Will any of the strips from Downer be available for download soon. Just as I missed a couple from the begining and would like to see how it all started, what I missed etc?

Out of curiosity, is Downer set in a particular world?
Ah Spaced. I loved that show. You should also check out the British shows "The Office", "Little Britain" and "The League of Gentlemen" (Nothing to do with the film and made a good few years before it,) they are really funny. Also the main girl from "Shaun of the Dead" is in the The Office.
I know what you mean. The plot holes with the previous films were fairly bad. I don't know why it is that Hollywood spends so much on Sci-fi effects and then completely ignores continuity and storyline. The only thing I did think was possibly kind of cool was that the Predator ship at the end might have been the one that crashes on that mining planet from the original Alien. Although I seem to remember the dead creature with the hole in its chest being a lot bigger in the first Alien movie.
Trivial Pursuit. It's just brilliant. The amount of useless information I now know is quite staggering. Also love my Playstation 2 and my Mac Games: Generally Forgotten Realms stuff.
I really like the style of Downer and was wondering whether or not this was the first Downer Strip or if there have been previous Downer stories? Also have you written any other comic strips? As they would be great to see, if you have.

My apologies to Die Fledermaus, who I seem to have offend. I did not mean to insult your gaming expertise. 1980, that is a long time gaming, I mean I would only have been a couple of months old around then, so clearly don't have as much knowledge of stuff. However my comments were simply to suggets that I don't see why downer is hard to follow really, I just missed a couple of issues so didn't have the back ground and I don't think one summary in over a year is that bad. After all how many TV shows can you think of that begin with the phrase "and previously on" and then lots of clips. Also 6-9 pages of Downer doesn't sound that bad really, although the Polish would be a bit tricky! Also with the adventure path I find you have to look at old issues anyway.
I think it is a bit unfair to say that because a comic needs a summary it is "crappy". Unlike some other strips in Dungeon and Dragon, Downer has an actual storyline. I really like the other comics too, but they don't leave you wanting to find out what happens next. This could of course be because they are stand alone strips. Downer has a different style to some of the other comics and I like the fact that it isn't as generic. Also I don't feel that it is hard to follow, unless you have missed a couple of issues (as I had done) or are perhaps new to roleplaying and don't automatically recognise a beholder on sight etc. But each to their own view I guess.
Loved the text explination of what's going on in Downer. Makes a bit more sense now (I missed the first nine chapters). Anyway, just wondering if all the strips are going to be on Kyle's site when it eventually comes back on line. (Much as I would love to order the issues I missed, my finances won't allow it! )
Yep, got my issue last week.
Although I missed before like episode 9, I still get the general jist of what's going on. Basically it is great, and I totally agree with Kyle about the whole Lord of the Rings voices etc. It was wonderful in Lord of the rings but I like the style of Downer too. By the way, when is Kyle's site going to come back on line?
Personally I like Downer, it's fun and at least no one seems to act like Drizzt! Thank god. I have only seen it from Manglecramps eating some guy, then missed the next three issues, so can someone tell me what happened before that? Basically what the heck is going on? |
