Oi! We should be headin' for the farm, don't ye think? We need ta know if it's habitable."

"Ye got both of'em 'ere, in this wiki."

Also, yes, Rob needs to be rebuild, I guess.

The padre is not really dismissing living in a proper building, but rather he's not preoccupied about the conditions, After all, he's been sleeping under the stars for more than he can remember.

"I'll be havin' a look 'round, if ya don't mind."

"Hi mate" Rob salutes, tipping his hat. "God told me we's gunna meet sum'un new, yeah. Nice ta meet ya."

"O, Lord, thank ya for this. I'll be enjoyin' tha bed like nothin' else in this world. In thy infinite powerness and wisdomness, would it be too much tae ask fer a cucumber sammich?"

After saying his prayers, Rob catches a nice sleep, as can be confirmed by the snoring he produces, worth of a whole herd of pigs.

I'm here.

"God bless ya, friend!"

Rob looks alternatively up and to Herman. He seems concerned about the subject.

"God says I shun't, since I'm no ordained, but if ye have proper hurry, me should suffice. Yer confessing after Her, anyway."

"'Course 'e is! Ya see tha'n'is chest? Tha's tha hole 'e got in exchange! Mwahahaha!" Rob seems to find the fact quite hilarious by some unknown reason.

Rob will buy food and water for a week, for him and his horse. I'll calculate the price later on today and substract it.

"Dunno about ya mates, but imma havin' a fine cool beer, granted there's a pub 'round 'ere."

What kind of purchases, more or less, can be made at the Armadillo?

Sorry. How the Hell did I miss your update?

After listening carefully to the man's offer, Rob nods. "Aye, God says that's a fine agreement if ye add the provisions to the lot. Me's be willing to sign if any other also does - not willing to explore on me own out there, mind ye."

He turns his head left and right and see what the others think, as well as keeping an eye on the man's face.

He turns to the Rev, "Why, whatever's in the way on the lines I draw upon the map!"

"Ah, gotcha. Local fauna and the like o' the Waste. God approves, sign me in."

"Uh... travelling through the Waste? Not sure what God thinks 'bout that... Imma ask ye, though, what kinda blood is that ye want to spill?"

"Aye. All o' this fer a good coin, know ye."

Rob witnesses all the magic display without saying a word. Once asked about the drink, he accepts the lemonade without question.

When asked about the task, though, he's quick to answer. "No, sir, we got no freakin' idea. The lady, 'ere, told us nuttin' or if she did me was no payin' no attention, no. Sorry, ma'am" he adds turning to Naomi.

Naomi wrote:
"I brought you the Magnificent 7!"

At the hearing of this, Rob turns his eyes up for a moment and moves his lips very slightly. "God likes that name, she says. Me likes it too."

"Arite, ye folks. If ye finished sizing yer willies, there's a job waiting" says Rob, standing up and putting on his hat. "The Lady is in a hurry."

I know you know I'm here, but still: I'm here.

"Sure as 'ell, son."

Rob goes to the bar, puts some coins on it and asks the bar tender: "Bo'l of the strongest thing you've got 'ere. Quick."

If the bar tender doesn't react, Rob picks the bottle himself and leaves the money on the bar.

He goes back to were Herman is and hands him the bottle. "'Ere, son. God bless ya."

Rob feels it's over, so he gets back to his seat and goes on attacking the chicken. "Sumwun was willin' of a good beatin', oh yeah... uh... you... you ain't gonna do that here, ain't ya?" he says as he points to Alsande's thread and needle.

Bang! goes the guy's pistol. Bang! Bang! goes Herman's shotgun. Rob foresees the butchery and goes to fetch Mary Anne - not to use her, but to prevent her from being 'borrowed'.

"Oi! Things escalate rather quickly 'round 'ere!"

Hoping things stay where they are - shot and counter-shot - he takes a long look around the bar.

An irradiated, undead, Mutant Dune Worm!

Well if this ever appears, I expect to ride it!

Rob keeps watching. Nothing special seems to be happening - it doesn't really look like an ambush or something. The man just had a big mouth in the worst moment.

More of his friends are approaching, and this could be dangerous. The poor lad is going to be turned into a sieve, but too many guys together...

Rob picks another piece of chicken and stands up, walking a bit nearer to the door.

"Oi! Nom Chicken's gonna be cold! Nom, nom Cut yer shit and come eat or Imma eat all!"

Rob watches as some of his fellows go out to stop the fight. He just shrugs and takes a long sip of ale while using his other hand to try to reach for a chicken drumstick.

"Chiken's gonna get cold an' we don't want that, right?"

