So I posted a month and a half ago about my availability wearing thin and that time is upon us. It was great gaming with you guys and maybe I'll see some of you in PbPs in the future. Scaramanga makes a few silent motions and ghostly hands approach the picnic, they then start moving the meat around and testing the parameters of the area, to see if its a trap.

Hey guys. I'm starting to wear myself thin on PbPs and I'm going to be dropping a couple of games, this one included. I have no complaints and I really like you guys, but I really need to consolidate my PbP habits into maybe 2-3 games (as opposed to the 4, and soon 5 that I'll be in with some friends).

This is NOT to say I'm leaving cold turkey, and I'll play until we get to a good checkpoint where my character can part ways with you guys amicably (or die horribly, whichever comes first)and be least disruptive to the story.

With low light vision and high stealth, Scaramanga will take distant point and stand maybe 30' in front of the rest of the party. He has low light vision. I'll make the relevant rolls now.

Burning Hands through revolver: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24

Burning Hands Damage: 5d4 + 6d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 2, 2, 4) + (6, 2, 4, 3, 5, 3) = 35

DC 19 (18 base, + 1 from revolver) to halve the 10 damage from the 5d4. So the final result will be either 30 or 35.

Scaramanga snaps out of his delusions for a quick moment, seeing the two fins rushing toward them. "Oh my..." he manages to let out. In a moment of clarity he says a quick enchantment, snaps his fingers toward the two and a small spark races from his fingers, gaining speed and size until it ends in a fiery explosion between the two.

Scaramanga casts fireball on F3, 20ft radius should hit both creatures.

Spell Resistance(if needed): 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 11 + 2 = 22
Fireball Damage 1: 10d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 4, 4, 4, 6, 6, 5, 5, 5) = 46
Fireball Damage 2: 10d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 4, 4, 5, 6, 4, 3, 4, 6) = 43

Scaramanga breaks free of Bragi's grapple, spinning and turning his gun on the dwarf. He then quickly points it again at the investigator, the back at Bragi. "I'll not rot in some Chelish tower!" he screams, still switching between the two. "Let me have my peace. I'm retired damn it!"

"Not from Alkenstar are ya?" Scaramanga asks Twylla, looking over the edge. "Most like to use magic and horses to move around outside of the wastes. Here we make do with what the gods have given us."

He fingers his mask calmly as it lays lazily strapped to his neck. "Have we been introduced? I am Scaramanga. You looked good back there against the guardian. Both of you." his eyes shift toward Finnian as he speaks, his face friendly.

Scaramanga finds and shakes down the merchant he was questioning earlier, taking the books he had for sale. Turning to the others he says quite regally.

"I don't know who you gents or ladies are, but I'd chance it you have some skill considering how you took that big nasty down. If you are in need of lodge for the night I open my father's estate to you."

Buys the Mysteries of Shadow spellbook without the ritual for 11,820gp. I'll update the page.

Scaramanga watches with curiosity as warriors descend on the construct. "Only adamantine will fully penetrate her shell," he calls out, though no one can see him, "Be wary of that! She also has a pencaht for exploding!" He draws his revolver, takes a few steps back and fires two shots into the back of the construct

Move back five feet to be 20ft away from it and fire into its back.

Scaramanga's concentration is broken as he hears the boy crash into the wall, the sickening muffled sound of bones breaking jarring him to attention. He takes a careful look at the construct and wanders have I seen this before?. He then kisses the ring on his finger and disappears, literally, into the crowd in front of him.


Can't remember if knowledge checks are a swift or move action, but I make one. Also spend a standard to activate ring of invisibility. If I still have a move left, Scaramanga moves to within 15' of the construct.
With the knowledge check I'm looking to see if Scaramanga recognizes this construct and if he knows how to shut it off.

Knowledge(Engineering): 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (17) + 16 = 33

Little did Twylla know, in the stall next to her seat two men were arguing over a set of books bound together. One man was the merchant, a dwarf insisting that the books he held were none other than the Mysteries of Shadows, a three volume set found in the trunk of an abandoned caravan cart. The other, whose large brown eyes appeared elven but whose ears were that of any other man, was Scaramanga Root.

"Forgive my ignorance sirrah," he says to the merchant, almost mockingly "but I can't believe you sit on one of the rarest collection of books in the world. Especially that you sit on it in this damned wasteland, no less." some of his words were in dwarven, others in kellish accented common.

"Ah whaddaya know ya damned rascal! Every wizard I've shown this to has told me the same thing, lad." The dwarf retorted.

"If they were wizards, and I'm not saying they were, I would be curious as to why they didn't tell you that you were full of it!"

The argument continued on with pointed fingers and raised voices, sometimes friendly laughter.
