Male Half-Orc Paladin 1

Samson swung hard at the practice dummy, sweat dripping off his brow, as the weighted dummy made it's counter-attack he swiftly rolled under the dummy's half-hearted attempt.

He had been training for days at this point, trying to make a few friends along the way, particularly with Gwrrrr, despite his lack of civility Samson felt a sort of kinship to the fellow Orc relative.
"Haha.. there's a good chance you're my uncle.." he said nervously, he hoped his attempt at humor was not lost on the Orc, he rarely had the opportunity to learn of his other race's culture.

Samson nearly collapsed as he came to a stop, he spent a few moments catching his breath. He had enjoyed the opportunity to work out at an extended pace, but that was something that would take a while to get used to.

He grabbed his allotment of food, mostly meats, and began quietly devouring his food.

Samson *sighed* and spoke back to Melashara "I only defended myself, the oaf you should be referring to is the one who attacked a fully armed Half-Orc, besides you look like you could use the exercise you seem a bit pale.."

Keeping his pace Samson continued to run laps at an accelerated rate.

Ashamed that he had so grievously injured the other warrior, Samson said nothing as Big Blue made a fool of him. He had been too wrapped up in the excitement of everything to even follow a simple directive.

The Gray Half-Orc nearly turned red from embarrassment.
"My apologies Severus, I allowed my combat senses to get the better of me, after your first blow I sort of lost my head.." as Samson tried to explain sheepishly, he removed his gear, and dropped his sword where he stood and began running with great intensity.

Samson caught the club from the other Half-Orc he had seen in the fray, and laid it out next to the rest of his equipment.
He intended to punish himself for his actions by running at his fastest pace, to keep ahead of the others.

Ok, I think that's enough for the training fights for now. I think I learned what a I needed to about how to keep things on track, and what to point out to people.

I think everyone who needed to has been able to practice the format I'm looking for. Does anyone feel like they still don't get it?

There are a few of you who seem to have a little trouble with reading comprehension. I'm not pointing anyone out and I'm not trying to be mean. I'm just going to shotgun blast this at everyone-

There will be about 15 of you, running around and swinging at each other. I can juggle this but I need your help, and I need you to pay careful attention to how I set the scene and to everyone else's actions.

Every match will have a different set of perameters and rules. This time the rules were "no weapons, no armor". It will never be that simple again. Failure to comply with the rules will likely result in disqualification of your character.

Does anyone have any questions or suggestions before we get started?

This would be me mostly you are referring to. For that I apologize, as I never did remove my gear in character, and the fight started very suddenly. I will try harder! I will read better!

I take my lumps though.

Male Half-Orc Paladin 1

No problem I misinterpreted your prior post regarding AoO
edit: Also, I would have gladly evened the odds of the battle before hand, but he charged me before I had a chance to change gear.

Samson winced from the pain that Severus dealt him, he felt a bone break underneath his breastplate. In reaction he swung back at Severus deftly as the scruffy human ran to meet him in combat hoping to teach him a lesson.

Stats:

After abandoning his attempt at divine magic Samson approached Big Blue. All though he was imposing himself as a Half-Orc, he knew better than to raise the ire of an Ogre.

"Mr. Blue was it? I'd like to get my toes wet, if it's not too much trouble I think a practice battle is in order." Samson spoke deliberately trying to sound reasonably intelligent.

My character's life experiences tell him a Drow is to not be trusted, even if this is not the truth, haha. I don't look at other player's character sheets, just judge by roleplaying.

I have to ask Chess, your avatar looks extraordinarily female, is this intentional are you androgynous? Or is that just the most approximate avatar they had?

I guess I'll just leave my post since I don't know technically what level everyone is IC.

Male Half-Orc Paladin 1

Haha me too, disregard it then, I guess I can just modify my post.

As Samson saw the other gladiators begin their fight, he thought he might try to figure out who he can trust. Samson proceeded to shuffle around the Drow 'Chess' "That one's a no brainer." he thought to himself.

Samson then stared to the large group of gladiators and entered a trance-like state. He was holding out a small rock with a strange symbol carved on it and began mumbling to himself in his native language when suddenly his eyes glazed over.

Actions:

Move Action= From 12F to 11E
Free Action: Nothing
Swift Action:
Standard Action: Detect Evil towards ZB 30ft Cone
Position: 11E

Samson will continue to Detect Evil for 3 full rounds if uninterrupted.

"I'm here for sport, no need to get my self dirty before a REAL match, these fools give up all of their tricks now, I wish to keep mine."

The Half-Orc Samson revered the Ogre and thought best to not defy him. He then deftly sheathed his sword.

Samson was wearing a single steel breastplate, ornate and trimmed with gold, the rest of his attire was rather ragged, and didn't match much at all. Standing in the arena however, he stood with a sense of purpose, intensity in his eyes. His gray skin was rather dull, and not your typical bright green orc flesh.

Male Half-Orc Paladin 1

"Now this is ENTERTAINMENT!" shouted Samson suddenly coming to, he managed to draw his oddly shapened Longsword and Steel Shield to prepare for any errant challengers.

Stats:

HP = 12/12
AC = 19
Fort 4 - Reflex 2 - Will 3
Effects - None

Ah, apologies I will post when I return from work in 4 hours, damned part-time job.

Doomed, I'm not sure if you're ready for me to start posting, or if it's even a good time to introduce my character.

Give my character an in, or just tell me when it's cool to introduce myself. I'm ready to play though!

Male Half-Orc Paladin 1

I am not absolutely new to PBP but could use a refresher, I'm down for a training fight.

I see what you mean, back-story wise he is ongoing character concept I like, and I didn't put much thought into his back-story other than what I had already conceptualized for him.

Samson seeks to bring righteousness and valor to the downtrodden, he fights for those that are weaker than him, and would never strike down an unarmed foe.

He has joined the arena in an attempt to bring notice to his cause (liberation of slaves, freedom from tyranny, protecting the weak).
His long term goal would be to fund his own paladin order of misfit do-gooders, the arena might also be a way for him to recruit potential would-be paladins.

I'm not sure if this fits well enough for your game, help me tweak it, tell me what works and what doesn't. I'll get right to work fixing those non bolded totals.

If you'll have me.
I'll have you as soon as you give me a full stat block to look over.

It's done! Let me know if I messed anything up as I tried to import from PCgen which isn't that great.
