No posts. Organized Play character for CrazyYodler.

More commonly referred to simply as “Kings,” this large inn is a popular gathering place for travelers and adventurers. Most nights its tables are filled with transients and treasure hunters looking for work or eager to swap stories, truthful or otherwise, about their exploits.

Being a Local or DC 10 Knowledge(Local):

Barnky, the innkeeper and bartender, is always up on the current scuttlebutt and with a little bribe might be able to provide the party with some useful information.

You hear the gregariously loud, and boisterous clamor of tales and speeches unheard. Many folk here to let off steam trade stories and in all regards, entertain them selves for the evening. You see Barnky both acting and barkeep and innkeeper struggling slightly to pick up the current influx of patrons. He looks up with a quick grin.

"A bed for the night is eight silver, meals are three. If you have any stabled animals that is an additional two silver."

He is very busy with his tending to other patrons, but you see that he almost sets into an otherworldly rhythm as you see him glide from patron to patron, still regarding them by name and rekindling any conversation that they left off with in the whirlwind of action that was happening behind the barkeep.

Use this as an opportunity to roleplay and get your characters introduced as I clamor to get this adventure off to a good start.

Dot.

Being located a the intersection of the two major traderoutes and the mouth of the Gaelon River has made Endhome the trading capital of the continent , This independent city-state boasts a well-trained and highly disciplined guard that keeps the streets safe and hospital for its many wealthy and influential visitors. There is wilderness abound surrounding the town and unknown secrets that have either been discovered and forgotten or never found at all. What has brought you to this town?

Expectations:

This area will entail expectiations of both myself (the GM) and the players (you lovely lot). This is something that I do with all my groups, which of late have been mainly face to face encounters.

GM: I will do my best to be attentive and responsive to your needs, this is not always clear to me and would love to have feedback if you have any concerns that need to be taken care of. I am not perfect and strive to provide the best experience for everyone here.

I am looking to complete this adventure and have the possibility of projecting it further (where ever that may take us (ie. SLumbering Tsar or any other terrible things that we can thing of.)

The adventure itself is open as a cave, anywhere you want to go any lead you want to pursue is yours. I will strive to make each and every journey unique and enjoyable for everyone.

Player Expectations: If selected, players should be able to post at least once a day during the week and at least once on the weekends. I understand real life can get in the way sometimes and is definitely first priority, but if you don’t think you can consistently post once a day during the week and once on the weekends, then please do not apply.

I also want players to actively engage in the story. I, as the GM, should not be the only one pushing the story along. I’m sure there will be times when I have to push everyone along, but I would much prefer for players to take the initiative in moving the story forward.

I want everyone to assist with keeping track of the loot. There are several different systems to keep track of throughout the Adventure Path and loot seems like the kind of thing players should be taking a personal interest in anyway. We’ll be using Google slides for this, as well as for maps, and general game information.

Consistency: Communication is key, if you have real life or other issues that will effect your posting, let us know in the discussion thread, this will be an opportune time to either DMPC the character or let the story flow on naturally and have them pick up later.

Players missing for an unannounced time of more than 7 days will be looked to be replaced.

[spoiler=Combat]
The following PC rolls will always be made by me to keep things moving:

  • 1. Initiative
  • 2. Perception
  • 3. Sense motive
  • 4. Saving throws
  • 5. Group diplomacy*

Where the group is involved in a diplomatic action and a diplomacy roll is required, I will roll using the PC with the highest modifier for the group as the primary roll and the next highest modifier for an assist. Depending upon roleplaying and other circumstances, I may allow multiple assists also, or require someone other than the PC with the highest modifier make the primary roll. Otherwise, the players roll these individually.

We will be using an iteration of google (Slides/Draw) for combat maps, please describe your movement rather than saying you move from "here to here". I would love to have your movement also apply to your overall RP in the world we are creating.

"OOC" to be used for metagaming terms (ie. Move, Action, Swift Action.) as well as post related questions (ie. Can I move here without provoking an AoO?)

