So, I know I'm jumping on this pretty early, but mostly because I'm GMing this on Friday and Saturday. The Chronicle Sheet doesn't appear to be correct. It seems like there should be a table for the gold amounts earned by level, but it didn't import properly. Is this something that can be fixed ASAP?
I couldn't find a thread so I figured I'd start one. A couple of questions: A2 - Exactly how many pillars are there? Deciphering off the map, it seems like there could be 10 or 20.
Apart from this, I do enjoy the scenario and the story.
I had a question about online PbP and the use of class abilities that require Harrow decks. While I know there's a built-in mechanic for using die rolls to simulate the alignment and suit of a card being pulled, but PFS requires you to actually own a Harrow deck to use the abilities in Society play. How is this requirement validated for online PbPs? I just realized I signed up two Harrow-using characters for Outpost II and didn't consider this.
Hi everyone. I've got a really interesting head-scratcher here and was hoping for some advice. So, my -1 has been sitting on the shelf for over a year. I started the character 5 seasons ago and she's at level 11. Since it was my first character, I realize my paperwork skills were not up to snuff (i.e. I never used an Inventory Tracking Sheet), so since I'm trying to get her towards 12-15 scenarios, I decided to audit the character and update my paperwork accordingly. Thankfully, my purchases and sales are well documented on the chronicle sheets themselves. The problem I'm having is that she's a Poisoner archetype, and going through my purchases, it seems me and the GM (a good friend of mine) thought that crafting a poison gave you a 5% discount, rather than what seems to be a 1/3 discount according to the FAQ (as the FAQ tells me to use the Crafting rules). There are GM initials on the purchases because I remember having to roll to make the items (and can see in some situations where I failed the rolls), but I was definitely short-changing myself on the cost. In light of this, I have some questions: ---Did the rules change at some point? Was the 5% discount correct at one point in time and then updated to the current rules? If so, then it seems like I was following the correct guidelines at the time (for reference, the first sheet I see this with crafted items is dated June 2014) ---If the rules have always been the same, can I retroactively update my chronicle sheets, noting changes where they apply to reflect the correct costs (thus giving me extra money in the long run)? I'd initial all the changes (or have another V-A do it) and then have to update all my gold totals for the ~20 chronicle sheets since then (time to break out the White Out) ---IF I have the ability to retroactively update my chronicle sheets, is there a cleaner way to do it? Thanks in advance for the advice. :)
I figured I would ask because I'm not sure what rule guidelines this would fall under. So, from a module bonus chronicle sheet, I got access to a very handy item for the particular character that has it. Here's the exact wording: necklace of resistance +2 (6,000 gp; as a cloak of resistance +2, except it occupies the neck slot) My current issue is that I'd like to have a better bonus to my saves. Now, I see that this price is 50% higher than the standard cloak of resistance +2. Can I use this as a guideline to improve the bonus on this necklace as the following? +3 => Item Cost as 13,500gp, thus 7,500gp to upgrade
If it matters, the item listing on the chronicle sheet doesn't have a custom item stat block, nor is it part of a special boon. It's typed as I typed it above in the list of equipment available for purchase on the chronicle sheet at the bottom
Hi Customer Service Team! I have a request regarding updated my profile and my downloads list accordingly. First, I have 100 tables reported as a GM for Pathfinder Society, so I'd like to request that my star rating be updated (it doesn't seem to have done it automatically, and using the new "Refresh" button hasn't changed it either. Second, in light of my milestone, I'd like the following scenarios added to My Digital Content:
Thanks in advance!
Hi everyone! I thought it'd be nice to create a thread here for people to talk about what fun they are having for Free RPG Day. I'm leaving my house in a bit with Heroes for Highdelve and We Be 5upergoblins! prepped for the festivities. What scenarios are other people GMing / playing? P.S. - Did I miss something, or is there no Free RPG Day chronicle sheet this year?
So, here's a situation I was curious about. How would a Bracelet of Friends work in PFS? I have a series of PFS characters that are family, and it would be within flavor for the matriarch to have a bracelet of friends with one of her daughters on each charm. Could she conceivably purchase the item, attune one of her daughters to each charm, and then utilize that during a scenario (if drastic times call for drastic measures)? I mean, I'm inclined to think the answer is 'no', but I can't find any rulings about it.
Ok, so I've dug around the forums and bit and found some postings regarding what specials can be offered/GM'd at stores vs. conventions, 4 or 5 stars, and venture officers. It seems I'm still having some issues figuring out what I could potentially offer as a 3-star VO. Now, I can't find any post more recent than 2017 that addresses this, but I found that Alex Wreschnig keeps a list on his Pittsburgh PFS site. I'm also well aware that this is considered "unofficial", but it seems to be the best collection of info: https://pittsburghpfs.com/resources/specials-stars-and-table-requirements/ Now, I understand how multi-tables and True Dragons work, and I also know the phased release times for Solstice Scar, but where I get hung up is Bonekeep, Serpents Rise, Serpents Ire, and Through Maelstrom Rift. From Alex's Site:
Requirement: 4+ star GM, or any Venture Officer, at any time These scenarios may be run by any 4-star or 5-star GM or a Venture-Officer at any time. They also may be run by anybody at a convention. Any convention may schedule Bonekeep, as there are no table minimums. Bonekeep Level 1: The Silent Grave (Levels 3-7)*
Requirement: 4+ star GM, at any time
#6-98 Serpent’s Rise (Levels 7 Special Pregens Only)
So, as a 3-star VO, I take this to mean the following:
Except, when I became VA in February, my downloads page was updated a little bit differently than what I would have expected:
Now, I know that having access to the PDF isn't a direct correlation to being allowed to GM it, but I want to make sure of a few points here, under the assumption that Alex's listing is correct:
I'm just looking for some clarification, so I don't try to GM something I'm not allowed to.