While chewing some chicken, he's actually aware that no one else joins the situation and catches any of his companions by surprise.

You know, the avatar you chose for this GM persona doesn't really make me feel relaxed... all I can think of is I need to walk in non rythmycal patterns...

"what have you done to earn your weapon such names?"

"Oi! Mary Anne's name be not earned, twas told ta me by God!"

Robs looks a bit surprised. "Real? Watcha mean? This is the only Mary Ann I know. She was introduced ta me by God and I made her."

He puts the rifle aside and sits.

"Maelstrom, uh? Gotta like the name."

"Aye, and what's 'is name?" he goes again, putting his own, custom-made rifle in front of him. "This is Mary Anne."

"Erosion" says Rob, to no one in particular.

"What was 'is name again?" he asks, talking to Alsande and pointing to his rifle.

"Aye to the drinks!"

Rob enters the place and removes his hat. Some grains of sand fall to the ground while he presses the hat against his chest and murmurs a prayer.
The sound of his boots stepping through the drinking hall is accompanied by the tingling of the spurs. He gets to the bar and asks for something to eat and drink.

"Bring sumthing tasty for me and me friends, will ya? We got coin and dry throats."

Then he takes a long look around the place and seeks for an empty table.

Checked there and yes, some changes. Not sure, though, how are we going to deal with it - we can't be changing our sheet every time the SoM developers adjust the rules.

"Oi! Dotting fer good!"

WANDERERS OF THE WASTE - HOMEBREW ADVENTURE

Jereru: (Reverend Rob; Human Conscript) (Tradition)

Thank you! I will correct the things that need to be corrected by the new SoM things, though it seems I have plenty of time to do it.

I'm eager to see what comes out of that twisted mind of yours!

1) His mind shattered after years of abuse, Rob and his long rifle Marianne roam the place in search for a supposed divine quest given by Desna.
2) Freeland/River Kingdoms.
3) Pioneer (Trait), Arcane Delver (Trait), Improper Protocol (Drawback), Magical Lineage (Trait).

"Watcha gonna do when the DesnaMania runs wild on you?"

Hey Rob, did you decide on which character you wanted to play?

If Iron Gods really takes you to the 'power armour space marine' thing, then I'd probably rather take the other way. I love space marines, but it's just not the way I envision Rob.

Hey, horses are decent combatants until like level 3. I actually once saw a podcast where a horse saved the party from a TPK during an encounter in Kingmaker.

I've got a thing with horses in games, they don't usually last long, and I don't know why.

Usually someone steals my horse, but one of them died of starvation, a pair of them had to be left behind because they couldn't go through where we were walking, one was eaten by undead which we previously had turned, and another was killed by a barbarian's axe when the DM decided I was doing too much damage with Spirited Charge and a lance.

Given the experience, my druids and paladins tend to exchange their animal companions for any other feature avaliable (even when I played D&D I asked the DM for something else).

Not bad, Gobo, thank you. Will seriously think about it.

In the end I picked the Alchemy Sphere, and chose to make healing salves. 1d8/2 levels at no cost for a craft dc of 15 seems quite juicy, and maybe in the future some nice damage dealing flasks. All changes from Gunslinger to Conscript should now be reflected on the sheet.

I guess it's okay if I leave a certain amount of money unspent and wait to see if I get chosen and who else gets chosen. Depending on the group, I could put some money on the table for scrolls or a wand, or purchase some potions or alchemical reagents.

Also, the Pioneer trait gives me a horse. I suppose it's a light horse. Combat horse, maybe? Idk, it's free anyway... and it's going to die on the very first session... :P

After carefully thinking about it, I have decided this is the perfect time to try these Spheres of Might. I am currently changing my Gunslinger level for something that gives SoM talents (torn between Conscript and Blacksmith).

I have thought about this tradition, tell me what you think:

Long Gunner

Equipment Talents: Firearms Proficiency, Expert Reloading.
Spheres: Choose between Alchemy and Sniping.
Extra Talent: Firearm Fiend

If not approved, I'll probably use one of the ones that got approved for other players, if that's ok for you, or the Mechanical Mastery one.

Also, guys that control SoM better than me, is there any talent that helps improving touch AC?

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Gobo Horde wrote:
what would be a better fit for his profession?

Gunsmith? In an era when guns are widespread enough, gunsmith deserves to be a profession on its own. They probably have a guild and the like.

Also, still concerned about touch AC, so I decided to have a look at spells that might help with that. If you happen to know anyone I skipped, please tell me. I haven't delved into 3PP deep enough.

