Yeah, I say we keep going for now with the intention to Recruit in the future (At a time and place where you feel appropiate for new characters to join us).

Worry not DM, I get RL can be a b~%*@ sometimes.

For example I just started college again and been busy as all hell.

Also I just realised I forgot I already rolled Fort and rolled it again... First result was worse but it was the valid one.

As far as I am concerned, you don't need to be sorry. Let's keep this party up!

Dodging the beast's maw with a shift of his feet to the side, Reinhardt slashes forward to its neck with a quick and clean twist of the wrist before the beast can evade.

Power Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
Damage: 1d6 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13

Without pause, the professor returns to a guarded stance with his shield forward and the tip of his sword aiming to the floor.

In dwarven: "I can contain the drake, focus on the goons!" he yells to Tarja.

As we were on watch duty, I'll assume we have our armor/shields on . If that wouldn't be true, use Reinhardt's unshielded AC which is 22 and damage would go up by 4.

Almost instintively, Reinhardt brings his shield forward trying to block any incoming arrows, but the moment he hears the pilot groan he understands what might be the attacker's goal: stop the boat by targetting the pilot.

"Miss Steelcutter, you take the one on the left and I take the right one! We need to tackle the Draccus Minoris without annoyances or interference!" says the professor as he quickly moves towards the 'man' on his right, his curved blade describing a downwards flourish before cutting upwards in a diagonal manner.

Attack Rolls:

Surprise Round: Partial charge to the man on the right
Power Attack Scimitar: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 10 + 2 = 22
Damage: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Proper Round: Standard Attack, same target
Power Attack Scimitar: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 10 + 2 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

GM, I just realidad there was a trait I didn't ask about (one coming from Sphere's of Power and Found here. Thing is, I took it so I could get Kn. Religión as class skill, but if you are okay with its secondary effect(which is being able to shed light), Reinhardt will use it and mostly joke about the fact that he is literally enlightened

I was actually waiting for the others to chime in, didn't want to hog all the spotlight in a spotlight hogging team with Nox and Hideaki.

That said, I should have been more proactive pushing things forward. Sooo, sorry for that GM, move us onwards!

The professor walks around the deck with a book, looking for a place to sit and read some dwarven poetry until he spots Nox.

Intrigued by her and more importantly the way she seems oblivious to the height, he approaches the kitsune's position calmly.

"An elven scholar once wrote that those that do not fear harm do so either because they are already familiar with it or they wish to receive it. But he probably was angry that his lover left him for a human minstrel, so feel free to ignore his words." he says as he rests his arms on the railing "I think we haven't been presented, my name is Reinhardt, and unless I am wrong you must be part of the group. A pleasure to meet you, miss...?"

As the others and himself board the ship, the professor smiles to Finrik "That is quite a philosofical question, my friend. Who i am? What do I seek? Why am I here? Such a question deserves a proper beverage, red wine nonetheless..."

Reinhardt stops at his door with hand extended to open it "But the short version is: boredom. I'll let you get comfortable, how about we meet later? I'm sure you have seen, read and tasted many an interesting thing since the last time we talked."

The Professor leaves his things at his room, keeping his armor and his sword strapped to his belt "A gentleman must be always able to defend himself." he mutters.

The neatly armored middle aged man nodded as the dwarf, which he figured was the bosun, handed them their papers.
"Much appreciated, master dwarf." he said, slightly bowing as he pronounced the words master dwarf.

Yet Reinhardt didn't immediately embark. The professor had the intention to see the others pass by, possibly even overheard chit chat and small talk, the better to understand those who he would spend the following weeks... but it was his eyes nor his ears the ones who caught his attention.

"Ah, sure 'our fates flow in a ocean of souls where a known face is a welcome visage', as Xeriontes once wrote." he said, a deep voice he had practice to lecture others for years, before returning to his soft and low usual tone as he made his way to the halfling he knew as Finrik. "Master Finrik, joyous be mine eyes! I couldn't have ever hope to find you here of all places, but my unvoiced prayers seem to have been answered."

Reinhardt offered his papers to the First Mate before turning to Finrik and extending his hand with a wide sincere smile "I take your past bussiness isn't as profitable as used to... or perhaps it isn't the pay that brought you to this trip, my friend?"

As I read the updates I was surprised that Finrik hadn't answered Reinhardt after being directly addressed yesterday... and then I noticed my post wasn't there.

This is a mistake I shan't repeat, alas the night has fell and I must rest now, so I'll type up my 'long' post again in the morning.

My most sincere apologies.

Okay, here are possible relations and first gaze opinions for Reinhardt:

Finrik: Reinhardt frowns at the idea of using poison, meaning he using them. He values swordmanship and guile and wouldn't debase his pride using poison in a duel, but he understands that guile and wits take many forms and same as a strong man uses his build or an agile elf uses his speed, he understand those that use their craftiness to achieve victory.

Hideaki: Mirroring what Hideaki said, Reinhardt would greatly enjoy meeting another warrior philosopher, specially one coming from a different culture.
Reinhardt would also like to train with him, as "Training makes the master, not the sword, not the title."

Tarja: Badass melee warrior? Check. Capable of using magic, which Reinhardt always regretted not having used? Check. Different culture with a different style of philosophy he has read and appreciates? Check. Ehem, will you marry me and teach me how to magic?

Nox: He read about the Void, the Darkness and the Lower Planes and came to slightly understand them, or so he thinks. To put it simply, and in Reinhardt words There are few things in the world truly is evil: it is just its nature, and it is not man's place to judge.

Thirrion: Professor Von Brandt is likely to establish a parallel between the greatest scholar's dedication to unravelling the universe and the machinesmith's focus on understanding how it works and how to manipulate it with technology. And he carries a Masterwork pistol because "If you are going to debase yourself and neglect traditional sword to sword combat, you should at least look classy and stylish while at it."

As for possible connections, I can name some plausible ones.
If Finrik has sold in the past any kind of recreational drug, namely one that help oper your senses, Reinhardt is a likely occasional buyer.
With Tarja being after the Crystal's secrets and Reinhardt being a scholar, I can see one of them looking for the other in the past for answers. Perhaps even a bit of friendly dueling to test if the University's or Dwarven swordmanship (axemanship?) can surpass the other.
And finally, Thirrion. He is the last one I can think of as former associate or person I know, and mostly because he might as well had built Reinhardt's pistol.

Step back, pupils, for this rad teacher's insurance doesn't cover blown minds.

I mean... I'm actually really glad to be inside. I will gloss over the others' backgrounds (skipping the Secrets, lf course) so I can get a feel of who would make for the most plausible Reinhardt pals.

Not even lying, I'd read that. And Reinhardt too... sometimes a philosopher needs some distance from serious texts.

This is Emissary's submission, Reinhardt Von Brandt.

Backstory, description and personality are in progress. Mostly because I need to update them from the phone where I wrote them to my laptop, and it's getting wonkier by moments.

If I can't get it to work properly, I'll have to go to sleep and update it by hand in the morning.

Edit: Backstory tentatively finished. Now to sleep. Description, plot hooks, family(at least naming them and a couple lines) and personality to come with the first rays of sun.
