"Ta'muut," Raunip says to Brerrg adn Trraa, smiling. To Ux, "Your aid was very helpful, Chosen-of-Stone. Raunip looks forward to bringing stories to your clan with new sunrises." The hobgoblin thumps his own fist to his chest. "Traveler guide your journeys." The hobgoblin takes a moment to situate himself upon Xurwk and then makes his way deeper into the outskirts of the city.

Raunip observes the gnoll's petrified paw, but says nothing about it. He shuffles behind the archers, walking beside Ux, leading his pet behind him. "Raunip must stay as long as it takes to find Zuriel and make a trade. This he promised he would do."

Raunip climbs upon one of the sitting stones, calming Xurwk and encouraging her to lay beside the stone and rest. Once she is calm and at ease, Raunip begins. "Raat shi anaa... the story continues..."

"Three half-elves were walking together in the plains when they met with Hyena. They were very frightened, and Hyena asked them, 'Whose protection are you under?'
The first khoravar answered, 'I am under the protection of the gods.'
The second half-elf answered, 'I am under the protection of the land of Khorvaire.'
And the third half-elf answered, 'I am under your protection.
Hyena looked at the three and said, 'If I eat you who is protected by the gods, wherever I go I may not escape them. So you I shall not kill. If I eat you who is protected by Khorvaire, then where in the world will I find a place to hide? So I shall not eat you. And you who has put yourself under my protection. If I eat you, you will be protected inside my belly. Come!' And Hyena ate the third half-elf."

Raunip smiles as he watches the giantess return to her hut, hoping that he has made a lasting peace between giant and kobold.

"Vinxa, Ozula." Raunip says as he thanks his Green-hoard host. "Raunip is happy to help, and now has many stories to share. The moons are awake, and Raunip must continue his own story. With the aid of Xurwk, we will cover much distance this night."

"Ke chidar esaa roo, mo'esaa te." "As your people greet friends, I welcome you." Raunip says in the Goblin tongue, then again in Jotun for Great Grunda, and the Galifar language for Ozula.

Turning back towards the hill giant, Raunip speaks again in her native words. "Grunda the Great, the Green-hoard kobolds want peace. Together you can help keep each other safe, share what you know. Raunip will tell your words to Mother Ozula, protector of the green lizards." turning back to his kobold host, he switches back to the trade language. "Tell Raunip what the Green-hoard wishes of Grunda."

Raunip enjoys the feeling of being in the saddle, the feel of soft fur between his fingers as he lightly holds onto his new mount while he directs her to and fro. He eagerly pays attention to any riding assistance the urthalrei offer to him. He inquires to Ozula how to name his new friend "Peace-bringer" in the tongue of the dragons.

From the boogle of dire weasels, Raunip spies a titian-colored she-weasel that seems to have a chipper demeanor. Approaching her slowly, he signals to the kobolds that he would like the saddle placed upon her. Cautiously the bandy-legged youth climbs into the saddle, shushing and soothing softly as he tries to keep the weasel calm.

This will not be good... With a wave Raunip returns his three goblin servants to the boots, dismissing them. Sala disappears from the pit, Gax fades around the spear, and Gwenn drops her sticks. Raunip grabs his staff, ready to defend himself.

Dark Archive

Male Hobgoblin Advanced Oracle 5

Assuming that the warning isn't a warm kobold greeting, Raunip holds his hand up defensively, relaxing the grip on his staff with his other hand. "See Ozula?" the boy inquires. Raunip thinks that not many of the Green-hoard kobolds speak Trade, but mentioning Ozula's name might help.

"Saa, my friends." Raunip greets his ghostly companions. "Let us quickly return these eggs to the Green-hoarders." Raunip heads back, instructing the servants about, keeping them before him. He talks to them about Grunda, telling them about the she-giant, and occasionally has them stomp about, in case there are buried pits the Green-hoarders have left about.

"G.. goodbye, Grunda. Karvog is... p-proud of you." Raunip manages while being squeezed. He adjusts his packs, compensating for the eggs, trying to be as careful with them as possible. Raunip orients himself,

As Raunip stirs, "Huul ghuugec" he says, "Er... Good morning." he corrects in the Jotun tongue. After stretching, Raunip excuses himself for a moment to "raise the river." Stepping back into the hut relieved, Raunip heads for the sacks of procured vegetables. "Raunip will help Grunda grow food again. This morning we will plant what we can." Looking over the foodstuffs, Raunip tries to decide what will grow with little effort, root vegetables.

While she turns the alligator, Raunip remembers the items he procured from his mother. "Grunda, Raunip cannot bring back Nový, but Raunip has something for you..." he hobbles to where he left the sack by the entrance. He fishes out the large doll- mostly made from sackcloth itself and about half his height. He sets the doll down near his hostess.

Raunip lets the silence hang for a time. "Raunip is sorry that you lost your mate and daughter." As the sun sets, colors fade from the room and start to take on shades of grey. The hobgoblin assumes the giantess can also see at night, but he wants to make her comfortable. He turns towards the fire pit. With his back to Grunda, he kneels down and snaps his fingers, igniting the fire with a spark. "Raunip will help Grunda tonight. Raunip will make food. Can Raunip stay tonight?"

Holding his hands out defensively, Raunip takes a backwards step towards the entrance, but then stops. "Great Grunda, please tell Raunip what happened." Raunip implores, hoping he is not pressing his luck.

Raunip tries not to look directly at her while she dresses, giving her a measure of modesty that she does not seem to possess for herself. "Raunip hears many stories of the Great Grunda. The Green-hoard kobolds fear her. Say she is too big and blocks the sun."

Dark Archive

Male Hobgoblin Advanced Oracle 5

Responding quickly, "Raunip is sorry, O Great Grunda." the hobgoblin bows. "Raunip did not steal thumper. Raunip wants to talk. Raunip has heard of Great Grunda. She is mighty and strong." Raunip hopes flattery will work with a giant.

Raunip hesitates, but then addresses the giantess in her native tongue. Softly, but then his voice picking up to wake her, as he calls from near the firepit. "Veľká Matka..." Great Mother, he begins. "Wake up, Great Grunda."

Dark Archive

Raunip thinks for a moment. The feast of the dreaming... He thinks. He pinches his fingers, mimicking the closing of eyes. Carefully he rests a hand on the sleeping Grunda as he whispers softly, "raat gan'khesh." Raunip smiles as he casts the dream feast then settles in, sitting cross-legged near Grunda for a bit to let the dream take hold...

She must be lonely...

Raunip breathes slowly as he picks his way through the tent, trying not to wake the sleeping giant as he tries to get to her club to move it to the other side of the tent.
