I playtested it, which also means I can't say much more about it, but I don't think it breaks NDA to say I enjoyed it - my group is a bit bored with the fiddliness of the Pathfinder rules system and the GUMSHOE approach keeps the story moving a lot better.

Hi - you are quite welcome to discuss the game (and the playtest) now that Lorefinder has been released.

Hi, Lorefinder is out now on pre-release - PDF now, print later from both the Paizo and Pelgrane stores.

Pathshoe – GUMSHOE/Pathfinder

Gareth Hanrahan has produced a supplement for Pathfinder which will open new ways to approach discovery and adventuring and enable players to bring in the investigative rules from GUMSHOE into your Pathfinder game.

If you're interested in playtesting this game, please email - beth @ pelgranepress.com with 'Pathshoe Playtest' in the subject line, stating whether you've playtested for Pelgrane Press before.

Thank you.

It treats treasure and combat differently to information gathering. Not noticing an opponent sneaking up on you is fun, not finding a handout because of a failed roll is not. If you've got an informational ability under those circumstances, and you need the information for the adventure to continue, you'll get it. You can also spend points from an ability to get a special benefit (often useful but not information - the guard's duty roster, or where the treasure is at).

We'll be creating a product which bolts the investigative side of the Pelgrane Press GUMSHOE system onto 3/3.5/Pathfinder. There are a few pitfalls of which we are aware, but I wanted to get some feedback from you to help us put this together. First, is this of any interest? Second, what would you like to see in th document?

This is not a thread for a general critique of the GUMSHOE system, though do feel free to start your own.
