says as the others arrive. "And this one is known as the Visage." The samsaran looks at the armoured woman. "She fought alongside us when Hana's family came to kill her."
Seishin limps forward and turns his weapon-enhancing spell into one of healing.
A soothing jade glow envelops the Visage before fading away. ...'she's right here'?
Seishin gives Hana a weak smile before limping over to the armoured woman. "I, uh..." He winces as the spell's hold over him continues. "...I owe you an apology. I mistook you for being with them, and I'm sorry." "I would like to heal your injuries, if you would let me."
Seishin limps over to Hana and attempts to lend what aid he can in treating her poison.
Seishin limps to get Hana in healing range and invokes the Gibbous Moon to heal her.
Seishin, staggered by the sheer weight of his armour, limps back towards Hana, intent on keeping her alive now that the others are moving up in his stead.
Seishin looks back at Hana, and seeing how badly wounded she is, invokes the Full Moon's power to heal her.
Then he begins moving to the south, hoping to assist the armoured woman.
Perhaps having realized that the armoured woman does not, in fact, mean to fight them, Seishin's eagle diverts towards the spellcasting ninja and starts clawing and pecking!
Feeling a bit embarrassed by said realization, Seishin changes tactics as well, striking at the nearby ninja with his spear.
I mean, tall, imposing lady in solid plate armour--it's an understandable mistake.
Wait, I'm confused--the armoured woman is on OUR side?
As the spell completes, Seishin is surrounded by a burst of pale jade moonlight--and a loud *CAW!* echoes throughout the forest. A glowing eagle with silver plumage & jade-tipped talons flies forth from the moonlight and straight towards the armored woman!
Seishin then turns his attention to the ninja to his right and says another prayer--this one sounding like it's being recited in multiple tongues at once. A burst of jade moonlight engulfs the ninja, and a deluge of... memories? Visions? Hallucinations? Whatever they are, they assault the ninja's mind in a blur!
Sorry for the delay in posting. Gorram heat's been beating me down. Lemme see what I can do...
Seishin's eyes flash and he says a prayer. "Tsukiyo! Lend us a servant in this hour, that we may turn back those who crawl in the darkness!"
Seishin looks back the way he came.
Seishin sighs in resignation and turns back to rejoin the caravan. "Something's wrong with Aspexia." He says once he gets back. "I don't think she's in her right mind--and she's run off. Can someone help me track her before something bad happens to her?"
Aspexia: Seishin sighs and moves to grab Aspexia's shoulder.
"Then help me to understand. What's so important that you must leave the caravan behind?" Am I even speaking to Aspexia right now? Or someone else in her skin?
Aspexia: Seishin scrutinizes her, searching for signs of enchantment or something else to tell him what's wrong with her.
I don't think she'll be able to kill you... Yeah, that'll be her new 'friend's' job.
Aspexia: "...you do realize that's only going to compel me to keep following you, yes?" The samsaran keeps following Aspexia. "I'm trying to help you--and it's clear that you're not acting yourself."
A spell comes to Seishin's mind as he tries to reason with her.
Well, I may have to roll up a new character if this goes poorly. :)
Aspexia: Seishin sighs and moves to follow her.
This isn't good... but at least my trail will be much easier to follow than hers. "Prince of the Moon, watch over your humble servant..." He prays as he goes.
Aspexia's change in demeanour is definitely cause for alarm. "Aspexia? Wait! Where are you going?!" He calls out.
The samsaran tilts his head at Aspexia. Something... something is definitely familiar. Seems like Tenzin... or at least one of his patients. "Ms. Aspexia, you look uncomfortable. And I feel that its source is something worse than mere cowardice." He shakes his head. "I cannot help you if you cannot be honest with me."
Seishin approaches Aspexia. "Is everything alright?" He asks, his tone inquisitive and empathetic.
Having been quiet this whole time, the idea that this new caravan may mean them harm isn't a new one to Seishin. He's quite happy to lend his perspective to Shalelu when it comes to keeping an eye on the newcomers.
"That does strike me as the most practical option at the moment." Seishin nods in agreement.
Seishin doesn't have much to add as the caravan moves north, instead quietly observing and taking in the wilderness.
Teruko:
Seishin makes no objection to Teruko touching him.
"It is... difficult to express to someone who has not experienced it for themselves." The samsaran admits. "But for the most part, it always passes." "So long as I remember my heart still beats, and others still care for me, the shards do not linger overlong." Seishin taps his spear against the dirt path. "I've no interest in being caught up in another goblin ambush." He says with a little chuckle and glance in Shalelu's direction. "Once was quite enough."

Teruko:
Seishin considers Teruko's question carefully.
"...there are times when my shards' pain can overwhelm, yes." His eyes turn pensive and distant. "It would be folly to say that they lived carefree lives. Reliving times when Mizuki took a bad fall or Odsar took a grievous wound is... unpleasant, to put it lightly." "But I can look upon my arm in the present and see that it is not broken--or upon my chest and see that it is unmarred." "The hardest memories... the hardest ones to live with are those of despair." As if in response, a shard starts to swirl up from inside Seishin's mind--only to be forcefully pushed back. Feeling much better today, Seishin steps alongside Shalelu and starts to ask her questions about her scouting--what to look for in the wild, how to orient oneself, how to avoid common terrain hazards.
"So long as even a single torch is lit, the dark need not be feared. So long as the Moon rises, the dark need not be feared. Why do you ask?" He tilts his head at the young samurai."Fear not the dark, my friend..." "'...fear what lurks within it?' Did Lao Shu Po tell you that one?"
Seishin looks over at Yuto and takes a seat nearby. "For such people, I find that it's not quite the dark they're afraid of, but the unknown. "Hmm." Part of Seishin wants to question just how, exactly, Amaya knew that, but considering she doesn't appear to be in a mood to explain, the samsaran opts to let the matter drop. If this Aesial means us harm, then we'll deal with that as it comes.
Seishin glances briefly in admonishment at Hana. "Really, it'd be as gauche as asking me if I know another child of the Wheel..." He mutters under his breath. But Amaya's silence has not gone unnoticed by the priest. He gives her a questioning look. "Is something amiss?"
Something about Aesial's compassion rubs Seishin the wrong way, but he seemed to be a decent enough sort otherwise.
Seishin waits until Shalelu returns from scouting before approaching her. "I realize I never properly thanked you for rescuing me from those goblins before. Without your assistance, this life of mine would have been cut short. Thank you for ensuring otherwise." He says, bowing to her.
Seishin winces as Teruko tends to his illness, but nods his appreciation all the same. "...how's Shalelu doing?" He asks as he gets to his feet.
Some of the stiffness has abated in Seishin's limbs, but his legs still make a mighty protest when he rises in the morning. "Uh... does anyone have a brew or something to help me with my fever?"
Seishin sits down next to Shalelu and groans as his aching joints scream at him relentlessly. He watches Hana's performance with an appreciative eye, but... something about it seems very familiar to him. He nods his head in time to the ninja's tunes.
