Been carefully reading your guide as I'm leveling an Inquisitor

2 points

1. Escape Route, if I'm interpreting it right, is supposed to give the "bonus" of being able to move without AOOs to You, since your allies are considered to also have the feat, so you benefit tho they don't (they dont have the feat in reality)

http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2mzbt?Solo-Tactics-and-Escape-Route-Teamwork-Fe at#1

2. While I agree with you that AS WRITTEN, Forced Repentance is a 'trip' spell with a roleplaying hook, ISTM everyone is interpreting this as functioning more like Hideous Laughter. Since it's 4th level, I'd assume it's *supposed* to be a better "crowd control" spell than both Hideous Laughter and Terrible Remorse.

here, someone suggests that because it has a duration, the subject needs to continually fall prone the whole duration (assuming he tries to get up) I think its reasonable to apply "and take no other actions" here since its broken by attacks anyway (which is a bit worse than HL)

I'll send a pic then

Yes. Tho I will be at origins next week. Maybe i can exchange it then?

the first 33 pages of the book are taken from the Core Rulebook. The first character background is for "Inquisitor" and everything earlier is missing.

This is odd. My copy, which I got this weekend from Amazon, had the first 33 pages replaced by the first 33 pages of the Core Rulebook.

Am I the only one?

There seems to be some missing stuff in the desrciption of the Forced Repentance spell.

It never says that the target is helpless or can do NOTHING OTHER than confess sins for the duration.

What would keep the target from getting up the next round. Unlike hideous laughter, no statement says that the target stays down, or can't take actions.

Is there errata?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

How exactly do these work? Just add a zombie template to whatever creature the Inculitis has taken over?

Can you have a zombie shark controlled by one?

Also, does the creature controlled by the Inculitis get Step Up?

Yo dawg I heard you like familiars so I put a sorcerer in your wizard so yo familiar can scry while you scry on your familiar.

it had to be said.

Really looking forward to this, mostly for inquisitor archetypes and spells.

The haunting choir is strange though. It 'deludes' them into thinking they are being tormented by the dead, but its actually a necromancy, not an illusion.

So why not have them be actually tormented by the dead?

That's some cover.

I'm reminded from an old issue of Dragon something about how artists are always trying to sneak in perverse stuff into artwork hoping the editors won't catch it.

I leave the relevance of this observation as an exercise to the reader

You know what I was thinking would be nice?

When you are looking at the listings for the modules you sell, please list the authors. It would be nice to see at a glance what mods are by what authors.

Thanks. That is all

nevermind

Found it http://paizo.com/dungeon/resources/downloads

Are you really intending to sell some free miniatures?

So now that Reaper is making these, can we get an update?

I wouldn't mind

1) must play a game to get the thing you want
2) only one item period.
3) Must buy something else to get a free product.

or any other number of restrictions. But the random die roll is the worst.

Interestingly, at Dexcon, weeks later, there was a table with everything from free RPG day for the taking. And nobleknight was also a way to get the product.

I have no reason to go to an FLGS that offers random stuff.

Wow, these are taking a long time. What's with Crocodile games? Are you disappointed at the delay here?

Also, I wonder if you sent them concept art for the mini poses, or are you leaving that up to them from the original art (I note that some mini poses are different from the originals). I ask because I'd me mollified to at least see what the concept art for the minis indicates they'll look like.

This is really too bad about the delays. I'd hoped that adventure path minis would keep right on coming out along with new paths.

Can we yell at Crocodile at Gencon? :)

I, too, visited the Complete Strategist in King of Prussia. I only was interested in the Rogue Trader and Eberron scenarios, but got neither.

I even returned to the shop at about 5pm, to perhaps see if they had any stuff left, and the policy of the die roll remained. At least the clerk gave me another roll.

When I returned it seemed the clerk was keen to let me know that the policy was his boss'. So I took the liberty of sending an email to the contact information from the Strategists webiste (which says to contact the "Webmaster" with questions: webatstrat@yahoo.com)

I tried to make the point in my email that while I spent $50+ at the store, I have a lot of shopping options, and though I like the CS, if I can't get what I want, I'll do something like order from Noble Knight or Ebay afterwards, and not shop there.

One-per-customer would have been better than a die roll. Really, it paid less to come *early* to the store, since the smaller (and lets admit it, less desirable) publishers sent less product, and so the less wanted stuff was gone early in the day, but the more numerous desirable product was still there).

Nice, but chunkier than the art would lead one to believe.

Full picture please.

Anything based off of a Wayne Reynolds illustration

I didn't see a better forum to post this question in (is there a general company feedback forum?)

