Male Aasimar DEAD
Nixkamich breathes a sigh of relief. "Glad I am to see that we have survived the encounter with that sniper. Truly, I was concerned that we would all be seeing the Boneyard before long..." A troubled frown crosses his brow. "...that brush with death was a little too close for comfort for these old bones; I think I will retire, whilst I still have some wisdom and advice to impart to my clan." Thanks for a great game, with a definitely nail-biting finish! @GM BPC: Please report this character as 'Dead', as he has reached the end of his usefulness.
Male Aasimar DEAD
True, but that person can *tell* everyone else where he is, so that we can potentially do something (like, say, Glitterdust him) to make him more visible... In any case... Still wanting to contribute, Nixkamich scrabbles to his feet, and retreats part-way down the alley behind him, hoping that that will cut off line of sight from the sniper to him. Unless he is on the edge of the building directly above me, that is...
Male Aasimar DEAD
Well, since a 46 Perception did not see anything, True Seeing doesn't help, and looking down from above (to try and negate cover) doesn't help either, clearly, this is meant to be a turkey shoot ;-) About the only other thing I can suggest is using the air elemental (with its massive fly speed) to buzz all of the surrounding rooftops to find the shooter, since stealth doesn't work if you don't have something to hide behind...
Male Aasimar DEAD
Actually... When Nixkamich takes his horrific blows, the gilt on his Wayfinder glows, suffusing him with a golden light... 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (7, 8) + 10 = 25 healing. Crap. Not quite what I was hoping for - I was hoping to stay unconscious :-/ ...before it tarnishes, and becomes useless. The arrows pop out of his body, leaving him critically injured, instead of dead. Never have I been so glad to be a 5* GM! He then frantically tries to find somewhere to hide. Basically, taking a full round action to do so; I don't think I can effectively add anything to the combat whilst on 2 hp :-/
Male Aasimar DEAD
In terms of preparation, Nixkamich will have downed his mutagen (for additional Dexterity). Nixkamich starts shooting at the large outsider. +1 Holy Mighty [+2] Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 14 + 2 = 27, for 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14 damage +2d6 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5 Holy +1d6 ⇒ 4 Acid. +1 Holy Mighty [+2] Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 14 + 2 = 31, for 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15 damage +2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2 Holy +1d6 ⇒ 1 Acid. +1 Holy Mighty [+2] Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 9 + 2 = 30, for 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17 damage +2d6 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7 Holy +1d6 ⇒ 6 Acid. As before, using Cold Iron arrows in my holy bow; I will count the crowd as an ally, so it should not provide cover to the creature.
Male Aasimar DEAD
GM:
Re: talking post Dimension Door, I would agree that you should not be able to, since it is an action.
Ret-con away :-) Without a line of sight at any of the remaining foes, Nixkamich hustles forward, and takes a single shot at Yellow. +1 Holy Mighty [+2] Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 16 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 16 + 1 = 32, for 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12 damage +2d6 ⇒ (5, 6) = 11 Holy +1d6 ⇒ 5 Acid.
Male Aasimar DEAD
Aside to the GM: Interesting. So, if they aren't actions, does that mean you can take them when Dazed, Stunned, or Paralysed? I mean, logically, you shouldn't be able to, but if, RAW, they aren't actions, that means you can...
That said, James Jacobs seems to think that an AoO is an action...
Male Aasimar DEAD
Finally in a position to really open-up, Nixkamich lays into the red Div. +1 Holy Mighty [+2] Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 14 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 14 + 1 = 29, for 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16 damage +2d6 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3 Holy +1d6 ⇒ 3 Acid. +1 Holy Mighty [+2] Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 14 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 14 + 1 = 32, for 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13 damage +2d6 ⇒ (2, 1) = 3 Holy +1d6 ⇒ 4 Acid. +1 Holy Mighty [+2] Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 14 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 14 + 1 = 23, for 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13 damage +2d6 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4 Holy +1d6 ⇒ 2 Acid. +1 Holy Mighty [+2] Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 1 = 13, for 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13 damage +2d6 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8 Holy +1d6 ⇒ 5 Acid. Once again, if it matters, using Cold Iron arrows in my Holy bow ;-)
Male Aasimar DEAD
Nixkamich starts firing at the only one he has a clear line of sight on (Red). +1 Holy Mighty [+2] Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27, for 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13 damage +2d6 ⇒ (3, 6) = 9 Holy +1d6 ⇒ 6 Acid.
Starting with Cold Iron arrows, since that is my default, and then working my way through the other metal types, as required.
Male Aasimar DEAD
Grunting, Nixkamich turns his attention to the creature of earth. +1 Holy Mighty [+2] Composite Longbow, Haste, Challenge: 1d20 + 14 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 14 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 25, for 1d8 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 9 + 1 = 16 damage +2d6 ⇒ (4, 5) = 9 Holy +1d6 ⇒ 4 Acid.
Snarling, Archibald then moves to attack! Bite: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 8 + 1 = 27, for 1d6 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 8 + 1 = 10 damage.
