Roci saves vs 4, and fails vs 3. At 4d6 each, the easiest method sort this out is simply to roll 14d6 and take that damage.

Vandomir reports, "Owing to the presence of all of that flat land beside the river, I'd say it likely gets flooded in the spring. It being fall there should be no risks of that. The farming village will likely only have 30 ish families. Whereas the town should hold hundreds. Oh, and these temperate grasslands are mostly occupied by settlers from Brevoy." Vandomir still intends to have on his old Sable Company uniform, a bit worn an unkempt. These areas are used to runaways and vagabonds, so an expat Sable Marine should fit right in. Rocinian will similarly have her Sable Company caparison displayed.
The majestic hippogriff blinks a few times before responding, "Ummm, Vandomir. I feel funny. I know we talk every day, but it's not time for that is it? You didn't cast your spell? And today, I have a lot more words in my head." In Sylvan:

The hippogriff preens at the feel of Vandomir's hand on her neck feathers. At his request, she looked over at Alice, and performed a slight curtsey in the newcomer's direction. She then approached slightly and bent her head down, sniffed a bit, and bumped her beak against Alice's hand.
"Honestly, I hadn't put much thought into it. As for the battle, yes, we have done a couple. Terribly stupid things really. We all line up, and run at each other, with big pointy sticks leading the way. It seems to me that the longest sticks usually win, but my job is to just run, and turn, and trample. Although, occasionally I get to smash thing with my hooves. They put these big metal things on my hooves. Uncomfortable usually, and they take getting used to, but they seem to really hurt the enemy when I kick with them."
"Hey dog, ever been in a battle like this before?"
Can't we just get on with this? I'm tired of spending my time in the stables. The chance to run a bit would be nice. What say you dog?

Rocinian nods his head, "heck yes I smell the enemy, this putrid one you have strapped to my back. Can we get rid of it? I'm not a hearse!"
Rocinian shakes his head and slobbers a bit. "Those don't sound good at all!"
"I vote for getting some water and oats, and maybe a rubdown. What about you dog?"
Rocinian preens a little. "See, he does care."
"I'm not usually allowed to come into people places.
"Hey, dog, what's going on in there?"
"I hope I can get rid of this smelly body on my back soon."
"Will that dog never shut up?"

"yes yes, I saw, you were amazing. I have plenty to carry now. Maybe they can put a saddle on you too?"

He tried feeding me that stuff once. Smelled terrible. Tasted worse. You might like it dog. It can't be worse than your butt.
Rocinian throws back his head and shakes it from side to side with a loud whinny. Dogs!?
"Please! I saw you sniffing that other dog's butt back at camp."
Excuse me, weren't you just licking yourself? I hardly think you're to be trusted as to what is weird smelling or not!

Out in the stabling area, Rocinian eats an astounding amount of food, despite his diminutive size. He has learned the same lesson that soldiers have learned on campaign since the dawn of time: "eat and sleep when you can, let everything else work itself out."
I am Sir Jumbal's faithful bonded mount! I don't actually talk, and do not (yet) have an Intelligence of 3, but who knows what the future will bring! |
