So here I am, at the table with my buddies, having just finished a one-and-done level 14 game as a Geo/Aerokineticist (deliciously broken, by the way). I jokingly ask my GM if I could play as a rampant butterfly catcher with some kind of magical/enchanted/silly butterfly net.

Then I got to thinking.

Wouldn't a nice, easy character to play consist of a few rouge talents, some stealth and combat manoeuvre bonuses, and a butterfly net?

But this butterfly net is so much more sinister: that's right folks, make it a Bag of Holding on a stick.

So, would a medium- or large-sized Bag of Holding affixed firmly to a pole basically be able to one-shot any given creature dependent on breath, so long as the creature's head fits? Also, enlarge spells could be used for bigger baddies.

What does the peanut gallery think? I'm dying to try this out in my GM's new low-mid level campaign.

Just imagine. Shadowdancer + CMB + Stealth + ??? = Profit

You could always teach it how to swing a ghost-touch weapon around. Martial Weapon Training is an evolution, I think, and it shouldn't be too hard to find an sharp stick with an enchantment on it

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Look into the Kineticist class. They're from Occult Adventures and are CON casters. I have a sylph aerokineticist who put a lot of points into DEX (20 total) and CON (16 total) and she wrecks house from 120 feet away.

A few archetypes, such as Overwhelming Soul and Elemental Ascetic alter the casting stat, but will basically do what you're looking for.

Best part about the class is that antimagic zones don't influence them and they can suffer mind-altering effects and still be useful, unlike psions.

Also, some of the elemental abilities like earth and ice give you ridiculous amounts of DR or AC at early levels.

Just food for thought.