"Bold" Letters to be used for speech.

Please try to stay in Third Person Limited

Have had the urge recently to start a game with some frog god games products that I have been gifted. I would really like to see what interest there would be in a game like this.

If the game lasts a good time we can stay in the setting and open the world to the group.

In general will be a explorative adventure(s), based primarily where you want to go. Opens up possibilities for rappan athuk or slumbering tsar as well.

If enough interest is garnered I will begin the starting process with Character creation and game expectations and the such.

On a side note these adventures dont hold hands well and require some old school mentality of running when overmatched etc.

I apologize for my spelling mistakes if there are any I am doing this post from my phone.

It is New Year’s Eve, and near midnight on this frigid evening the heroes gather in a small condemned tavern in the Free Citystate of Gate Pass. Located in the mountain pass which separates two hostile nations — Ragesia and Shahalesti — Gate Pass has been neutral since the end of their last war, but now from Ragesia a scourge comes for the city.

By now, every magic-user in Gate Pass knows of the Scourge. The Emperor of Ragesia died barely a month ago, and in a move to cement herself as the next emperor of Ragesia, Leska, leader of the Ragesian inquisitors, has decreed that all disloyal users of magic — arcane or divine — are to be tracked down and killed, to prevent future threats to the empire.

To carry out Leska’s command, the inquisitors, clerics specialized in countermagic, travel with military escorts to the borders of Ragesia. Their first target is Gate Pass, its neutrality long viewed as an insult to the nation’s honor. Those who resist them will have to face the searing power of the Ragesian Empire.

An entire army marches for Gate Pass, and the people of the city fear that they will not be able to resist the might of the Ragesian military. The city leaders are bowing under pressure, and have barred the exit from the city, intending to welcome the inquisitors that come with the army, for they foolishly hope that the Ragesians will reward their cooperation with mercy.

A local resistance movement, devoted to keeping both the Ragesians and the Shahalesti out of the city, has gathered vital military intelligence, and they need messengers to deliver the information to allies at a distant wizard’s school. With all their strongest warriors preparing to hold back the Ragesian assault, this vital mission falls to a party of inexperienced heroes.

The Ragesian army is nearly at Gate Pass’s doorstep, so time is short. The war is about to begin.

I will let you roleplay this out as you see fit. Get settled in and learn naturally about eachothers character. Work out any bonds, or past partnerships you may have in mind or that may have developed. Your party is mainly being sought out to work in part with the resistance to relay information...You have a meeting place to head to. The "Poison Apple Inn"

Welcome to DM Yodler's Recruitment Thread

This is a recruitment thread for a total of five players, will be including all of the materials from the Player's Guide, will be expecting the players to review this and choose if they would like to use any of the features contained within. It is a 3.5 era source of material so some minor changes may have to be made.

Campaign Introduction:

While once news reached the Free Citystate of Gate Pass by weekly teleporting courier, that channel has gone silent, and now news travels by the old routes of rumor — travelers from the outside world. You might be one of those travelers, or a concerned native of the city, but you have heard the rumors.

Emperor Drakus Coaltongue, ruler of the mighty Ragesian Empire which lies to the west of Gate Pass, has been slain in a distant nation, or so the rumors say. Of course, the rumors once said that Coaltongue was immortal. However, no one doubts the tales of armies mustering in Ragesia, with orders to secure the borders of the empire at this time of weakness and uncertainty. And from Shahalesti, the elvish nation east of Gate Pass, the rumors say its ruler seeks to claim the vulnerable Ragesia for his people.

Gate Pass sits alone in its mountain pass, one of the few safe routes between these two nations — Ragesia and Shahalesti. For weeks people have been saying war would come to Gate Pass, and now the rumors are true.

In War of the Burning Sky, you will have the chance to fight in a war of mythic proportions, and determine the fate of many nations in its aftermath. Ever-escalating conflicts, powered by mighty magic and fervent faith, threaten your freedom and lives, and even the world itself.

