I am _so_ sorry for disappearing. I had a series of life implosion and am just now getting everything stable again.

I am not going to go into detail, suffice to say that I dropped a bunch of balls and these boards were one of them.

I hope you all can forgive me. I hope to return to PbP games in the future and would love to do so here. I don't think my life is together enough yet, but I look forward to the time when it is.

Ugh. Still feeling pretty lousy. But I think I'm coherent enough to get some posts together. Been taking care of sick toddlers while sick doesn't leave much energy (physical or mental) to catch up on PbP. I've fallen asleep while crafting posts several times, only to have the situations change by the time I wake. Hope to have something up soon.

Also dealing with illness here. Stomach bug running rampant through the house. Been spending my time taking care of the little ones. Also Paizo's site has been interminably slow lately. Haven't had the energy to put together a proper post.

Ooran takes a place a few steps behind Vincent and fills the roll of "bodyguard". He watches the crowds and tries to get a sense of the "mood" of the city.

"My memory is a little fuzzy, but I think I remember the lab being struck by an meteor containing blue tentacled cats. But that could just be a fever dream from the toxin the giant centipede got me with. Otherwise Vincent has the right of it." Ooran is just glad he doesn't have to drop a rock face on them all.

Ooran quickly responds, "Sure! Be glad to..." Then trails off. "Um, wait, you want to do what?" He thinks about the offer more as his head clears further. "How is that better than what Lomrick was doing back there?"

I'm certain Lomrick won't be too happy about that." His head whips around at the mention as a new Gates. "Wait, you mean there are more of these things? Where can we find them? Do you think they'll let us take one apart? Or do they already know how they work?" He starts looking a little more guarded.

Ooran twists reality and a bar of darkness coalesces between him and one of the wolves.

With Vincent conducting negotiations and Phai exploring, Ooran turns his attention back to the strange weapons. Given the earlier rolls, was I able to figure anything out?

Personally I prefer ABP to Inherent Item Boni. In my opinion the "paperwork" is significantly reduced. Which can be a bonus I'm a gestalt/Mythic game where those mechanics increase paperwork.

While I was updating Ooran in Herolab, I noticed that it's throwing a validation error on my amulet of natural armor due to innate item bonuses. Are we still using those?

Ooran staggers through the portal and out into the room, dropping his end of the lizard leader. "Whoa! What a rush. Can we do that again?

He starts looking at the working portal on this end. "How does it contain such power?"

Vincent casts his spell and mentions the strange new weapons and Ooran immediately grabs one. "Oh yeah, I wanted to look at one of those. Never saw one before, but they look useful." He turns it over in his hands. "I think they were holding it like this." He grips it experimentally.
Not sure what to roll for this one, I'll just throw some out.
Knowledge (engineering): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Disable Device: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23
Profession (gladiator): 1d20 + 7 - 6 ⇒ (20) + 7 - 6 = 21
Knowledge (martial): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

The voice from the cell interrupt his reverie. He looks to the bars. "Well, that depends, what're you in there for?"
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 9 - 6 ⇒ (13) + 9 - 6 = 16

A lot of stuff going on and Ooran is really only spending a moment at each one of these, jumping from topic to topic, interest to interest, very rapid fire, never quite stopping to let anyone answer his questions.

Sorry this took me so long, thanks for being so patient.

I think durability has been Ooran's weakness so far, being a front line fighter that's a pretty serious problem. So I'm going to go with Absorb Blow. We only get one Path Call/Trick/Strike/Order/whatever unless we spend a Path Ability to get another. I think the DR and energy resistance for 1 minute once we get more Mythic Tiers will be more useful than a single Sudden Block. Thinking more long term here.
Fast Healing is a given and probably the primary reason for not going Champion, Marshal, or Trickster right now. So here's the breakdown:

Path: Guardian
Call: Absorb Blow (5 damage) (Su)
Ability: Fast Healing 5 (Ex)
Feat: Morphic Nature

Bonus HP: 5
Hard to Kill
Surge 1d6

I'll probably use my Tier 2 Path Ability to pick up Quick Recovery or Draw Fire, but I might also go with Extra Mythic Feat and Dual Path into Trickster.

I know it doesn't seem to add much flexibility, but going with Guardian and the Absorb Blow/Fast Healing combo could provide some much needed endurance to Ooran. Giving him more chances to use some of his other class abilities that I haven't been able to yet.

Hmm, also finding Mythic unexpected. Not sure if Ooran should go Guardian or Trickster. Tempted to go Dual Path, but that'll have to wait for another Tier due to the Morphic Nature feat.

Edit: Just saw that the book contains a Mythic Psionic path called Overmind. I'd love to hear more about that.