Male Aasimar DEAD
With a frown, Nixkamich focuses on taking out the guards (starting with Red). +1 Holy Mighty [+2] Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 14 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 14 + 1 = 16, for 1d8 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 9 + 1 = 11 damage +2d6 ⇒ (5, 6) = 11 Holy damage +1d6 ⇒ 4 Acid damage. +1 Holy Mighty [+2] Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 14 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 14 + 1 = 19, for 1d8 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 9 + 1 = 15 damage +2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7 Holy damage +1d6 ⇒ 6 Acid damage. +1 Holy Mighty [+2] Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 9 + 1 = 18, for 1d8 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 9 + 1 = 16 damage +2d6 ⇒ (5, 3) = 8 Holy damage +1d6 ⇒ 2 Acid damage. Note: I ignore the cover provided by Amarthecthel. EDIT: Well, that was crappy rolling... He then switches positions with Archibald.
Male Aasimar DEAD
Nixkamich steps forward and bows, providing the customary greeting to strangers in the local language. "We are indeed travellers, but as a paladin of Erastil, I can assure you that I am not carrying any contraband. Now, I am certain that with the festival on, you are being overworked to keep track of all that is going on. Wouldn't it be more effective to spend your time looking elsewhere? After all, I am sure that anyone who was *actually* carrying contraband would do their best to avoid attention..." Diplomacy: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (10) + 16 = 26. Assists would be lovely :-)
Male Aasimar DEAD
Nixkamich nods gravely. "Well then, we should definitely keep an eye out for any Divs, since there is probably a reasonably high chance that some will be encountered." He looks thoughtful for a moment, before continuing. "We should also take care to hide our allegiance to the Society - no telling how many spies are in the area." I have a Pathfinder Pouch that I can use to hide Wayfinders, and other 'incriminating' stuff, as necessary.
Male Aasimar DEAD
As the party passes through the market, Nixkamich quickly barters for some freshly cooked meat for the large, coal-black mastiff that pads along at his side, then hustles to catch up with everyone else. "There is certainly a lot of variety. It is pleasing to be back here after so many years." Hey, it is after Midnight, and therefore officially the 27th, where I am; surely, that means we can start? ;-)
Male Aasimar DEAD
Alright, I have updated Nixkamich :-) For the record, I have had people think he was a joke character, but he was built as a theory-crafting exercise, and turned out to be extremely effective, so I decided to actually *play* him :-D Essentially, he is an elderly aasimar, who has been around so long, he has tried a little of everything ;-)
Male Aasimar DEAD
Ignoring the cover provided by Diri, Nixkamich shoots a volley of arrows at Tseka, channelling the holy power of Erastil into his blows. Challenge. +1 Holy Mighty [+2] Composite Longbow, Challenge: 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 10 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 26, for 1d8 + 7 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 1 + 1 = 11 damage, +2d6 ⇒ (2, 2) = 4 Holy damage.
Male Aasimar DEAD
Reflex: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 11 + 2 = 32. Nixkamich shakes his head, sadly. "You have chosen... poorly..." He then unleashes a flurry of arrows at the fake Tseka. +1 Holy Mighty [+2] Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 10 + 1 + 2 = 15, for 1d8 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 7 + 1 = 9 damage, +2d6 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6 Holy damage.
Male Aasimar DEAD
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18. Nixkamich pinches the bridge of his nose, and sighs, before saying, not unkindly: "Look, we have no quarrel with you, and we actually mean Tseka no harm (unless we have to defend ourselves)." He then raises his voice. "Would the real Tseka please step forward...?" Diplomacy: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20.
Male Aasimar DEAD
Nixkamich raises a hand in a gesture of peace. "I can assure you that I am no lackey of Colson Maldris. In fact, not that long ago, I found some papers that were quite personally damaging (as they detailed his indiscretions), and handed them over to the proper authorities, rather than letting him bury the information." He then shrugs. "We mean you, personally, no harm, but we would like to take you away from this place, for an in-depth chat." Diplomacy: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31.
Male Aasimar DEAD
Theoretically, a standing jump *diagonally* from the square 5' west of Nixkamich's current position is only 5' - so a DC 10 on a standing jump (or 15, if you rule that the diagonal is 7.5')...? Either way, he should be able to make it. "Well, it certainly looks like there is a lot of useful information here!" Appraise: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5. "We should crate it up, and continue our search..."
Male Aasimar DEAD
Unable to see the wayang, and boxed in by his allies, Nixkamich shoots at the giant rat thing. +1 Holy Mighty [+2] Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 10 + 1 + 1 = 25, for 1d8 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 1 = 12 damage, +2d6 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3 Holy damage.
Male Aasimar DEAD
Fort: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34. Nixkamich wrinkles his nose at the stench, but is otherwise unaffected. ...or at least, I assume so, with a Fort save of 34 ;-) "Sarsczek? Please step forward so that I can get a clear line of sight on that wayang..." Basically, I want to be able to 5' step to where Sarsczek now is ;-)
Male Aasimar DEAD
Nixkamich calmly steps forward, and volley-fires at the humanoid. +1 Holy Mighty [+2] Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21, for 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 damage +2d6 ⇒ (6, 4) = 10 Holy damage.
Using the trait 'Deadeye Bowman' to ignore the cover provided by Sarsczek. Against flat-footed AC, that should hopefully make a dent :-)
Male Aasimar DEAD
Nixkamich shrugs. "We have some stuff from up top-side to trade," he says, nodding to the others to show the contraband that the party has left, "but mostly, we are looking for poisons". Bluff: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21. Technically, everything I said was true, so that should help with the believability of that statement.
