Across the plaza, a woman saunters confidently through the crowd, leaving people murmuring in her wake. Her immaculate red and gold robes expose a lot of skin--most of her toned arms, legs, and midriff are bare. The hood of her cloak is drawn up over her head, but occasional glimpses of a beautiful face can be seen in the shadows--dark black hair, sparkling amber eyes, and full, sensuous lips. She is tall, slender, and curvy, and even though she is not deliberately trying to draw attention to herself, her passage inevitably causes heads to turn. She glances at the draxie and the iruxi and gives them an enigmatic smile. A learned sprite like Dewdrop certainly recognizes the spitting image of Queen Sorshen of New Thassilon! But this couldn't possibly be the real former runelord. Could it?

My family earned its vast amount of wealth as a colonial super family in Eledar located in the once Chelaxian colony of Sargava. When Aroden fell silent, and the three decades of civil war commenced my family had a decision to make. They could follow Baron Grallus of Sargava and his support for House Davian or side with the diabolist Abrogail I and House Thrune. Lucky for me, my great grandfather Kanye I chose the latter. My ancestors returned in secret to Cheliax having been a dagger in the shadows in Sargava for House Thrune during the war. Since 4640 AR, my family has lived a lavish life in Cheliax; my family was awarded an estate near Egorian for its support and dedication to House Thrune. My name is Kanye, and I am descended from a long line of Hellknights. My great grandfather Kanye I was a member of the Order of the Coil in Sargava and was instrumental in House Thrune’s meteoric ascension. My grandfather Kanye II was my families’ first Hellknight representative in Cheliax proper and served the Order of the Scourge as a paralictor, he hunted down members of the Order of the Crux mercilessly from what I am told. My father Kanye III serves as a Master of Blades in the Order of the Scourge just like his father and has earned the sobriquet Kanye the Beast. My name is Kanye IV and I am currently an arminger in the Order of the Gate. I am a young fool, I was dispatched to my first assignment with the Order and was excited to earn the title of Hellknight. Within a week of arriving in Pezzack, the location of my first duty station, I received a set of surprise orders from Vicarius Giordano Torchia. As he handed me my new orders he had a half smile on his face and told me “I owe her one”. It wasn’t until I read the orders that I fully understood the magnitude of what was happening. The orders read that I am to serve as a very special “assistant” to Paracountess Zarta Dralneen, for the duration of no more than 5 years. In addition to serving her in various positions, the Paracountess called in another favor and convinced Venture-Captain Ambrus to grant me the title of Pathfinder on sight upon my arrival, apparently he owed her one as well. She told me I would further both her, and House Thrune’s agenda as her "special" agent in the organization. My great grandfather would be very disappointed to learn that his progeny is now a lap dog serving the very organization he hated, whose membership he destroyed with passionate zeal in the jungles of Sargava. It is in his honor, I carry a replica of his custom polearm, a specialized weapon of his design. I pray to Asmodeus that it serves me half as well as it did him during the Civil War. When my service to the Paracountess is finally complete I can get back to my Order, and guard the gate against infernal incursions with my brothers. Hopefully the prestige I gain for Cheliax can leave an impression on my Order so I may be granted the title of Hellknight in absentia or on my return. The things I do, and have done for my country...
