Weather is hard to predict here, but really likely to get some great weather - mid 70s with some sun. Should be pretty great.

Is this a four-tables-all-in-the-same-game sort of thing? If so, is it pvp or cooperative? Thanks!

Miira - Characters are provided & yes, players are playing the gang. I found the wording confusing as well, but that's the way they seem to do it for all events. Bring dice, if you have them - that's all you need.

Scribbling Rambler - Sorry, just the one slot.

Hi All - I'm the GM for this event. Edge of Darkness is a classic Call of Cthulhu scenario and still one of the very best. If you've never played Call of Cthulhu before - first, shame on you and second, you couldn't pick a better scenario to start with! This scenario plays particularly well with first time Cthulhu players.

A great diversion from Pathfinder. Call of Cthulhu is generally more story focused, often centering around a mystery. Clues leading to answers and answer often leading to madness. It's good role-playing fun.

If you have questions, feel free to post them here.

This information is probably somewhere, but I couldn't find it...

When does the next stage transition (i.e. when does the lottery happens)? And is there a "you have X days to lock in your lottery events?" (something like gencon's 2 hour window from lottery to cart - or is that not a thing for PaizoCon?)

Thanks!

Personal observation...telling gamers not to try and game the system is
like telling ducks not to waddle.

Thanks for all the info, all. However, I'm still a little confused.

TomParker said "Most PFS games are not part of the lottery, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t pre-registered. After the lottery ends, you’ll be able to sign up for PFS in open registration."

When I look at the listed Pathfinder events, say on Saturday. I see a bunch of games 8am-1pm, then only 3 Pathfinder Society games in the afternoon/evening. Can someone clarify what Tom said above - specifically, will there be a bunch more games listed after pre-reg ends? The "but that doesn't mean they aren't pre-registered" leads me to think that they would be listed here...

First time at this con. Hoping to get some advice about organized play. I've been to a few other cons and have the general context, but haven't played PFS / organized play events. I plan on going with my 14 y.o. son.

I have some specific questions and welcome any general advice - thanks all!

- Character prep. Do we just make a couple of 1st level characters and bring them along? If so, if we keep using them, what's the best way to deal with leveling up (on paper, bring a laptop with one of the helper excel sheets, pre-prep level progression)?

- Do we just show up at morning/evening slots and ask for a couple of slots at a table (sounds like most games of this type are not pre-sign-up)? I would think character classes/levels make the options pretty restrictive - do we need multiple character options to find a table that works?

If there is a starter guide, feel free to point me there - I couldn't find one.

Thanks!

Is this still correct - will there be $8 parking at the hotel, if you get it validated by Paizo somewhere?

Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback, Sara. Just need to make sure I'm clear to attend, then I'll submit one or two Call of Cthulhu games.

The process last year was a two step affair for private games. 1)submit your game info, game name, number of players, time slot, etc to PaizoCon about 2-4 weeks before the con. Your game shows up for all con goers to select until your game is full. Then later 2) ask for an available room which happened about 2 weeks before the con. This year it looks like that process starts earlier.

Planning on attending this year for the first time. I've been to GenCon a few times and a couple other gaming conventions as well. I live in Seattle, so not sure why I haven't come to PaizoCon yet - planning on fixing that.

Anyway, I like PathFinder and plan on playing in some games. But, I also really love Call of Cthulhu RPG (both running and playing) and am thinking of running a game or two. I have two questions...

1. The forums seem to indicate that non-Paizo games can be run/played at the con. But, is there appetite for non-Paizo games (do people that come actually want to play anything else)?

2. What Azothath says up there seems really strange to me. Submit your game and then you need to request a room later. Is that right? Seems like you'd just get a room+table assigned with the event acceptance, like every other con I'm familiar with...

Thanks all!
