So I read that the familiar teaches and guides the witch. Does this mean they can talk or something?

Dark Archive

Thank you.

So I have a Champaign that includes a large battle between a gnome militia and a goblin raiding party. I don't know how to make stats for them. Anyone wanna help me with this? Just gnome militiamen at a low level.

If you're interested in emulating the historical Hannibal, one facet is that his reputation was grossly exaggerated by the Romans for political purposes. The defeats he handed Rome were embarrassing, and in many cases this was as much incompetence on the part of his Roman counterparts as it was his own skill as a general. Hannibal's military genius was played up by the Romans as a face-saving measure, sort of a "yes, we lost some battles, but only because the other guy was an unmatched military genius". That's not to say that Hannibal was a bad general, but he made his fair share of mistakes and would never have gotten as far as he did if his opponents were competent.

I agree that his reputation was played up by the Romans but he had done things that no military could achieve to this day. His tactics were ahead of its time and was only defeated because he was the Romans greatest teacher. They used his tactics against him.

Hannibal lead a barbarian army to Rome And nearly ended the Roman empire. Hobgoblin Hannibal is basically what I'm going for. On a smaller scale.

Check with the other players. I don't like it when one character gets too fancy or important. I like less Harry Potter, and more Lord of the Rings. Everyone is for the most part balances, and Aragorn is humble enough we don't care so much about the royalty. Only the other players can explain how they feel. You could have everyone with equally important back stories, but that's a little intense for some.

We went over it yesterday and I said I'll think about it. They all have interesting stories from a simple baker's daughter to former hobgoblin commander to a anarchist catfolk sorcerer.

I mean it's a little out there with the man-out-of-time thing but his character is shy and introverted.

I guess it's the time travel thing I need convincing on. Would you allow that big of a time jump? From earthfall to present day?

Dark Archive

So I have a human bloodrager with the draconic bloodline and his backstory is he's from an ancient dragon cult from before earthfall. Before the event happened the cult sent him forward in time because he had the purest and strongest dragon blood of them all.

I'm pretty loosey-goosey with rules and allow the players to do what they want (or let them attempt to) but should this type of time travel be allowed? Like it's a huge leap forward in time from earthfall to the current time. Also this dude has something about his bloodrage where he losses control and goes on a killing spree. He told me he wants to keep from bloodraging as a role-playing thing. I enjoy role-playing a bunch and like the idea but he also told me in his bloodrage he becomes a different person. "The Dragon inside" I guess I can let this happen. Would you?

Hannibal the general who attacked Rome, or Hannibal Lecter, Hannibal the Cannibal?

Anyway a very skilled character with limited fighting ability might be a rogue with the phantom thief archetype.

Hannibal the general.

While I see where you want to go with this, can I ask why your making him a Hobgoblin? Given the races militaristic leanings would not a non combat cable Hobgoblin be very out of the norm?

If you want as non combat as possible go NPC Noble and put skills into History, Nobility, Lore:Tactics and such.

Because out of the norm is exactly what I'm gonna for. He is brilliant and his mind sets him apart from his fellow hobgoblin kin. He's not the typical hobgoblin.

I'll gladly give the new members the same treatment I received one day. When I know enough I guess

I've been a member of this community for about a little over two weeks and I can't believe how helpful and awesome you all are. I asked a ton of questions and for suggestions to help me build my first campaign idea for my players and I got more help than I needed. Thank you. Keep being awesome.

Dark Archive

This is quite interesting. If I get the rest of the npcs and buildings suggestions I'll upload the town layout and give credit to you. Thank you for you contribution.

Dark Archive

So I tried looking for information on this little town in Varisia for the beginning of my campaign idea to get my PCs together as a party. It has to be Whistledown.

I only found a vague description of the town but no map or notable npcs. I went ahead and built the town from the ground up with the information give. I have made seven notable building and need names and npcs with interesting personalities. The town is predominantly gnome followed up by humans then elves and one dwarf.

1: Azure Cup Inn (already cannon)(gnome)
2: Blacksmith (dwarf)
3: General Trader (human)
4: magic potion (elves)
5: jailhouse (human)
6: mayor's home (gnome)
7: Twigstrum estate (gnome instrument craftsmen)

The buildings 2-7 are completely made up and do not exist in the pathfinder universe. I need help bring the small town to life. Npcs and building names. Any help would be amazing.

I just need a little help making npcs. I'm running a campaign idea to get all my PCs together and it had to be in Whistledown. I have little information to work with and just need help creating interesting npcs.

Dark Archive

So I tried to find information on this little town in varisia but only came up with a handful of mediocre inn names and no town map. I went ahead and made the whole town from scratch and tried to keep the vague information given on Wikipedia but I'd like a little help naming Buildings and creating interesting npcs who own them.

I made 7 noteworthy buildings that may attract The Curiosity of adventurers.
1: Azure Cup Inn. (Already cannon information)
2: a place where you buy potions? (Don't know the proper term) (elves)
3: General Trader (gnome)
4: blacksmith (dwarf?)
5: jail house (human)
6: mayor's home or town hall. (Gnome)
7: Twigstrum estate. (Gnome instrument maker)
If anyone wants to help this lowly GM make an interesting town with interesting npcs please don't be shy!
The town is mainly gnome

Interesting dynamics

Dark Archive

My party is full of distance classes and we don't really have anyone on the front lines. I'm going to make that character so I'd like to know who is the better savage? Bloodrager or Barbarian?

Dark Archive

I have an alchemists who wants to get the feat eschew materials. Can they even have that.

Dark Archive

So one of my Pcs are looking for a popular board game in the pathfinder universe. it can be a card game, game with sticks, just anything unique to Avastan or just the world in general. anything would be helpful.

So I'm coming up with a campaign idea but can't find information on certain towns in Southern Varisia. If anyone could help me find information on Places like Whistledown,Wartle, and Nybor. Well information on any small town in Varisia would be great.

Dark Archive

So I'm just wondering how do I use feats. Like does everyone choose one at first lvl or only certain classes can have them at lvl 1?
Like can a witch and Alchemist choose a feat at first lvl? Or can a fighter and barbarian choose a feat?

Dark Archive

So I have a few friends asking me if they can create a Character that is of Dwarven and Gnome descent. Is there any way to give racial traits traits to half breed races that are not half human?

Example:
Dwarf - Svirfneblin
Halfling - Elve
Gnome - Duergar

You know stuff like that.
Any information would be appreciated.