Interesting spells that increase your AC vs Firearms at 1st level:

:Protection from X (though you need to know the alignment beforehand) gives +2 Deflection for 1 min/level (and is super effective vs summoned creatures).
·Shield of Faith gives +2 Deflection for 1 min/level and escalates (slowly).
·Nereid's Grace (though it needs you to wear no armor) gives +Cha Deflection for 1 round/level (max +3 which escalates slowly).
·Stone Shield (though it defends only from one attacker and needs rocks nearby) gives +4 Cover for 1 round and is cast as an Immediate Action.
·Reduce Person (though reduces Str and damage due to size) gives a total +2 to AC (the result of a +2 to Dex and a +1 Size) for 1 min/level.
·Hedging Weapons gives +1 Deflection for 1 min/level and escalates slowly, plus a thrown attack.
·Entropic Shield doesn't give AC but a 20% chance of failure to any ranged attack for 1 min/level.

This is, of course, in addition to any active defense (Grease, etc.) or any other utility (Summon Monster?), and only at 1st level (where PCs are highly vulnerable to someone who can make 2 shots per round vs touch AC and for 1d10 damage each).

Hope it helps.

Victim of Changes:

-Int and Dex exchanged, now more smarty than dodgy.
-Fluff adapted to the new traits.
-Traits picked, including drawback.
-Gear picked (at least the basics, still lots of gold to spend or keep).
-Spells picked (I guess I can always change to CLW if I get selected and we feel there is not much healing).
-Future Plans section updated.

Since, to my believe, the Arcane Delver trait (see above) lets you add a spell from other spell list and treat it as yours (correct me if I am wrong), that is causing me serious doubts...

On one hand, I am tempted to take Shield of Faith (since it gives a Deflection bonus that protects against touch attacks, and neither Mage Armor nor Shield give that).

On the other hand, I am thinking about the combination with Spell Recall and the possibility of spending 1 Arcane Pool to retrieve a Cure Light Wounds.

Also, a Divine Favor would be nice...

What would you guys recommend?

Also, I have a feeling Sunset is talking about this Iron Kingdoms 3.5 OGL class from Privateer Press: Gun Mage./QUOTE]

Actually, those gun mages are what inspired me to make this character. I was wandering if there was a Pathfinder class/archetype called that. Is that 3.5 thing kosher?

Also, to Shadow: those traits loof real nice, do we have to:

-take our traits from that list only?
-that list and either the Iron Gods or Kingmaker?
-one from that list and another from wherever?
-the drawback, if you pick it, must be from that list?
-the talent you get from the drawback must be from that list?

Or any combination.

Edit: it wouldn't let me open the Freedom Charter. I guess it's a variation of the one appearing in Kingmaker, right?

Thing that comes to mind... what will be your approach to AC, both for players and NPCs, given that everybody is carrying around things that let them hit touch AC from 100 yards? Just curious.

Shadow stated before that we could start with a battered advanced firearm, so yes.

On the Gunsmith thing, which strikes me as weird is the fact that some people get to fix and craft firearms like, out of the blue (no ranks in gunsmith and only 1 rank in alchemy) in an age where firearms are super rare and, when they spread out and turn into a common shit, no one gets that talent anymore.

But still, I don't think you really need the feat to do the job, just the proper craft skills (only with the cheat you're cheating proper). I guess, as I said, Craft (Alchemy) and Craft (Gunsmith) would do, just asking in case anyone has any idea or has read anything I haven't.

Not that I want to be a real crafter, but it's more or less in the background of the PC... plus, not a bad idea to have a chance of making your own ammo given the chance.

Wait, 1500? I thought we had 1000 (as per level 2) and +200 to buy guns and ammo...

Speaking of ammo, I can't find the weight of cartridges... Are we even using encumbrance rules? Am I the only idiot around to use them?
Because I even bought a horse to carry things around...

And then again, I asked this in the past, but... Being it so 'Guns Everywhere' rmoves the Gunsmith talent from the gunslinging classes (the one that lets you vraft/repair guns and ammo), how do we repair/craft guns and ammo now? I've taken points in Craft (Alchemy) and Craft (Gunsmith), is that okay? One rank suffices? The masses want to know! :P

Reverend Rob is now a Level 1 Gunslinger / Level 1 Magus (though I have yet to update things as skills, gear, etc). I paranoically chose to grab the fixed amount of HP (5 for a d8). I can now deliver nice Snowballs with my rifle shots, and wait till I take Rime Spell and Intensified Spell.

For all that's holy, stop showing off your 24 games (and that's only as a GM, I wonder how many games you play, not talking about RL). We already know you're the Oracle of Time :P

So, 2nd level, that would make the recounting post quite obsolete, I bet most of us have a plan B for level 2 (I do).