So, I have a question about a boon on Eyes of the Ten Part 4:
Spoiler:
For the +2 ability score bonus, it says you can put it on a newly created PC. Does it have to be brand new with no chronicle sheets, or can it be a character that only has GM sheets and hasn't been played yet? I know there are some allowances for putting boon sheets on characters that only have GM sheets and haven't been actually played yet, I just wasn't sure if this could be the case with this boon.
Hi everyone, So, I'm trying to get some answers regarding the following questions around the RSP boons that have come up since I've gotten the approval. My RVC isn't responding to e-mails, but I suspect that might be because they're traveling, so I'm trying to find out if anybody can answer these questions for me (I'm a newly-minted VA): 1) Are the GM boons tradable? 2) The GM boon states clear instructions on how to credit GMs for tables that they run (scenarios, modules, APs, etc.) However, I'm not sure how to assign credit for the two super-dungeon/modules that fall outside of the standard 16/32/64 page format: Emerald Spire and Thornkeep. The Emerald Spire one is important because I have a GM planning to offer the entire module over the next year, and there's talk of also offering Thornkeep sessions in the near future. 3) Within our general area, we have three to four different stores that offer PFS on a regular basis, and we have some overlap with GMs. Are the GM boons supposed to be treated as "one GM boon per location", or can GMs earn credit on these boons across any location with a Venture Officer that can initial/sign-off on their boon sheet? I am aware that any GM tables at a convention with PFS support cannot count (as they qualify under their own support program), so it would only be a matter of GMs at these game store locations that have been approved for RSP. Thank you in advance for the advice/feedback. :)
So, I *think* I understand this, but I wanted to come by in here and make sure this is correct before our store GMs start filling out sheets incorrectly. From various citations in the PFS RPG Guide, I get the impression that modules give 3XP/4PP, unless they are Free RPG modules which are 1XP/1PP (of course, these rules are standard unless stated otherwise). Based on the products page, I believe this is the list of Free RPG Day modules that are sanctioned: We Be Goblins 1-4
Those 7 aside, there are 40+ other modules (most of them sanctioned). And, newer ones (I'd say in the past couple of years) have a rules sheet in addition to the chronicle sheets that address level ranges, rewards, etc. However, for some of the older modules, the free download is only a chronicle sheet (as examples: Feat of Ravenmoor, The Godsmouth Heresy, Masks of the Living Gods). Is the correct assumption that these modules, because there's no other information to imply otherwise, give 3XP/4PP for completion? Thank you in advance for correcting or confirming by assumptions. :-)
Can someone let me know if my subscription is still active? I subscribed to Society Season 8, but I've had problems all season getting the actual subscriptions added to my downloads. I had payment decline issues with two scenarios, but out of the other 15 so far, I've only been auto-charged for three. Thanks
So, I know the rules state under combat that if you roll damage for an attack and the result is less than 1, then you deal 1 point of nonlethal damage. I also read in an older post that 1 point of nonlethal damage is considered "injury" for the sake of poisons under that category. Based on this, I want to ask a few questions to clarify a build I'm working on: 1) If the attack itself is nonlethal (say from a sap or from an unarmed strike) and the damage is less than 1, do you still deal 1 point of nonlethal damage? 2) If DR reduces this minimum damage to 0, does an "injury" poison still affect the target? 3) If DR reduces this minimum damage to 0, would a touch spell (or a weapon with spell storing) still go off on the target (to clarify, on an attack roll that does damage, not on a touch attack)?
Hey everyone, So, I wanted to have an open discussion for the possibilities of making a melee fighter that concentrates on battle poi. I like the idea of having a combat fire-spinner, so I'm debating actually making this character for a future campaign. After reviewing all the options available, I've narrowed it down to two classes (Note: I haven't reviewed the variant archetypes for these classes): Fighter
Fighter seems optimal because of the number of feats that the character gets access to. However, the additional damage from rogue sneak attacks (mostly from flanking; hard to sneak up on someone when you're weilding balls of fire) also makes it an attractive selection. In addition, between rogue talents and now granted access to ninja talents, some of the feats can be taken up using some of your rogue talents. What I also found as neat is using a rogue talent to take a minor spell and be able to cast Spark to ignite your poi. Based on what I've found from other threads on battle poi, I would house rule that they are treated as light melee weapons instead of one-handed melee weapons (thus opening up Weapon Finesse). I would have one rules question: The description for battle poi says that you are treated as though you have the TWF feat when you use them. Would this be sufficient for a prerequisite to Improved TWF? I suppose you could argue that it could be, but your Improved TWF is only available when you use the Battle Poi, but that seems convoluted and I'm inclined to say that it wouldn't open up Improved TWF. So, just throwing this thread out here to see what suggestions some people have on how to build a character like this. Hope you guys have some innovative ideas! :) |