Driven by the dogs of war, you will head for a distant safe haven, a mages’ school named Lyceum, which has sent up a rallying cry for those who wish to resist the warmongers. You will have a chance to form alliances, to build an army, and to uncover the strange secrets that underlie the conflict. As the war reaches a climax, powerful magic will threaten to scorch nations, or sunder them into nothing but nightmares. It will be up to you to bring the war to an end before only embers and ruins remain.

Player Commitment:

I plan to post at least twice a day, even on bust days I can have two good quality posts on the board. I expect players to have around the same amount of activity, pending interactions and the like. If you haven't posted within a 24 hour period I will DMPC you, have you delay or otherwise fall behind. Likewise, people who interact and post more often will be included within the story line that unfolds in a more frequent manner.

Not looking for a super speedy story, but something that is consistent and has a decent pace.

Character Creation:

  • Character level 1
  • 20 Point Buy
  • Max Starting Gold
  • PFS Hit points (1st Max, 1/2+1)
  • No limit on Character alignment (need to be careful on evil characters and their interactions)
  • Two Traits, you may use a drawback at my approval
  • No Third Party material
  • No gunslingers or other 'tech' themes, just throws off the fantasy feel for me.
  • One big thing into the consideration for character selection is the fact that I ask people pay more attention to your background and description than your "crunch". I am far more interested in the who than the what. Build a character that is interesting and capable of solving problems. I enjoy multifaceted characters more than a one-dimensional one.

If you wish you may role play a bit in the recruitment thread to stretch your legs, feel free. Any role play here could carry over to the game.

Recruitment will remain open until April 6th, or until I have recruited for all positions.

    dotting here.

Dotting here, will set up discussion for you guys here. Discuss character concepts and I will follow with deciding on a patron.

Decide everything pretty much. I'm going to leave it to you to decide on things. I'm open to most concepts as you know. You can even be non dwarf but make sure you have a good reason to be going with a band of dwarves to the underdark.

All information in the campaign info tab. Looking for four players to play with. Will be my breaking out foray into trying to DM a game here on the forums. My last try was dashed by a flood.

Either way let the hounds loose. Will probably have recruitment open until October 23rd.

Cheers. I'll try to answer any question daily until then.

    Hola Chaps

Post here for any in game concerns.

"This adventure assumes that the PCs begin their adventuring careers in the lively mining town of Diamond Lake, a muddy smudge on the map of the hills east of the fabulous Free City. Diamond Lake’s inhabitants are predominately miners and laborers, serious folk who spend most of their lives toiling below ground. When not working, the miners celebrate along the Vein, a seedy road lined with alehouses and brothels. Overall, the village is a sooty, sullen place prone to unpleasant bursts of violence and passion. But Diamond Lake holds plenty of opportunities for adventure, for the uplands surrounding the town are rife with the ancient tombs and burial cairns of long-dead cultures."

Looking to start DM'ing for a PBP game. Will be my first PBP endeavor. Looking to start running an "Age of Worms" AP. Initially this will be an interests check as well as an application page.

First things first the needed information.

    Level: Level One.

Ability Scores: 25 Point Buy (try not to cheese points too much, unless it co-insides with you character quite a bit.

Race: Core (might sway to others depending on the bio and such).

Class: All published minus summoners (no third party)

Skills and Feats: All published (no third party)

    Traits: 2 from APG only

Buy Equipment: Max Gold (you can carry what you can afford)

Bio: Have a decent tidbit for me to get a feel of your character.

Frequency: Looking to keep it around a once per day frequency, think we could lay down some ground rules for inactivity (whether it be temporary GM control, or replacement after a certain amount of time.)

If you have any other question just let me know ;)

Saw a thread looking for players in the Calgary area before, but they were about a year old. Was wondering if anyone in the general area is playing Pathfinder that would want to start a group or take in a starved gamer.

Well just food for thought since trying to convince people who haven't ever played this sort of game is kin to asking for seppuku it seems.

Either way let's see who we get.