Will Paizo have all the Pathfinder and Pathfinder chronicles minis available to buy at Origins? I'm really wanting to pick up some Goblins and Valeros, and other ones, and I hope the "backorders" will be available on site.

Thanks.

"Make no mistake, though: you do NOT want to mess with them, no matter how good their armor looks."

Yes, men interested in messing with good-looking women should find weak and helpless females to prey upon.

sheesh.

Sharp-featured with dark hair, dark eyes, and pale skin, Chelaxians differ from their duskier Taldan cousins due to widespread intermixing with pale-skinned Ulfen raider-merchants in the distant past (from whom they also gained the legendary Chelaxian wrath).

I was intrigued by this. I kinda got worn out/bored in Living Greyhawk with constant squabbling between Suel, Olman, Baklunish and Oeridian.

I wonder about the modeling of racialist theories in fantasy settings. I understand it's all over the kind of source material Paizo is looking to (RE Howard, plups) but I kinda liked keeping all the racial stuff in terms of demi-humanity.

Is it just because this is a *fantasy* world than the Chelexian's gain their "wrath" from racial mixing with pale Ulfden raiders? Or will it inevitably meet comparisons with questions of inheritable (not CULTURAL) characteristics from our own social setting?

Or am I over-reading this, and its just stating that the mixing of the races also lead to cultural transfer?

Will there be any races that have a "happy children" trope?

Inscrutable? Decadent? A mysterious orient? Noble savages? Miserly? Tolerant of pederasty?

I'm really impressed with this. I'm going to adapt it for my Xen'drik Expeditions game, where the PCs are already searching for the fifth of five magic objects from an ancient Giant kingdom, and already are chasing a rival group. So I'm going to have to make some changes, and also scale it for 10th level PCs.

1. Scaling:

Mostly easy. The dragon will get bigger. The female mummy will get more levels. Maybe make the Shield Guardian a stone golem.

I'd like to do better than make the heirocosphinx 18hd, like give it a cool template. Fiendish is one possibility, but too dull. Maybe Phrenic, since psionics is always fun to throw around in Xen'drik. Suggestions?

Any suggestions for making the Swarms of organs tougher for 10th level PCs? I'm thinking of adding the mummy rot effect, since that's lacking in Osirian mummies.

Any suggestions for advancing/scaling the Belker.

2. Theme

a. I'm making all the pharaohs except the female giants (the rooms will be a bit bigger), and the female is an elf. Yes, that will be an enigma, that the giants allowed an elf to rule. Maybe they got told that would be a good idea by those from the Black.

b. Eberron doesn't have significant planets. I could leave this as is, as a strange enigma, but it also would fit with the destroyed thirteenth moon. Eberron's missing moon can fit in here. Maybe a chunk of it floats in the void still. To keep the numerology, the missing moon can be 11th in order. Its associated with Dal Quor, so Phrenic makes some sense

3. If this is a giant empire leftover, then the pyramid can't be too recent, and has to be 40K years old about. So the Heiracosphinx is not the source of the mask feathers. (maybe its a ghost sphinx!)

What do you think?

I tried to remove my cc payment, and that didn't seem to do anything. Its still listed.

That seems bad.

Whee! It arrived today!

Thanks!

so it is. Thanks! I will await it for another week and then bother you :)

I've emailed the customer service email and got no response.

I should have received Pathfinder 5, but it hasn't come.

What happens next?

I'm glad the font will be getting bigger. Its too bad it has to change, its a nice font and consistency would be nice.

It also seems though that there is a HUGE amount of linespacing with the font. I bet you could make the font one point larger and reduce linespacing and not have to cut content (much?)

I tried adding the paizo blog to my firefox browser.

http://paizo.com/paizo/blog&xml=atom

It never comes up with anything. So I tried

http://paizo.com/paizo/blog&xml=rss

and the most recent entry was April 26, so stuff is missing. Wierd.

I really just want the Pathfinder blog though, so I hope you can get that feed going soon.

Thanks

I can't believe the paper (origami) golem was published without someone providing instructions for folding one as an oragami.

Anyone care to take a shot at it?

(great article, and great issue overall)

I came to comment on the excellent article on Pazuzu, and decided to share my thoughts on the cover too.

While its true Eric, that past covers have had sexy babes, they usually haven't had sexy babes paired with suggestive text (another bad thing about the excessive cover text needed to sell magazines on newsstands). That contextualizes the female form with "gettin it on" in terms of what is communicates and implied by the publisher, instead of what may or may not be inferred by the reader.

The supine pose probably has something to do with it too.

Anyway, the Pazzuzu article was great, expecially the section explaining the modus operandi of pazuzzu's cult: how they seduce people. I hope to see that kind of thing repeated and expanded in future articles in the series (please tell me its a series!)
